Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. “Was trying to find a place for lunch on a random weekday. This place is excellent. Give the small hole in the wall vibe but inside is pretty spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and the food is excellent.

I will say parking can be difficult but that shouldn’t surprise anyone in the area. Small underground lot if you can’t find anything upstairs

Had the braised beef plate. Big portions, tasty and well braised beef. Veggies on the side were on the saltier side for my liking, but overall I’d get it again.

Got the beef noodle soup as well. I thought the broth could be a littler more “rich”, on the lighter side than I usually like it.

Not pictured but also tried the pork spare rib noodle soup. The spare ribs were tasty and fell off the bone.

Overall enjoyed the food and staff. Would come back again to try some other dishes like the braised pork”

You Kitchen 1402 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra Asian • $

“I’ve come here many times—it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The beef noodle soup is my go-to, but honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite because everything is delicious.

Highly recommend the dumplings—they’re handmade, and you can even buy them frozen at a great price. The server reminds me of my aunties, and the food tastes like grandma made it. It’s like a cozy Sunday at mom’s, and she just brought out the menudo.

I also love that the music stays true to the culture. They play Mandarin songs, not some watered-down English playlist. It makes the whole experience feel authentic—like I’ve been invited into someone’s home. I’m always happy here. 🥰”

Fosselman's Ice Cream Co. 1824 W Main St, Alhambra Ice Cream Shop • $

“You don’t stay in business for over 100 years for no reason! As an Alhambra native I have a special place in my heart for certain places that make Alhambra what it is, and this is definitely one of them.
Their flavors are delicious! The price is fair! And the atmosphere is unbeatable!
So many wonderful memories at this iconic ice cream shop, and you can feel that when you’re there.
Some original favorite flavors are green tea, and cookie monster which the kids love! I personally always enjoyed the banana walnut!
If you’re in town it’s definitely one of the top 3 to visit!

Parking: The parking lot is small only fits a few cars. There is free street parking, but depending on the time of day there may not be that many spots.

Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome! They will love it!

Wheelchair accessibility: This location is wheelchair accessible, but can be crowded, it may be good to sit outside for more room.”

N' Beyond Tea 1 E Hellman Ave B, Alhambra Coffee & Tea • $

“After doing some research, I found that by day, they primarily serve pho and Vietnamese food (Pho Ever) and during the evening on select nights, they serve specialized drinks and Vietnamese finger foods (N' Beyond). Put that together and you get Pho Ever N' Beyond! So cute.Anyway, this location is a bit obscure. It's located right off the 10 Freeway by Garfield and Hellman next to Circle K. There's a small parking lot as well as street parking. Hours are still changing, so definitely check Yelp or call the restaurant to see if they're open. As of now, they're open Friday - Sunday from 7:30 - 11:30 PM.The first time I came, my friend and I didn't really know what to expect. The pho restaurant was closing and the workers seemed to be in the process of cleaning up the restaurant. Luckily they have a very cute outdoor patio (perfect for a date!) with tons of flowers and greenery. We ordered at the cashier and our drinks and food were brought out to us.I asked for recommendations and went with the Mango Macchiato ($7). Kind of regretted the decision, only because I'm not a big smoothie fan and this drink was pretty much like a blended smoothie/shake. There was sea salt cream and mango jelly - really tasted premium with loads of mango flavor. I personally just thought it was a little sweet. My parents loved it though and devoured the drink once I brought it home.My friend ordered the Black Goji Berry Tea with Lychee ($7) - one of the most pretty drinks! I didn't try it, but she really enjoyed it. Said she could taste the lychee and the goji berry. We also ordered the banh mi brisket ($6) and chicken egg roll ($6). I was surprised that the banh mi was an actual whole sandwich. Packed with ingredients and I really enjoyed the flavor of the brisket. As for the egg roll, crispy and tasty - we ate everything. So I had to return to get a drink that I would enjoy. I ended up trying the Citrus Sunrise ($7) - this came with orange juice, jasmine osmanthus tea, honey citron jam, and some rosemary. I think there was also some jelly bits as well. Really refreshing and light, perfect for a hot day.P.L.O ($7) - peach, lemongrass, orange, lemonade, and jelly. My sister requested for the drink to be sweeter because she was worried that the lemongrass would overpower the taste, but surprisingly the lemongrass was really subtle. The drink was actually a bit on the fragrant/light side, almost as if it was missing a little acid or citrus to blend it all together. I liked the addition of the chia seeds, but I definitely preferred the Citrus Sunrise. And we also were able to try the Ube Frostie ($7). Seriously, the tea places that make ube blended drinks can't compare because the ube here tasted so fresh and decadent, along with the blended components of the drink. Felt almost like an elevated ube milkshake but the word milkshake doesn't do this drink justice at all. Not too sweet - my parents thought this was the best drink out of the three. They currently have a grand opening promotion if you're able to snag a card for BOGO 50% off; they also have a Yelp promotion of 20% off if you order a minimum of $15. The workers who helped me were all super nice and helpful.I definitely am going to return to try as many drinks as I can. Feel reluctant to share this spot, but at the same time, I really hope they do well. They really put a ton of effort into not just the taste, but also the presentation. Will be back!”

“I came here for lunch omakase over 6 months ago and still think about this place! The chefs were friendly, service was wonderful, the restaurant itself was clean and had a nice calming vibe, and the sushi was everything you would want in an omakase experience. I personally like simple flavors and not too many sauces that distract from the fish, and each course, I thought was perfect. any flavors were perfect compliments to bring out the natural freshness and taste of the fish. I didn’t feel like any course was a “filler” course, we kept saying each one that came out was our favorite. I have had many omakase experiences where I left feeling unsure whether it was worth the price but this place was absolutely worth every penny. I only wish I lived closer! Chicken Bun Bun 222 W Main St, Alhambra Chicken • $

“Excellent crispy chicken sandwiches that are made fresh- light with a good crunch and not oily. They are a little light on the bun bun sauce and we needed to order a container on the side to split which is an extra 50 cent. The curly fries were ok but not as crunchy or seasoned as one would hope. The walnut shrimp on bun seemed like a missed opportunity to be honeyed walnut shrimp on a bun- I think candied walnuts would elevate it some but that’s my take. The actual sandwich itself was fresh but also missing some sort of sauce and the shrimp patty itself is one note flavor wise but a good crunch.

I’d come back here for a crispy chicken sandwich and try the wings. (Though I’m concerned about sauces for the wings)

It’s street parking btw”

“I love the food my favorite is the linguine clams which is made with a white wine sauce but you can ask for red if you desire. Everywhere you go now a days is expensive but at least portions are large and shareable. It surprises me to read the reviews and see that people enjoyed the Tyson frozen wings they use to serve at Vittoria’s for years. I also would like to note that I love the antipasto salad and it doesn’t have only one meat as I read on one of the reviews. Also everywhere that has delivery service charges more when ordered on the app. Update: they are no longer charging for water. I can say that yes they are short staffed sometimes as well as many other restaurants have been ever since COVID. I really love the service and I will continue to be a customer for many years!! It always amazes me that people can’t see when it’s busy and aren’t understanding.”

“Going to El Vaquerito the past few days has been feeding me heart, mind, and spirit. This family owned restaurant serving good old fashioned, home cooked Mexican means is a star in Alhambra for me. I recently decided to walk away from domestic violence where I'm from---one of the most difficult parts of that decision is to eat food that I thought I could only eat at home. So thank you El Vaquerito, para haciendo patria donde llegamos. I can walk down the block y disfrutar la amabilidad y riqueza de su ambiente y comida. Saludos! Tu amigx, Gi”

“Their tacos are delicious but their tostadas are very bad, they use bottled lemon and not natural to cook the seafood, that is terrible, not only is it from laziness but from people who know nothing about the preparation of seafood, I would return but only for the tacos , I would never try seafood prepared any other way here.”

“Really tasty pork belly, excellent noodle texture in the mee goreng, mala mee, and chili mee bowls. There could have been more seasoning on the steamed chicken and fried chicken side dishes.I loved the limeade, but my friend with the Western palate wasn't as impressed. “OMG I could not eat another bite... Shrimp Bay omelette.... awesome! Companion ordered Popeye special . Double awesome. My English muffin was toasted perfectly and hash browns also came out great . Did not know they were shakes there until we looked under desserts , voila there they were. Never going to a fast food for shakes again while Bun n Burger is open. Real ice cream homemade shakes $4 much larger than any you can get had to drive thru. My only complaint is that they close at 3:00 and aren't open 24/7 . Of course then I would be a much heavier person, so it's better the way it is . Can't wait to go back and try different meals!!

Parking: There's a small lot behind the restaurant . There's street parking but when it's crowded you have to park a little ways away . Worth it though .”

“The food was great. Came here for a weekday for lunch. They are not busy at all. They mainly sell claypot rice with 2 choices of meats. There is also an option to choose daily soup or drinks with cheaper prices that came with meals. I think soup around $5 plus and drink $3 plus. After finish, we get to try their Portuguese tarts, which are quite good. Overall, this restaurant is 1 woman show. She did the cashier, cooking and serving to you. I'm not sure about washing dishes. The only things that need improvements are their bowls, have some stains and no paper napkin on tables. Other than that, their dishes are quite good.”
