“From the exterior side of things, this place may not seem all that inviting - but their chicken teriyaki is where it's at, so don't judge a "restaurant by it's cover." I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Plate, Veggie Bowl, and Chicken Teriyaki Tacos. And, wow their chicken is so tender, juicy, and flavorful even though the plate itself doesn't seem like it has enough (teriyaki) sauce. The portions are decent and filling - but what really took me away was how tender and nicely marinated the meat was. For the side salad that comes with the plate, I got their house dressing, and it did not disappoint! The Veggie Bowl comes with your usual cabbage, broccoli, and carrots with rice and even this bowl - the veggies were so nicely steamed! And, of course, the Chicken Teriyaki Tacos were very scrumptious (still $1 a piece)! P.S. they didn't give out extra salsa for the tacos but even then, each bite was very delicious - definitely the chicken teriyaki meat has a huge part on that (IMO)! They cut it tableside and serve it lettuce, kitchen, and radishes. I prefer my bulgogi to be with a slight char but this was authentic (i think) The banchan (not pictured) was fresh and so good! The spicy cucumber and fish cakes are my favorite! Being a Japanese/Korean restaurant, they use those languages' different pronunciations of that same word. Word that means "beef cutlet," which is this place's specialty. They offer several levels of meat quality, all the way up to Wagyu A5, which will set you back $100 per person. Besides the expensive meat, they also offer much more affordable Japanese and Korean everyday foods, from Ramen to Udon, Bulgogi, all sorts of Donburi (rice bowl with beef, pork, chicken etc.) We had Katsu Curry (fried pork cutlet in curry sauce) and beef donburi (beef bowl with rice). The food was truly excellent. The meat was tender, and the portions were abundant. The cutlet was lightly fried and nanaged to be at the same time crispy and tender. But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. If you order all these dishes with a group of 4 people, this will fill you up. Banana Latte: Tasted more of the latte than the banana. Gamberry Rose Pasta: Don't play with the spicy level. It's not death spicy but it's a bit like Shin Ramen spicy. Would not recommend this dish for my non tolerant spicy people. Pasta is wonderful though, sauce was like uni cream, there were bits of masago (tiny fish eggs) to add a nice texture, 2-3 regular shrimp and a jumbo shrimp in the dish. Beet Tataki Salad: Would highly recommend for anyone! The beef was cooked so well, medium rare on the inside and the outside sliced edges were really crispy! Salad was refreshingly and dressed well with their vinaigrette, tomato, and shredded cheese. Gambas: Not my favorite dish. The sliced bread was presented in the skillet so bottom portion of the bread was overly greasy. There was too much olive oil at the bottom of the pan than necessary. Toasted whole garlic and olives, I think the only redeemable feature of the dish would be the shrimp.“
