We've rounded up Solvang's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“This place was recommended to me by King Fredericks and I am so happy they did!! Thank you Rhoda! I ordered the red chilaqulas spicy and it was so good. I'd ordered them with scrambled eggs and got fried egg instead but it wasn't bad. Love the salsa. Love the staff, they're all so friendly and that is hard to find these days. Thank you Taco Rocos for a great first experience and I will be back!!“
“Small little taco shop, nothing compared to socal tacos but the food was okay and the service was great. We had to send the enchilada platter back since the entire plate was cold even after they reheated it. However, the staff questioned why we didn’t eat it and offered us full refund for the food. Great service so we left the refund as a tip for the servers.“
“Sebastian was amazing and knowledgeable about the wines he served us. I came with my boyfriend, my dad and his friend. We each finished the wine tasting flight and bought some popcorn. I really like the ambiance and set up of this winery. Very cozy and colorful. Thank you Sebastian“
“Menu was large, may be a little too much for some but certainly enough for variety. They had 3 different menus, a little overwhelming to look over. However, the cook/cashier was very friendly, the food came out quick in about 5 minutes and it was delicious. We had 2 hamburgers and 1 carne asada taco. Hamburgers tasted fresh. The taco had a nice cook on the tortilla, carne asada was tender and juicy, onions were cooked, and the hot sauce that came with it had a deep depth of flavor and perfect level of spiciness. Went last night and we're going back today!“
“I was a little concerned because I'd seen they had a 3.7 rating on one site but I wanted to try them. We were the only ones there sadly and the waitress was friendly and efficient. I tried a Danish sausage platter w potato pancake and red cabbage and I also had a bowl of pea soup. Husband had chicken picatta and roast potatoes and veg. All was delicious. I hope people look at the good reviews and try them. They hv a nice indoors and an outside patio. The DO need to stop giving out a very raggedy, torn drinks menu though.“
“The best Mexican food in the area with great ambiance! I love coming here when we're visiting because the food and service are consistently on point. This evening we had an a wonderful waiter with a beard. I didn't catch his name but we received great service from him at our small table for two by the fireplace. The restaurant does close early (8pm on Fridays) for some of us LA folks who are used to eating dinner much later on; however, I do love an early dinner so the closing time didn't bother us. We had the guacamole and the key lime pie for dessert - both were good. I also appreciated that they took down our phone number so we could step outside the restaurant while we waited. Street parking is very easy on the main road. They are a walk-in only restaurant, so do be prepared for a wait (especially if it's rainy weather).“
“The food was like someones mama made it in all the best ways. Delicious fresh tasting sauces. The green enchiladas made me happy. The new patio was comfortable. My wife said that the marguerita was top notch as well. Quality people and food.“
“The cashier exemplified hospitality. Super kind while running the whole front of house. Food was amazing, but we have come to expect that on the Central Coast. Carnitas Burrito was perfect. Pork tender and juicy with zero blobs of fat.Salsa bar is legendary!“
“We were visiting Solvang and on our second night we ventured out and found this place. Food is delicious! We got a burrito and a plate of asada with rice and beans. Meat was very tasty. Service was great, we were checked on several times. Space is limited inside, there is seating in the patio. It's a small and cozy place with great good and service. Overall, I am very please and satisfied with our food.“
“What a wonderful small hidden treasure. My husband and I found this on the last night of our 4 day stay in Solvang. Food was simply delicious. Very authentic. I had the taco plate and my husband had the chicken fajitas. I've rarely had such deep flavors in the chicken and steak. The beans- homemade and so good. Rice was good. But the salsa was out of this world. Get the freshly made chips. They're extra but I wish I would have brought an order home. Same with the homemade salsa!! I got a bottle of beer and the nicest young man brought me a chilled mug and 2 limes. This is why we love dining at a small family owned establishment. We'll be back!“
