“I feel like there’s an unwritten bay area vegan rule that if you see a GATS sticker or tag, the place is solid - this spot has 3 so you know it’s real, lol. For reals though this is a go-to for my wife and I, the crew are always so damn kind and they have mad vegan options. Come get you a not-chicken sandwich (don’t be an idiot and come here and get upset it isn’t real meat), some fries with vegan ranch, and any of the drinks- they’re all good. Then post up on the patio and chill. Also if they have the pistachio praline soft serve: do it. Twice. Not a giant menu but they don’t need one… everything on it is good.Dietary restrictions: Vegan / Vegetarian only restaurant, the staff is always on point making sure you get what you ordered if you didn’t want the dairy version (thanks guys)”
“Tried the Charlie pizza and burrata appetizer. The pizza is excellent - best I've found in the area. The crust is crispy and airy but tender inside. Sauce is simple and good and the toppings are top quality. The burrata is served with oven dried tomatoes and fry bread, and is just outstanding. Nice job!”
“Went here on a whim last night with my boyfriend and I'm still thinking about how delicious and affordable it was! They have a varied menu and many options for vegans like myself. We got the vegetable chow mein, hot sake, spring rolls and the ma pao tofu (amazing). Everything tasted freshly prepared and seasoned really well. I'll definitely be going back soon!”
“We are regulars of El Chipotle Taqueria. First, the people are so nice, especially the owner. We have eaten there, but we mostly pick up food. We love everything! Tacos, burritos, platos, my husband loves their salmon. I'm not saying it's gourmet food, but it's hot, fresh, made to order and does not disappoint a hungry stomach.”
“Fantastic place to have a tasty glass of wine or to enjoy a flight of five different wines. Bargetto offers three different flights, although their bottle purchase selection exceeds that. My favorite for the day was a reserve Pinot and a reserve Cab. They have a large patio overlooking the Soquel Creek which is my favorite place to sit (well, not when it's raining). Lastly, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you will leave feeling like you made some new friends. 5/5!”
“This was an excellent little cafe. My husband and I were in town for a mini getaway and wanted to find a nice place for breakfast. I am vegetarian and always look on Yelp for places that have vegetarian options. This place was great, both with the quality of the food and with the excellent service we received from our waitress. She was very friendly and hospitable; she kept my coffee cup full. I don't remember the name of the dish, but it was a large portion of their country potatoes topped with lots of fresh sauteed veggies and a little melted cheese; I had sourdough toast as well. It was THE BEST breakfast dish I have ever had in a restaurant; the ingredients were so fresh and not overly cooked at all. My husband had a wonderful plate of food as well (although he declined to have his food photographed); it was a combination plate with one waffle, eggs over medium and sausage - I don't remember if he had potatoes or toast (he should have let me take a photo ;) ). If we are ever back in the area we will definitely come back to Sunrise Cafe. :)”
“Have you tried the blackened chicken burger/sandwich? If not, run, don't walk to get yourself one. Life changing. Amazing. This thing is massive and so delicious. Can't wait to have it again for lunch . Worth every penny . I'd give it more stars if it was possible”
“Pretty darn solid brewery in Soquel/Santa Cruz area. More inland, so more locals than tourist. Looks like they invested and built the facility for themselves with a metal barn-like building for the tap room and brewery, equipt with solar energy to power their operations. Their outdoor area is much more impressive than their indoors and seems 85% of the action happens out there. There's table seating, counter seating and communal benches, most are under a cover. Lots of dogs and locals, you can just feel the buzz of the community here. I only did a quick sampling of several beers here as I had plans to eat in the neighborhood for dinner. But they do have a small menu with appetizers and sandwiches that looked really promising, and the pics prove that I'm going to have to try some on my next visit for sure. I loved their website before I even ventured in. It has their story in a concise manner and the way they describe their beers are very entertaining if not poetic and creative, which I have to pound my chest and nod to. Like they describe their Shimmer Pils as having "a shimmery depth, like light on a fathomless sea.' Lol. And their Ten Million Flower's Kolsh is called so because it took ten million flowers for bees to make the honey that goes into this brew. If James Joyce and/or Walt Whitman lived in this town, I could see them being patrons here. Their beer flight you can choose up to six from their current tap selection, which I think was around 16 taps. That's a lot, like it was hard in making a decision and it would probably take me at least 6 visits to get a full grasp/opinion on their body of work. They also have brews in cans in a fridge that may not necessarily be on tap. I went last summer and their current line up is much different than what was being offered on my visit. So FYI things are in a constant state of flow here, hope you're flexible and adventurous. If you get cans to-go, you can mix and match whatever flavors you want, which I thought was a nice bonus. I really liked 2 light brews I tried. The above Pils and Kolsh were remarkably light and crisp and clean. I liked the Kolsh a tad more, had more depth and uniqueness. Liked their Mosaic hopped Pale Ale as I like a strong hop presence, but I often don't want the malt and gravity of IPA's. I did try a couple of IPA's as well as most of my buddies are into them, and I had to bring something back. Also tried a Black Lager and that was pretty much true to style. I also bet that my tasting would have evolved and been more complete with some bites of food, but that'll just have to wait for the next out. Digging their style and their efforts, so an inevitable return is on queue.”
“A beautiful place to taste and the wines are excellent. Gary was a fantastic host! Stephanie, the tasting room manager, was super informative and very fun to talk with. Highly recommend.”
“Friends and I had brunch at this new jewel of a spot in Capitola. Right off the freeway with service being quick allowing us to get in and out. The calamari was lightly breaded with the best homemade cocktail sauce I've ever had. The onion rings fried to perfection and the veggie omelette was soooo cheesy. The food was mouth watering and then I took a bite and my taste buds did the cha cha cha. Cha Ching! I scored, food is is dynamic and well priced. The servers came back three times but didn't hover. The restaurant is colorful and vibrant just like the food. I couldn't resist taking a bite out of my friend's hot pastrami too!”
“This is such a cute little restaurant! We were greeted right when we came in and I noticed how clean and tidy this place was. We had just gotten Chinese food in San Jose that wasn't the best and we needed REDEMPTION. And redemption was found in Ming's Palace. We ordered the "Family Dinner" and don't you dare judge that there were only two of us. The minimum is 2 people! The one we ordered has hot and sour soup (yummmmmm), almond chicken (so yummm), sweet & sour pork (crispy with a perfect sauce), pork fried rice (loved), and Mongolian beef (a little salty). My fiancé and I enjoyed our food very much and we were checked on multiple times. Great experience! I want to go back already!”
“TLDR: Great bottle shop with excellent selection. While I can't speak on the tap room experience, I can say that Beer Thirty has an excellent selection of cans and bottles. If you're into craft beer, the area is great with Sante Adairius, Private Press, Humble Sea, and Lupulo all nearby. What also makes the area great for craft beer is the selection at Beer Thirty. If you're traveling along the 1, this can be a good spot to replenish your craft beer for your road trip. With selections from Russian River, SARA, Beachwood Blendery, Bottle Logic, Pure Project, Cantillon, and more, you are sure to find something you'll like for any palete. If you're driving here, there is a small lot at the front, with street parking along S Main Street. Staff was friendly and helpful, and overall, an enjoyable experience for purchasing craft beer.”
“Bottom line - super yummy sandwiches. Fresh and high quality stuff up and down the menu. Super fun and paired with some good quality beers for the ultimate casual weekend lunch”
“On our way to Sunset beach we wanted to watch The Warriors vs Celtics game we came in. When you look up "dive bar" this will come up however, I recommend it! Susie Froggies has a very relaxed feel. They have a wood burning stove and pool tables. The bartender welcomed us in when we came in. Full bar with bar munchies - he offered us frozen pizza and or burritos he would microwave for us, chips and beef jerky available BUT they allow you to bring in your own food! We went across the street to El Chipotle and brought back Birria burritos and chips. There are 4 TVs with different sports on. Lots of locals came in and the bartender knew their names! A locals "Cheers". Have to visit at least once!”
“I find this restaurant to be a very sweet treat. It's the only place in town. I can find beef cheeks, if you've never had them you should try them. The most delectable mouthwatering, juicy meat falls apart in your mouth like butter. I miss when they used to have the pizza oven, but everything else is rather delicious so I'll let it pass. Don't be over sold by the squid ink pasta, it's not that great. Always order the Barada, it's super fresh and absolutely delicious”
