“I found this place when I was searching for a special/unique birthday cake that I have never tried before. The halo halo cake caught my attention instantly. I personally love eating halo halo so I was super excited to surprise my boyfriend with it. I pre-ordered it ahead of time. Store pickup was easy. The overall halo halo cake taste was good but felt something is missing. Maybe we just prefer the halo halo dessert more than a cake form but definitely recommend to give it a try.“
“This is a decent little bakery, as long as your expectations are realistic, e.g. it's not a grand old world place with glamorous intricate confectionary type slices, etc. Nor is it a European style Solvang type bakery where you can smell it 5 blocks away. This is more of a place to get some baked gifts, both savory and sweet, they have some Asian rolls and dumplings but in pastry form. The selections, on a Sat afternoon, were a bit meager but it's possible they start running out late morning, especially if it's a weekend. The lady who served us was very kind and the orders were reasonable. Parking is difficult but not impossible.“
“I came across Doodlecakes in an Alameda Facebook group post, and I'm so glad I did! I asked Rebekah for a custom Skyline Chili cake for my friend's birthday, and was amazed to see she achieved EXACTLY what I was imagining! My friend was blown away when they saw it :)There were many tempting flavors for a custom cake! After hearing recommendations from Rebekah about what would work best for the design (she clearly knows what she's doing), I ordered a vanilla cake with a mix of vanilla/cream cheese frosting, and whipped cream filling with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The cake was absolutely delicious--everyone at the party raved about how it was moist with the perfect level of sweetness.Doodlecakes was very communicative about the delivery as well! I was texted about any delays, and called to ensure the cake made it to me safely after I asked a housemate to receive it for me.All in all, it was easy and a pleasure to work with Doodlecakes on a custom order. I paid $110 for my 6" custom cake + delivery + tax, and it was well worth it! I'll definitely be coming back to Doodlecakes and sending my friends their way for any custom cake needs :)“
“Best bakery in the city! Got my husband a carrot cake for his birthday and it was so delicious, hands down the best cake i've had. They wrote happy birthday on it for me in any color i wanted too. It was $50 for a 8 in cake which fed all 20+ adults and is incredibly affordable when you compare to the chains like susie's. I'll be back any time i need a cake!“
“My Experience of Black Jet is not one from visiting the shop itself and i feel both lucky and mad about it lol. When you and your coworkers have sweet tooth’s good treats end up in the break room.So far I’ve tried:Chocolate Chip Cookie W/ sea Salt(awesomeness)Pop Tart(awesomeness)Strawberry Ruhbarb Pastry(it was ok not bitter, felt like the breading could have been better. But still a very good pastry)Scone(I believe it was blueberry and it awesomeness. Not a scone person at all but this one was not dry and didn’t just fall apart either.)Kid-friendliness: Pop Tarts! Come one come all!“
“Mazzetti's bakery knocked it out of the park with our wedding cake. We discovered Mazzetti's through our wedding vendor, Wedgewood Weddings. Nice knowing there was already a designated cake vendor who would deliver to our venue without any extra stress and coordination on our part. Sampling- when ready to taste test, simply email to share a day that you will pick up your sample box. We were given 9 cupcakes with various flavor options. Style: In an email, we received sample photos and options of cake flavors and decorations. I think this process could be upgraded with tech to make it more interactive, rather than a non-writable pdf attachment. Tech aside, the pictures helped share the combinations of options and process simple with Mazzetti's reaching back out by email closer to the wedding date to confirm party size and flavors chosen. Cake: Taste- I'll definitely be going back for more! We chose the following: Top- white with apricot filling Middle- red velvet with cream cheese frosting Bottom- carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Fun being able to choose different flavors for each tier. Our guests loved all of them! As most bride/grooms, we didn't even get to eat the cake at our wedding because we were too busy dancing, but our venue packed up a sample box to go which we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning, savoring every bite! Overall- glad to have found a new local bakery I trust. Even will make the 45 min drive out to Pacifica to visit Mazzetti's on weekends, which always has a line of locals out the door. Check this place out for quick sweets or scheduled parties and celebrations. They won't disappoint!“
“These were literally the best cupcakes I have ever had. We had them delivered for our small wedding reception and no less than 10 people out of the 30 there asked where we got them because they were that amazing. People even talked about them the following day. We had: chocolate tres leches, caramel, tres leches, passionfruit, red velvet. We also had them delivered and they were very punctual and easy to work with. Thank you, La Luna!!“
“I had a Hello Kitty cake made earlier this month, and it was delicious. The design was a match to the idea I presented, and the best part of all was the customer service. The person I talked to over the phone was super attentive and followed through with my requests with so much ease. It was a great experience, and I on having more custom cakes made with them!“
“Went to Firebrand Artisan Breads's Alameda location recently, which is always a great excuse to eat more pastries! ? Seating inside is kind of awkward, as it's positioned around the ordering line, but there's also an outside patio. Be sure to bring a sweater, though, because you never know how much of a breeze is going to kick up on that end of Alameda. My friend went for the BLT, made on Firebrand bread, of course! I opted for the spicy chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic! So flavorful without going over my spice limit. The dressing for the side salads was quite nice as well, though I do prefer when a salad is more than just lettuce.Of course, there's also those pretty pastries! I split them with Ben later on. My favorite was probably the espresso buckwheat chocolate chip cookie, which had the right amount of bitterness for me to combine with the sweet. The matcha croissant was filled to the brim inside with a very creamy matcha sauce. Quite tasty! But you do lose the bread in the midst of that cream. The hazelnut chocolate kouign amann hit the spot, and its filling was also creamier than I expected.I'm glad Firebrand could expand to Alameda!“
“Stacy and her team work pure magic with their culinary skills. The balanced sweetness of the cake with a touch of sea salt was nothing less than perfection. They consider every small suggestion/recommendation and coordinates superbly so that you can you can surprise your loved one without worrying. Thanks for helping me in making my sister's birthday a memorable one.“
“If you are gluten free or know someone who is, you have found your nirvana. Glorious flavors, beautiful creations and pure joy in a pink box. I've had these gf cupcakes many times, and they never disappoint. Friendly and prompt delivery available. Superb in every way.“
“I custom ordered the Peppa pig themed birthday cake (chocolate cake with mixed berry butter cream filling). Maricel was extremely helpful and professional. The cake was reasonable priced and turned out so well and delicious! Can't wait to order our next one from them.“
“I have Nothing Bundt good things to say about this place. The food items (cakes, mini cakes and Bundtini's) are the best! I always get great service from the staff and the ambiance is sweet when you enter the building (no pun intended!)“
“Ordered strawberry, Almond and matcha mochi cubes .Love the strawberry so much !Crispy puff inside with custard, strawberry cream with slice strawberries on top , super delicious ! Sauce is light , delicate and flavorful ( pulp inside ).Mochi Cubes is ok , it’s not crispy texture , but matcha cream light and you can tell they used good matcha powder.Almond is too rich for me , but still good .“
“Had a going away soirée for a co-worker and wanted to grab some Chinese pastries. I also didn't want to head all the way to Chinatown. Found Kings on Yelp and it hit the spot. Unusual to find an Asian- Latin bakery in the Outer Mission , but glad I found it! It's a quasi self serve place- grab a pizza pan, some tongs, then have at it! I got a dozen cocktail buns and half dozen baked pork buns. Smelled great on my drive back to the office. Tasted even better! I'll be back-“
“Very cute bakery and very good cupcakes. You can't go wrong with any of the cupcake flavors. The vegan options are better than any other vegan cupcakes I've tried. My favorite was the key lime pie, which had a key lime curd in the middle.“
“Following a gluten free diet, I am so happy to be able to enjoy the treats from Binka Bites. I have been to both of their locations and been greeted warmly by the staff. My mother and I opted to sit down and enjoy our treats in the Millbrae location. It was bright and welcoming. The hot coffee and chocolate paired well with the classic bibingka bite.“
“Paola and Miguel have done an amazing job with the cake. The cake was so delicious and tasty our guests loved it. We ordered Neapolitan chocolate cake and it turned out to be the highlight of the party. Thank you cake shop for making our child's day special. I would highly recommend this place.“
“I was recommended to get the dirty chai latte and the ube tres leches cake. The ube tres leches cake is hands down one of the best things I had ever! The dirty chai latte was meh. Highly recommend their baked goods! There isn’t much place to sit and eat though.“
