“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“
“Great place run by good people who grew up in the neighborhood! Their sandwiches are fresh and full of layers of quality meat. The smoker outside says it all. Support our locals and grab a T Line on Dutch Crunch next time you're in the Oceanview!“
“Having iftar here in Ramadan was an amazing experience! The place is decorated for Ramadan, there is a beautiful, clean prayer area with lots of head scarves available for women to pray. They had a specialPlaylist for ramadan too. The service was excellent. Loved the tea. The food was good too. Thank you for this wonderful experience in Ramadan!“
“hyderabadi dum biryani, cheese naan, nihari, all superb. not sure about authenticity because i’ve never traveled to the region but, dang, if it’s better than this i might have to move there. service is always good too, and the pay first, serve your own water/ utensils format is very convenient.“
“Tasty Egyptian food in the TenderNob. Affordable prices and nice portion sizes. The lamb and beef shawarma is always a hit in dish form or wrap. And so is the hummus. The Koshari was delicious. It was a beautiful symphony of different flavors and textures. The jute plant soup on the other hand is an acquired taste for sure. Tasty but texture wise.Dietary restrictions: Veggie options“
“Everything was well worth its price! Every plate had an exceptionally generous serving of meat, and everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The hummus and olive oil were excellent, pitas were nicely firm, and falafel had a crunchy outside. I wish there were more vegetables to balance out the meat and grains, but otherwise everything was perfect!Vegetarian options: This restaurant's specialties are meat, but there are multiple vegetarian options and I bet they all taste great.Wheelchair accessibility: Nicely spaced tables that waiters can move as you need, and no ramps or stairs. Door is not powered.“
“One of San Francisco's hidden gems ?! We had just returned from visiting The Wiz in Emerald City. Tough trip, so we were hungry. We goggle nearby restaurants and saw that Z Zoul Cafe was only a ten minute walk away at 295 Eddy St. It was Super Bowl Sunday, so the streets were kind of empty. We found the place. The first thing we noticed was how small but quaint it was. We were greeted by one of the owners and seated right away. We were served hot and spicy tea that was delicious! The menu was small, but the choices were great! The four of us ordered different things so we could share. I decided on the Beef Kofta that came with a green salad, Basmati rice with Tahini sauce and hummus, which you could tell was freshly made. When the food arrived, we were shocked and pleased that the amount was huge! We were told they believed in making sure you had plenty. We did! The beef was very, very tender and tasty! None of us were disappointed with anything. I will say that when you go, try the Dalya Pudding. It's made with Egyptian rice and has the right amount of sweetness. We all had leftovers to take home. The price for all of us was far less than we would have paid at well-known restaurants and totally worth it! I know we will be returning to Z Zoul. It's five stars worth it ! By the way, the word Zoul means, 'friend'. Indeed.“
“If I were local, I'd eat here every night! We were the first to walk in on a Friday night and I was worried maybe the reviews were hype... Then the food arrived.Wow!I can't recommend this place highly enough. And if you've never eaten lamb, this is the place to have that be and incredible experience. ???✅️“
“This place is sooo good it was worth the drive! The place is super clean and fun!The burrito was 10/10, and it is huge. I totally understand why is this price! The guacamole was delicious! The cashier was a really nice guy, and he made sure everyone had their needs met and he didn’t stop one minute! Between cleaning, greeting and etc… he is awesome! You guys are luck to have him!We are definitely coming back!“
“Here's why i give them 5 stars:Food is excellent, service is super frendly, parking is easy. The Butter chicken is darn good. The great thing about tis place are the menu specials, a type of "bento box" Indian Style. I loved it...you get TWO food options, plus a small salad and a dessert. It also comes with a Chai teaSPECIAL BONUS: the prices are VERY inexpensive for a restaurant in San Francisco. The two item menus were $14.95?“
“The food was really good, but the prices (Bay area??)...But what really got me...(not a resident) is that when you order on the touch screen there is a "Tip" section before placing ...This is TOTALLY wrong!! Why would anyone need to pay a tip before they got their food or had any service???I was coerced to pay a tip or pay a higher menu price because I didn't want to think about the possible consequences otherwise...?.This doesn't make for customer loyalty...sorry...never again!“
“After all the holiday food we needed something lighter, and this hit the spot! Way more than the office lunch space it looks like.We got the vegetarian combo plate and were blown away by the amazing dips and tabbouleh. Sometimes tabbouleh can feel flat (and too full of parsley), but this one felt fresh and well balanced. The bread was soft and delicious.Wish we got a photo, the presentation was pretty too.“
“Was walking home and needed to have a late night dinner. This place was conveniently placed on my way back to Richmond. I ordered the bullseye burger and it really hit the spot. The portion was on point. Lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeño, beef bacon, and a perfectly cooked, juicy halal beef patty on a substantial and voluminous bun. The best part was that the burger was accompanied by a generous heaping pile of shoestring fries :) I’m also glad I ordered the honey garlic wings to go. I was surprised by how meaty they were… I can’t wait to try all of the other halal items on the menu at this hidden gem ?Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“Wonderful spot and one of the best lunch options in Richmond. The gyros are light yet filling, and extremely tasty, exactly as they should be. I get the platter that includes rice. They also have excellent fresh orange juice for most of the day. Lastly, really friendly and community oriented staff.“
“So happy to have found this place -- by far the best Indian food I've had on the Peninsula, SF, or anywhere. Everything is incredibly flavorful & fresh. Best chana masala, bengan bartha, bhindi masala, and dal I've had anywhere. And low oil without having to ask!Great for in-person dining and takeout. The decor and ambiance are delightful and outdoor seating area (w option for hookah) is beautiful and comfortable-looking.“
“Service is amazing. For some apparent reason the act didn't show my specific instructions. I came back to switch out the food. Let me keep the original fruit that they made, and they made me new food and had me pay for the additions and I recommend this place!!!! Might I add this is the best burger I've had IN THE WHOLE CITY!!!!“
“Visited this amazing Halal breakfast place not so long ago. I ran towards it the moment I heard about it. Ignore the QR code cliche of the reviewers the attendants are very helpful in taking the order esp if you have a disability. Ppl with disability must try this place - the owner Muhammad was very cordial and helpful. I tried their fried chicken Benedict - it was Dee-li-cious!! I also ordered their black tea and coffee there is room for a-lot of improvement there. Over all I loved it . The collection of the music was also nice . I wish we have more halal places in town. I will be going back more often ti try the rest of the menu.:)Ps: A special thanks to my lady server. She served me with a lot of care , took me to the rest-room and even laid the toilet paper for me. Who does that these days .❤️“
“Shawarma is absolutely delicious! The tender, flavorful meat, combined with fresh vegetables and creamy sauces, creates a mouthwatering experience. It's the perfect balance of savory and tangy flavors. I highly recommend trying shawarma if you haven't already!??❤️“
“March 2023: This gem of a place is still here, post pandemic (if there is such a thing), and their service and food is top notch! Please drop by and show some love, chicken salad comes with a lot of protein and is fairly priced for the area.Old review: I had a hunkering for Mediterranean-style cooked meat and fries. This place hit that spot.Located in FIDI on Battery (between Pine and Battery/Bush intersection). Went at noon and the place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Slight wait for my food after ordering but that's expected at noon.Food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered the Greek plate with chicken. Came with a bunch of fries, meat, a big dollop of tzhiki (sp?) sauce and some pita bread. It was good.I'll be back to try a salad next time. 3.6 stars that rounds up to 4 stars for the service.“
“Best Middle Eastern food I've ever had, and I lived in the Middle East for 3 years! Great service very fast and hot. Can't believe this place only has 4.5Vegetarian options: Falafel, salad, Baklava, HummusKid-friendliness: Staff was so friendly and were so happy at how much we enjoyed the food. Truly authentic!“
“Stumbled on this place quite by accident - since its not a very visible place. Was surprised by how good and fresh the good was, and awesome shakes. Has become our regular go-to burger joint, and on a nice sunny day the outdoor seating is perfect with the great food.“
“Our experience was marred because of a large table of very loud young men. It was difficult to have a conversation. I wish people would be more considerate, and realize that there are other people in a restaurant. Otherwise, the food and service was very good. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and was happy to see some new choices on the menu. “
“Going back into the office three days a week is tough. Well, at least I can eat at my old favorite restaurants around Fidi again. Oasis Grill is still around. I can't believe it. Most of Drumm st. feel abandoned. We got the beef shawarma wrap $17 and a vegan deluxe bowl $14. It didn't taste as good as before though. Still very good. My shawarma wrap had plenty of meat and had a lot of flavor. Good job everyone at Oasis Grill.“
“We all had different dishes. We had the lamb, the prime rib, and the two chicken dishes. The server was lovely and welcoming. The food was so good and so fairly priced for the portions and taste! The place was empty and it does not deserve to be!“
“Fantastic place with fantastic food! Especially recommend their baklavas, sumac onions and exceptionally creamy hummus and tahini. And their hibiscus tea! It is so nice how you can build your own meal and get just what you like. They often email you really good promotions with discounts and my wife and I have never had a bad experience! It is always a treat to get the food delivered on a special occasion.Thank you for the great food, Sajj!“
“Well , to start off I do believe I was the first of the day, so you guys really need to clean the grill a lot better !!! the meat tastes burnt!!! other than that the flavors were there , the pickle the lettuce, yogurt sauce, the dill. The pitas were perfect 10 outta 10 . WAYY SMALL PORTIONS!!! S SIGN OF THE TIMES I GUESS...“
“Best food on campus. Been a regular here for years. The customer service is always fantastic and the food quality has always been amazing. I've been coming here regularly at least once a week for 9 years now. The chicken over rice is my main meal and I could not recommend it any higher to you.“
“This is such a wonderful and warm place. The staff and owner are very cordial and kind. The food and especially the halal pizza were exceptional. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat. I would also like to especially thank Dixit who was so kind and helpful.5 stars!!“
“We had an amazing dining experience. The pani puri and samosa chat were exceptional, bursting with flavors. Special thanks for the delightful surprise of free chai and cookies, a perfect ending to a delicious meal. Can't wait to visit again!“
“I love this restaurant. Not many places have Haleem and Nihari, but this one does! Everything we had was delicious. I ordered chicken Haleem and my fiancé has the Paneer Tikka Masala. The paneer masala was flavorful with a slight sweetness. The naan was huge! And the aloo naan was delicious as well.“
“Dear Diary - First time trying Chicken G and I definitely enjoyed the patience and recommendation they offered. Their chicken was juicy and the crust was amazingly crunchy! I had a side of fries which was well seasoned and they provided complimentary sauces to try. Will definitely try other offerings when I am back in town.“
“Falafel plate and lamb gyro wrap which comes with fries were outstanding. Ask for extra wrap sauce if needed. As good as the gyros in Berlin. Service is excellent, very welcoming. Outside seating is nice. Inside seating is not bad.Vegetarian options: Falafel“
“Gosh, I absolutely LOVE Sajj. It is so quick, perfect when you're in a rush, but still want something yummy and healthy. Think mediterranean-style Chipotle. I love the chicken shawafel or pomegranate chicken bowl. Every single topping on there is a perfect fit. I usually get all the spreads and can't choose a favorite. You can't go wrong with the toppings, but I usually add the sumac cauliflower, onions, cucumbers, cherry peppers, arugula, and mint leaves, finished off with either the spicy tahini or cilantro mint chutney. I know some people love the lentil soup. The baklava is so flaky and nutty. Most of the locations I've been to are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is helpful and pack on the toppings on your bowl. I absolutely LOVE Sajj, I even have a loyalty/newsletter (which I almost never do). Definitely recommend.“
“Came here to order the beef and pork bowls, and a Bing Fen jelly dessert. I enjoyed them all and it was a quick to go order I brought home for dinner on my way home. Right in front of the L-Taraval bus stop. Easy meter parking in area too. Close to library. The owner was so nice and friendly. Explained items to me in English. Use of ordering through automation was new to me. Nice with all the visuals! Zero contact if paying my credit card.“
“Old Mandarin is such a treat to have in my neighborhood. It is our standby for when we need comfort food or a high quality meal to take houseguests. The owners/staff are incredibly friendly and the food is consistently fantastic. I recommend the cumin lamb and green onion pancakes.“
“Flavorful Food, Needs Faster Service. They offer a delicious taste of the Mediterranean food. Their baklava, lamb chops, kunafa, falafel, and various pies were all cooked perfectly. The Turkish coffee and tea added a nice, authentic touch to the meal. Their Double Meat Back Home Shawarma was great and flavorful.Unfortunately, the service was quite slow. If you have the time to spare, the food is worth the wait. If you're in a hurry, maybe try takeout.“
