“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“

“Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able. The workers are super nice and show a lot of hospitality. I really like the ambiance and how the dine in experience is as well with the music they play and how It has a family style vibe that makes it really inviting. Overall, one of 16th streets best eats. Enjoy!“

The hummus and olive oil were excellent, pitas were nicely firm, and falafel had a crunchy outside. I wish there were more vegetables to balance out the meat and grains, but otherwise everything was perfect!Vegetarian options: This restaurant's specialties are meat, but there are multiple vegetarian options and I bet they all taste great.Wheelchair accessibility: Nicely spaced tables that waiters can move as you need, and no ramps or stairs. “One of San Francisco's hidden gems ?! We had just returned from visiting The Wiz in Emerald City. Tough trip, so we were hungry. We goggle nearby restaurants and saw that Z Zoul Cafe was only a ten minute walk away at 295 Eddy St. It was Super Bowl Sunday, so the streets were kind of empty. We found the place. The first thing we noticed was how small but quaint it was. We were greeted by one of the owners and seated right away. We were served hot and spicy tea that was delicious! The menu was small, but the choices were great! The four of us ordered different things so we could share. I decided on the Beef Kofta that came with a green salad, Basmati rice with Tahini sauce and hummus, which you could tell was freshly made. When the food arrived, we were shocked and pleased that the amount was huge! We were told they believed in making sure you had plenty. We did! The beef was very, very tender and tasty! None of us were disappointed with anything. I will say that when you go, try the Dalya Pudding. It's made with Egyptian rice and has the right amount of sweetness. We all had leftovers to take home. The price for all of us was far less than we would have paid at well-known restaurants and totally worth it! I know we will be returning to Z Zoul. It's five stars worth it ! By the way, the word Zoul means, 'friend'. Indeed.“

The portion was on point. Lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeño, beef bacon, and a perfectly cooked, juicy halal beef patty on a substantial and voluminous bun. The best part was that the burger was accompanied by a generous heaping pile of shoestring fries :) I’m also glad I ordered the honey garlic wings to go. This place hit that spot.Located in FIDI on Battery (between Pine and Battery/Bush intersection). Went at noon and the place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Slight wait for my food after ordering but that's expected at noon.Food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered the Greek plate with chicken. Came with a bunch of fries, meat, a big dollop of tzhiki (sp?) sauce and some pita bread. It was good.I'll be back to try a salad next time. 3.6 stars that rounds up to 4 stars for the service.“

“Gosh, I absolutely LOVE Sajj. It is so quick, perfect when you're in a rush, but still want something yummy and healthy. Think mediterranean-style Chipotle. I love the chicken shawafel or pomegranate chicken bowl. Every single topping on there is a perfect fit. I usually get all the spreads and can't choose a favorite. You can't go wrong with the toppings, but I usually add the sumac cauliflower, onions, cucumbers, cherry peppers, arugula, and mint leaves, finished off with either the spicy tahini or cilantro mint chutney. I know some people love the lentil soup. The baklava is so flaky and nutty. Most of the locations I've been to are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is helpful and pack on the toppings on your bowl. I absolutely LOVE Sajj, I even have a loyalty/newsletter (which I almost never do). Definitely recommend.“
