“Great place run by good people who grew up in the neighborhood! Their sandwiches are fresh and full of layers of quality meat. The smoker outside says it all. Support our locals and grab a T Line on Dutch Crunch next time you're in the Oceanview!“
“Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able. The workers are super nice and show a lot of hospitality. I really like the ambiance and how the dine in experience is as well with the music they play and how It has a family style vibe that makes it really inviting. Overall, one of 16th streets best eats. Enjoy!“
“Having iftar here in Ramadan was an amazing experience! The place is decorated for Ramadan, there is a beautiful, clean prayer area with lots of head scarves available for women to pray. They had a specialPlaylist for ramadan too. The service was excellent. Loved the tea. The food was good too. Thank you for this wonderful experience in Ramadan!“
“We made a reservation for breakfast for our group. It was a special occasion, as we had guests who traveled internationally & we were also celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious! The staff was outstanding- we'd like to shout out Daniela and Carla for going above & beyond in their service. I'll definitely be back.“
“Everything was well worth its price! Every plate had an exceptionally generous serving of meat, and everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The hummus and olive oil were excellent, pitas were nicely firm, and falafel had a crunchy outside. I wish there were more vegetables to balance out the meat and grains, but otherwise everything was perfect!Vegetarian options: This restaurant's specialties are meat, but there are multiple vegetarian options and I bet they all taste great.Wheelchair accessibility: Nicely spaced tables that waiters can move as you need, and no ramps or stairs. Door is not powered.“
“If I were local, I'd eat here every night! We were the first to walk in on a Friday night and I was worried maybe the reviews were hype... Then the food arrived.Wow!I can't recommend this place highly enough. And if you've never eaten lamb, this is the place to have that be and incredible experience. ???✅️“
“This place is sooo good it was worth the drive! The place is super clean and fun!The burrito was 10/10, and it is huge. I totally understand why is this price! The guacamole was delicious! The cashier was a really nice guy, and he made sure everyone had their needs met and he didn’t stop one minute! Between cleaning, greeting and etc… he is awesome! You guys are luck to have him!We are definitely coming back!“
“Here's why i give them 5 stars:Food is excellent, service is super frendly, parking is easy. The Butter chicken is darn good. The great thing about tis place are the menu specials, a type of "bento box" Indian Style. I loved it...you get TWO food options, plus a small salad and a dessert. It also comes with a Chai teaSPECIAL BONUS: the prices are VERY inexpensive for a restaurant in San Francisco. The two item menus were $14.95?“
“Two men had one naan and one rice and two curries. The price was reasonable and it was delicious! The chicken curry had a very Korean taste and the lamb had a very strange taste. If you want a more familiar taste, try chicken.I arrived at 9:50 PM and it was nice to be told that I could eat here and leave.Since it's self-service, it's nice to be able to add a tip as well.A place worth stopping by if you are nearby!!“
“After a couple hours of hiking and walking around I found this bistro that had great reviews. Decided to check it out, and it’s as great as the rest of the reviews. Great service and delish food (gyro platter). Perfectly made the way I like it!“
“One of San Francisco's hidden gems ?! We had just returned from visiting The Wiz in Emerald City. Tough trip, so we were hungry. We goggle nearby restaurants and saw that Z Zoul Cafe was only a ten minute walk away at 295 Eddy St. It was Super Bowl Sunday, so the streets were kind of empty. We found the place. The first thing we noticed was how small but quaint it was. We were greeted by one of the owners and seated right away. We were served hot and spicy tea that was delicious! The menu was small, but the choices were great! The four of us ordered different things so we could share. I decided on the Beef Kofta that came with a green salad, Basmati rice with Tahini sauce and hummus, which you could tell was freshly made. When the food arrived, we were shocked and pleased that the amount was huge! We were told they believed in making sure you had plenty. We did! The beef was very, very tender and tasty! None of us were disappointed with anything. I will say that when you go, try the Dalya Pudding. It's made with Egyptian rice and has the right amount of sweetness. We all had leftovers to take home. The price for all of us was far less than we would have paid at well-known restaurants and totally worth it! I know we will be returning to Z Zoul. It's five stars worth it ! By the way, the word Zoul means, 'friend'. Indeed.“
“Was walking home and needed to have a late night dinner. This place was conveniently placed on my way back to Richmond. I ordered the bullseye burger and it really hit the spot. The portion was on point. Lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeño, beef bacon, and a perfectly cooked, juicy halal beef patty on a substantial and voluminous bun. The best part was that the burger was accompanied by a generous heaping pile of shoestring fries :) I’m also glad I ordered the honey garlic wings to go. I was surprised by how meaty they were… I can’t wait to try all of the other halal items on the menu at this hidden gem ?Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“After all the holiday food we needed something lighter, and this hit the spot! Way more than the office lunch space it looks like.We got the vegetarian combo plate and were blown away by the amazing dips and tabbouleh. Sometimes tabbouleh can feel flat (and too full of parsley), but this one felt fresh and well balanced. The bread was soft and delicious.Wish we got a photo, the presentation was pretty too.“
“Service is amazing. For some apparent reason the act didn't show my specific instructions. I came back to switch out the food. Let me keep the original fruit that they made, and they made me new food and had me pay for the additions and I recommend this place!!!! Might I add this is the best burger I've had IN THE WHOLE CITY!!!!“
“Falafel and shawarma shop located in the heart of the Mission. Although seating is limited, we've always seemed to luck out on a seat. They offer free falafel as you order, which is kind of them. My go-to order is the kefta plate. The beef is super tender and their hummus is SO good“
“Visited this amazing Halal breakfast place not so long ago. I ran towards it the moment I heard about it. Ignore the QR code cliche of the reviewers the attendants are very helpful in taking the order esp if you have a disability. Ppl with disability must try this place - the owner Muhammad was very cordial and helpful. I tried their fried chicken Benedict - it was Dee-li-cious!! I also ordered their black tea and coffee there is room for a-lot of improvement there. Over all I loved it . The collection of the music was also nice . I wish we have more halal places in town. I will be going back more often ti try the rest of the menu.:)Ps: A special thanks to my lady server. She served me with a lot of care , took me to the rest-room and even laid the toilet paper for me. Who does that these days .❤️“
“After so-so meals at Rich Table and Flour + Water, it was nice to have some real deal delicious food that wasn’t trying to hard. Just simple but delicious food. Definitely get the hummus w shawarma (smothered with their hot sauce) and a mint tea.“
“Our experience was marred because of a large table of very loud young men. It was difficult to have a conversation. I wish people would be more considerate, and realize that there are other people in a restaurant. Otherwise, the food and service was very good. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and was happy to see some new choices on the menu. “
“March 2023: This gem of a place is still here, post pandemic (if there is such a thing), and their service and food is top notch! Please drop by and show some love, chicken salad comes with a lot of protein and is fairly priced for the area.Old review: I had a hunkering for Mediterranean-style cooked meat and fries. This place hit that spot.Located in FIDI on Battery (between Pine and Battery/Bush intersection). Went at noon and the place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Slight wait for my food after ordering but that's expected at noon.Food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered the Greek plate with chicken. Came with a bunch of fries, meat, a big dollop of tzhiki (sp?) sauce and some pita bread. It was good.I'll be back to try a salad next time. 3.6 stars that rounds up to 4 stars for the service.“
“We all had different dishes. We had the lamb, the prime rib, and the two chicken dishes. The server was lovely and welcoming. The food was so good and so fairly priced for the portions and taste! The place was empty and it does not deserve to be!“
“Best food on campus. Been a regular here for years. The customer service is always fantastic and the food quality has always been amazing. I've been coming here regularly at least once a week for 9 years now. The chicken over rice is my main meal and I could not recommend it any higher to you.“
“I love this restaurant. Not many places have Haleem and Nihari, but this one does! Everything we had was delicious. I ordered chicken Haleem and my fiancé has the Paneer Tikka Masala. The paneer masala was flavorful with a slight sweetness. The naan was huge! And the aloo naan was delicious as well.“
“Dear Diary - First time trying Chicken G and I definitely enjoyed the patience and recommendation they offered. Their chicken was juicy and the crust was amazingly crunchy! I had a side of fries which was well seasoned and they provided complimentary sauces to try. Will definitely try other offerings when I am back in town.“
“This was the random spot I picked to have dinner in SF. Was in the area purchasing a vehicle and decided to give it a try. The cashier was very patient with us and was smiling the entire time we were there. He seemed like an easy-going, content individual. Order to go but decided to eat there in the outdoor dining area. The gentleman was quick to pull us a heater (it was cold and windy-SF). Such great customer service and the food was delicious. We both enjoyed the lamb plate. Everything had excellent flavor and the meat was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. I rarely go to SF but if I'm ever in the area, I'd consider coming here again.“
“Came here to order the beef and pork bowls, and a Bing Fen jelly dessert. I enjoyed them all and it was a quick to go order I brought home for dinner on my way home. Right in front of the L-Taraval bus stop. Easy meter parking in area too. Close to library. The owner was so nice and friendly. Explained items to me in English. Use of ordering through automation was new to me. Nice with all the visuals! Zero contact if paying my credit card.“
“Gosh, I absolutely LOVE Sajj. It is so quick, perfect when you're in a rush, but still want something yummy and healthy. Think mediterranean-style Chipotle. I love the chicken shawafel or pomegranate chicken bowl. Every single topping on there is a perfect fit. I usually get all the spreads and can't choose a favorite. You can't go wrong with the toppings, but I usually add the sumac cauliflower, onions, cucumbers, cherry peppers, arugula, and mint leaves, finished off with either the spicy tahini or cilantro mint chutney. I know some people love the lentil soup. The baklava is so flaky and nutty. Most of the locations I've been to are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is helpful and pack on the toppings on your bowl. I absolutely LOVE Sajj, I even have a loyalty/newsletter (which I almost never do). Definitely recommend.“
“We had an amazing dining experience. The pani puri and samosa chat were exceptional, bursting with flavors. Special thanks for the delightful surprise of free chai and cookies, a perfect ending to a delicious meal. Can't wait to visit again!“
“Going back into the office three days a week is tough. Well, at least I can eat at my old favorite restaurants around Fidi again. Oasis Grill is still around. I can't believe it. Most of Drumm st. feel abandoned. We got the beef shawarma wrap $17 and a vegan deluxe bowl $14. It didn't taste as good as before though. Still very good. My shawarma wrap had plenty of meat and had a lot of flavor. Good job everyone at Oasis Grill.“
“This Is The Best restuarant Ive ever been tooooo !!!!!!! there food is really authentic super tasty ive tried gola kabab behari kabab chicken tikka masala biryani took it home and everyone was amazed better then all the other desi resturants in san francisco 5 star is a little im ready to give a million stars for this place“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at De Afghanan, a kebab haven in San Francisco, and it was a truly exceptional experience. The Qabli Pulao, hailed by a seasoned traveler as the epitome of lamb perfection, surpassed all expectations. The lamb kebab, a masterpiece of culinary artistry, showcased a flawless preparation. The appetizers, featuring delectable eggplant and bolani, were seasoned to perfection, tantalizing the taste buds. Opting for the health-conscious route, the succulent chicken kebab was a revelation, defying the usual dryness associated with such dishes. As a kebab connoisseur, I found myself thoroughly impressed. The owner's warm hospitality added a personal touch, and the baklava was a revelation of moist and delightful sweetness—far from the typical dryness. I wholeheartedly recommend this culinary gem for an extraordinary dining experience!“
“Okay, I adore this place! They’ve amazing food! I love that this place is like chipotle/subway, but for mediterranean food! I ordered the build your own bowl with falafel. Every ingredient added to the bowl was fresh and delicious. I loved the lentil soup as well. Their fries were good too.My spouse liked his falafel-chicken shawarma bowl.Their food was so good that I over-ate. I over-ate so much that I’d a tummy ache for a while after! ?“
“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“
