“Faithful customer since 2000 - I’ve been coming here since high school for the last 23 years! I love this place. They have such delicious vegetarian options - my favorite are the veggie enchiladas - they come with rice & black beens and platanos. Love the Caribbean Latino vibe. Love this place and love that it continues to thrive. A must visit if you are in Santa Monica. Thank you Ricky for continuing your parents’ legacy!“
“Easily found parking in back for $6, (although this may vary on the weekend). Prepay station is well lit at night. Small but beautiful cafe, very clean, with a lovely gated outdoor dining area as well. Hostess was so gracious and explained the menu thoroughly. Food was absolutely superb!! Plus, they offered vegetarian options. This is truly a GEM in LA.“
“Excellent food and service! ? Owner was courteous, gave us a free sauce. Food was delicious and plentiful for the order. Patties were delicious (want to stop by and get one for lunch at least once a week!). Oxtail and jerk chicken were top notch. We’ll be back! ??“
“Excellent for family events two years ago I lost my uncle after the funeral service we gather in this restaurant to have dinner with the family. It was amazing food and drinks the kindness of the chef Jose it’s amazing totally recommended and the desserts are amazing too. I look forward to go back again.“
“Only have had breakfast here (i wish places skimp on the white rice.) Eggs with vegs, rice, plantains n fryjacks. The fryjacks are amazing, i left with extra to take home & they were still amazing 2 days later.Vegetarian options: Options available with no meat“
“My husband and I come her often and they have the best Jamaican food we have ever had. The service is really good, and the plates are big. We are vegan and the Jackfruit platter is amazing. If you’re vegan then this is definitely worth to try.“
“We wanted a cute cafe where we could get some work done away from home. What drew us to Bolivar were the arepas, and just as other reviewers have pointed out, they’re a must-try! We tried four different flavors, each one sensational. They were warm and crispy as well. The passionfruit juice and green tea were the perfect accompaniments to the arepas.“
“Very beautiful restaurant. Lovely fragrance of the tropics upon entry. It has a Belizean ambience all on its on. Clean and very dignified. The gentleman taking the orders makes you feel cherished and welcomed. He makes his customers feel at home with his hospitable mannerisms. The cook who remains to be seen is the talent that brings you back. I must admit I didn't like the fact that the table menus weren't updated. A friend of mine who introduced me to this establishment were under the impression they were, only to get to the register to find out certain items had gone up. That can be very misleading. We went with the dinner plate that consist of your choice of stew beans and rice or rice and beans, white or dark meat stew chicken, potato salad and plantain. This dinner plate takes your taste buds to Belize. We also decided to order a chicken tamale. It had an awesome taste but it was a little too moist. I'm not sure if due to the temperature it caused the tamale to fall apart but I'll give it another try on my next visit. This no photo was provided of the tamale. Parking is easy to find if they're not too crowded and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you receive. Some items are made at a certain time. So pay closer attention to those. I'll definitely be back. I'm thinking more like tomorrow!!!“
“This place is a hidden gem ? I had the goat meat plate everything was delicious from the cabbage to the peas and rice. I also went to the market connected to the restaurant and bought some Oxtails that comes seasoned or none seasoned. Loved it! I am a forever customer, Thanks ?“
“The chef Garry fixed my food I had curry goat first time I ever had boneless goat it was very flavorful. The service was ok, the waitress never checked on me but once because my drink was off and she made a new one.Parking: Had to find parking and the light to turn onto Main Street is a nightmare I sat there 10 min waiting for a turn finally just got out turning lane went down some blocks and over to come back up“
“Coming from London, where I lived in Brixton, I missed good Jamaican food. I drove past this spot on my way to something nearby and, thankfully, had 20 minutes before I had to be there. I wasn't that hungry but I missed Jerk chicken and festivals. Th Jerk Spot was amazing. Chicken was amazing, subtle but spicy, tender, and the jerk sauce was manna. I even took a bottle of it home and I've been putting it on everything ever since. The festivals, or reggae bread as they call them, were a little dense than I'm used to, but was perfect for soaking up the juices and sauce. I loved it, I've been back even though I live miles away, and I'll be back again next time I'm in the area. Don't miss it.“
“They graciously took our group of 16 with no notice and had great food and service. Our group was traveling from Spokane, WA and this was the first of what we expect to be many future trips to the Burbank area for our junior roller derby league and we fully intend to come to this restaurant again next time we are visiting.“
“Food and service are amazing. They were in a ghost kitchen and moved to a brick and mortar. Everything was fresh. The owner, daughter, and son were extremely welcoming. Put it on your to-go-to spot for authentic Jamaican Cuisine.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible bathroom also.“
“short review: "AMAZING!!!!" long review: "What time is it right now as you are reading this? Is it between the hours of: Fri 9:00 pm - 2:00 am or Sat 9:00 pm - 2:00 am or Sun 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm? Are you perusing yelp indecisively? About to give up and go get fast-food, drive-thru again? Hook yourself up and go here instead... (Seriously though, when I was driving home from picking up my take-out I drove by a Carl's Jr. with a line of cars waiting and I thought to myself, "These people are really missing out on No Reservation right now." This is coming from someone who likes Carl's Jr. too!) I've had the crab soup, crab legs, coconut rice, asparagus, mac and cheese, bread pudding, corn on the cob, and everything was exceptional. I think the crab soup w/ coconut rice and the bread pudding can't be beat though. If you're just going to try one or two things make it one of those. Also I have to say I can't wait to try the rest of the menu too! I'll be back every weekend. (I've been here twice, both times during quarantine and I've had no problems. The place is super clean, it's easy to park on the street, there aren't a lot of people out so you can just zip in and be back home and eating real quick.) At first I was being selfish and not wanting to post about this place, keep it to myself, but then I thought maybe so many people will come to this place and they will be a huge success, expand and be open everyday and have multiple locations and we can eat No Reservation anytime! Best of luck!“
“Wow! Friends took us here. Everything was so delicious. We went for Sunday lunch and it got crowded fast. The garlic bread they served before the meal was so good, that we almost filled up on that.Service was very fast. The servers were happy to answer questions and help us.“
“This is the best Belizean restaurant we’ve had! Being married to a Belizean from Belize he is hyper critical of his food. He loved everything we got! The service is fantastic, the girl that was serving us was attentive, kind, and very personable. The restaurant is very clean! I must say the stew beans (chefs kiss) soooo good!“
“LISTEN!!!!!! This food was so good I forgot that I didn't receive my beef patty! Hahah so long story short me and another woman ordered the exact same dish (oxtails?) when I came to pickup my order I just grabbed the 1st bag I saw and didn't even check(so the mistake is on me which is why I'm not faulting them)...but it honestly didn't even matter the food was good, and then when I had the leftovers it was even more fire!!!?? I usually make my own oxtail and curry and stew chicken, but with the price of groceries and labor I started just going out because it ends up being cheaper and my kitchen stays clean! Anyway definitely recommend you stop by, especially earlier in the day!“
