“I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.“
“I ventured with my wife for a very early Valentine's dinner recently. This sushi speak easy has been on my to do list for a long time and I'm pleased we were able to visit this location. The entire staff was amazing, you're definitely here to drop some bills but have a great time. You immediately feel welcomed in this cozy setting , there were only 6 of us for our seating and the staff knew all our names and the reason why we decided to spend the night for dinner to treat ourselves for omakase. We were invited to partake in some pre-dinner cocktails and canapes. The reservations will note this is optional. I strongly suggest attending this and mingling with the staff and your guests because you're going to spend probably at least 2 hours with these folks experiencing top quality sushi. I really enjoyed their spin on omakase and sushi. Of course you're getting really high quality ingredients here but the intentionality in every bite, the pacing of the night, and at least during our visit the banter between everyone made this experience extremely memorable. The flow of food is so well thought out and the chefs work as a team to tee up each bite. You can see them set up nigiri, 2-3 rounds ahead, and watching the process is absolutely mesmerizing. Each bite is well explained along with the ingredients, origin and processes of how each nigiri is built. The drinks options are also very appetizing they have options for whiskey flights, sake flights and can craft up some delicious cocktails and non alcoholic options. They also are very considerate of any dietary constraints. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience and would come back for a future special occasion.“

The rice was just perfect on all of the pieces, not overly moist, yet firm and unadulterated. The spicy tuna were mild spicy and fragrant, the fresh salmon tasted better than anything I've had.The blue crab baked hand roll had all the flavors and real non-imitation crab was something very unique and worth a try.And new menu called, “Caribbean Roll” were above average, fresh albacore sashimi with spicy tuna and my favorite crispy onion; with house sauce and garnish that added more texture and flavor.Lastly the toro sushi seems basic, but they prove how good they are, melt and fresh. they made a something basic into something extravagant.All the servers are welcoming and friendly. “Susuru holds a special place in my heart. I’ve tried a number of items on their menus and everything is ???. I can’t stress enough about how good this ramen is. I’ve only known about Susuru for a month or so but have eaten here over 8 times. All of the broths are rich and authentic. The Thai coconut curry ramen is mind blowing and a generous serving. My go tos are the Miso and Tonkatsu. Add spice for extra flavor. I brought my coworkers here and everyone’s bowls were finished down to the last drop of broth. Easily one of the best ramens shops in LA. It’s got a great mom and pop atmosphere. Food comes out quick. What else can I say, I’m in love with Susuru. “My friends took me to Leona's sushi house earlier this week. It was last minute, for my birthday and we were able to get a table without a reservation! The decor and the mood was great. The tofu that I ordered as my protein was cold. The Lady Gaga sushi was a mixed bag. The toppings were a great combination of flavor but the tuna itself wasn't very good. I wouldn't order it again personally. That being said, we did really enjoy the Shrimp Tempura Cut Roll. It's not the best I've had but still very good. The Garlic Edamame as a starter was pretty amazing I have to say. Definitely get that! She has the most warm personality and to be honest, she is one of the reasons I keep coming back! She recommended the citron roll to me and I've been hooked ever since. I'll typically order that, and a couple other simple rolls that are discounted during happy hour. My fav thing to do is sit on the patio eating sushi and people watching. “My teenagers and I were impressed with the simplicity of flavors of all our dishes. We started off with an assorted sashimi plate that had 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, kampachi, and Japanese scallops and a plate of scallop carpaccio. It was soo yummy that we ordered another plate of scallop carpaccio and then we felt like we just had to try the kampachi carpaccio. Sooo good and the scallops just melt in your mouth! For our main dishes, we decided to share the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra bamboo shoots and the Truffle Butter Tonkotsu. The broths were very flavorful, the noodles fresh, and the chasu was delicious. For dessert, the friendly staff recommended the house-made Shio Koji ice cream with black sea salt to help cleanse our palates. It was very light and definitely refreshing. And I also tried the Genmaicha tea which was very light, aromatic, and soothing. All in all this place is a must go-to when you're in Ktown. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and very helpful for suggesting menu items. This is definitely our family's favorite find of the year!“

Every bite was simply amazing and irresistible. Great fish quality, not a single piece was questionable in appearance, texture, taste; the quality was delicious.The assorted tempura was crunchy, the batter didn’t disintegrate when you dipped it and didn’t break up when you were biting it. A delicious batter that kept its integrity and highlighted the beauty of each ingredient being used. Loved having a tempura mushroom and the white fish was a unique and different touch.The nigiri- where the begin. All of it was delicious. For a party of two, we each walked away with eating $190 each which is a lot for how much we ordered truthfully but because the quality of the food was better that majority of the places we had, it was worth it and can’t wait to go back. No alcohol either. It was a treat to eat here and treat ourselves. The most delectable and fragile scallops that just melt in your mouth, the albacore was a dance in your mouth as well as anything else that had a drop of yuzu on it. Ended my experience with uni and it was pure velvet. The most underwhelming item I ate was a spicy tuna since I was genuinely curious but I wouldn’t order that again and just stick with nigiri.Each nigiri order is 1 piece and sashimi is 2 pieces. “The location is small so there wasn't alot of space for parking. I went ahead and used the valet service they had. The inside of the restaurant was small and felt a bit cramped. (If you are claustrophobic, be careful) of course there were spaces to move around but it will be difficult for others.The food was decent but oof pricey. My favorite was the bluefin tuna Trio. For the price of the dish, I understand since it tasted pretty fresh and the presentation was visible. I tried sea urchin for the first time here and I guess I can't say too much about it other than it being very very strong in ocean flavor.The service was great! I was well taken care of by our amazing waiter.“

“I was looking for a new sushi spot (you can tell when old favorites start going through the motions) and The Big Fish is right on the money. We had the Caterpillar roll, crunch roll, and baked salmon roll, all very good. The baked salmon roll was actually one of the best I've ever had - perfect temperature. Interior of the restaurant has a nice vibe, and friendly folks work there. Pricewise this might be slightly higher (for some of the rolls) than other places, but you can taste the difference. This is in a part of town I hadn't been to in years and the location is in a "blink and you'll miss it" strip mall at Riverside and Coldwater Canyon...so thanks to Yelp's new restaurant email and all of the other reviews: this is a sushi place worth visiting!“

Takoyaki was one of the best I've eaten. The portion is also generous and there were definitely big chunks of Tako inside the balls. Presentation was very pretty too. However my lemon roll was not as good as the other dishes. The spicy tuna was overly spicy and it took away the flavor of the entire dish.
