“This is an absolutely no frills restaurant with about 5 items on the menu, but they do them well. The monta (aka manti, mante) is the star of the show. Unlike other places that take a shortcut by using wonton skins, this place makes the dough from scratch and it really makes a difference. In addition to the baked monta, they also do a soup version in either tomato or yogurt. Their sou boereg ( Armenian cheese lasagna) is good also. All monta is cooked to order, so it does take a few minutes for your order to be ready, but it's totally worth the wait. Have an appetizer while waiting. You can also visit their sister restaurant in Pasadena, though it's tiny with only two tables on the sidewalk.P.S. I read some reviews saying that monta is supposed to be made with phyllo dough. Uh, no. I helped my mom and grandma make monta from scratch and they use the same dough you'll find here. And I was born in Lebanon, my grandmother was a Genocide survivor. So they know how to make it.“

My wife took me to the restaurant for lunch to sample the food a couple of days before the party. Misah was very nice in person as well. The food was freshly prepared and very delicious. All the sides were good as well; the lentil soup, cucumber yogurt, and hummus. He offered us free desserts to sample. Their homemade baklava is so good. I have had kabob so many times in my life, at some point you can't really tell if it's Persian, Lebanese, Armenian because the flavors are pretty similar. Here, there was no confusion or questions. The flavors of Armenian cuisine are very pronounced. I loved it. The beef shish was juicy, flavorful, cooked to perfection. It didn't have any beef smell or aftertaste. I have to be very careful where I eat and 99% of the time I have kabob taste in my mouth for hours. Not after eating here. Even left overs microwaved next day tasted great. The portions are perfect and so is the price. They even had home made lecho. (If you know, you know). Everything was perfect and I can go on and on.
