Cafes in Taft

“There was not much of a choice for dinner in Taft and we thought this was the best place. I had their porter and a burger. My husband had a lighter beer and a steak sandwich which was really a whole steak on top of bread. The steak was cooked perfectly. We thought both were excellent. They also had Chinese and Thai food which looked good as well. Dinner with drinks was $50.“

“What a good find in Taft. We were in town to celebrate by cousin's 60th anniversary and needed somewhere to eat when we first drove in since we left early to beat the rain between Orange County and Taft. This section of Taft seems a little down but The Same Place looks welcoming and was certainly warm and comforting once we were inside. They have a large breakfast menu and I ended up getting the "Where's the Beef" omelet while my wife got their oatmeal with all the fixings. She said it was one of the best oatmeals she's had in a restaurant. The omelet was large and filling with tons of vegetables. The service was excellent with many refills on coffee and water. Their homemade salsa was great on the omelet. We ended up going back the next morning before heading home, this time with the rest of my family. Everyone really enjoyed their food and service this time as well. Our total for six people with full meals was around $80. We left a generous tip since we had such a good meal and service. We will go back again if/when we're ever back in Taft.“
