“I have accidentally found the greatest toast in all of America. I was here to meet some friends for an event and thought I’d pop in for a quick bite. I ordered the avocado toast thinking it would be an unremarkable snack. Have you ever experienced something so above and beyond expectation you wonder if you’re on a hidden camera show? This toast is that good. Toppings were fresh, seasoning was on point, and the toast was perfectly soft but toasty. Also ordered the Michelle Wi which lemonade and black tea. Great atmosphere, really friendly staff, nice patio and neighborhood parking nearby. Would it be rude if I ordered another toast? Actually considering it.“

“Located in Studio City and serving patrons since 1964, Vivian’s is a classic diner option in the valley. It’s very small on the inside with only a few large tables. They also have more seating in the back, but we were able to find a seat for two in the front for a 10:30 Sunday brunch. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot so it will be metered street parking, which is not that hard to find in the valley. Our server was polite and all of our items came out quickly. I am giving 4/5 stars because the food quality isn’t as good as some other places close by like More Than Waffles, Bob’s, or Paty’s and the inside could use a cleaning. The floor was very dirty under our table and the table next to us even complained about it.I started off with a Coffee, which is my go to order at any diner. For my meal I chose the Eggs Benedict with a Biscuit on the side. The Eggs Benedict had a nice flavor but the eggs were undercooked and runny. They did not have the true poached consistency with the yolk covering the dish, it was too watery and splashed out as soon as I cut into it. Also the biscuit was as flat as an English muffin and really lacked the biscuit or buttermilk flavor. We also ordered the 2x2x2 and the pancakes were actually very good, but it’s also very hard to mess up pancakes. It was not a bad meal by any means, but certainly not as good of one as others I have had close by on the same street.Overall I would say it could be an option if you’re already in the valley and the more popular spots have too long of wait times.Parking: no parking lot, only metered street parkingWheelchair accessibility: no stairs or incline to enter/exit“
“CUTEEEE, I've heard of U Dessert Story in SF and was excited to hear they were opening in Santa Monica along a brunch spot! The location is beautiful and interior is so fun for brunch. The wait has been popping off so I'd recommend joining the waitlist early! I had the breakfast plate with their millionaire bacon and the scone was my absolute favorite- literally the best scone I've had lol!!!“

“First off, the prices are pretty reasonable for the area. In the Arts District where you can expect your coffee to be $7, $9ish for a full cocktail is not bad! I've enjoyed everything here, the fried chicken in particular was well-seasoned. The only thing I thought was meh was the fried broccolini, the batter was a little too heavy for me so I didn't finish it.You seat yourself and can either order using the QR code at your table or try to flag someone down, but mobile order seems faster. There is also self-serve water.My only suggestion is that sometimes it can get quite sunny so would be nice to have some kind of shades when the sun is getting low and get in your eyes.Update: sounds like the shade issue has been resolved since I've last gone! “Stopped by Mari Cafe for a late breakfast ( served all day!) I got the Muscle builders plate with eggs, spinach cheese etc. and a side of chicken breast. Amazing! Perfectly prepared. Service was excellent. Tons of coffee ( which I can’t get enough of) and my friend had a burger and fries. I looked up after sampling mine and he was done. He said it was awesome! The music is very nostalgic of Fab 40s. Reminiscent of the old diner days!Dietary restrictions: It seems you can order menu items. But I’m sure you could order “ off menu” for something special. The service was fast, and the brunch was good, The chicken taco was marinated perfectly, the blue jam Benedict was also good, the potatoes on the side was lacking taste, maybe some salt would have added to the taste. “I just went to Red Maple Cafe for the first time today and really enjoyed the experience. My wife mother and daughter all loved our food and the ambiance. The fried chicken and waffles were very flavourful and unique because of the blackberry sauce they served with the waffles. The fried chicken was juicy crispy and flavorful. The blackberry sauce also mixed nicely with some hot sauce! The brisket burrito my wife got was very good, flavorful and tender brisket. Their house breakfast potatoes were also very good. Spiced but not spicy so that even my daughter approved and enjoyed. Their custom coffees were very fun too as you can have them take a picture of your choosing and put it on the cream of their coffee!Our server Brian was also excellent and attentive.
