“Outdoorsy and spacious community cafe. I really enjoy the vibes here. This cafe is community based and the hours are typically from 8-1 or 8-3. The kind gentlemen have me the WiFi info before purchasing anything. I'm not sure if there's inside seating as this cafe seems to be a part of a church. Customer service provided by John was top-notch! He really took his time with his customers and drinks to make sure everyone was happy. I appreciate the small chats and accommodations! Parking was a little difficult. Only about 6-7 spots in the front. Really a community cafe. Would be back if I were to grab coffee with a friend but I wouldn't exactly advocate to work here since I prefer the convenience of being indoors when I work. Nonetheless, I'd recommend this place!“
“It is a small local winery located in the Santa Cruz Mountains.Unlike most other wineries, it is located on top of the mountain. I think the founder came here because he wanted a cool climate. It's better to dress a little thick because it's on top of the mountain.Since it's a small winery, the vineyard is rather small. There is not a lot of wine produced every year. In a way, it's a rare wine that you can't find anywhere else. The view down the mountain is very cool. You can taste and buy wine in the shop. Lexington 2014 vintage was tasted and bought. It was pretty good. Thomas Fogarty brand chardonnay 1998 vintage wine was selected also with an affordable price. Vintage 1998 is the taste of pain in Korea, which almost ruined the country due to the economic crisis. I should share it together at the wedding celebration of my best friend since pain is one of strong taste of marriage.“
“A nice ambience with solid food, easy parking, good service and overall a great dinner. We have done the dinner and wine pairing events in the beautiful courtyard with a tree full of twinkling lights, tonight we celebrated my birthday and were treated to a delicious slice of chocolate cake. We shared the gem salad which came in a nice big salad bowl, enjoyed the lamb shank Easter special, salmon and burger. Along with cocktails and wine. Recommend for any occasion.“
“An absolute favorite that I am sure to visit on every trip to the Bay. Very unique fusions of Indian and Californian flavors with something for every palate. My favorites are the sesame leaf, burrata kulcha, house salad and dry boat scallops. Also don’t sleep on the cocktails. Very nicely crafted.“
“After a wonderful lunch with family, while we enjoy our walk at downtown, Tong sui catch our attention, so we decide to give it a try. The server is really nice and help us for the selection. We got Da hong pau tea latte and Osmanthus oolong tea latte. We both getting 50% sweetness (recommended) and less ice.Saw the special menu will come back again to try it.“
“Delicious comfort food, beautifully located. I'm rating the service and atmosphere down since they outsource their ordering process in the restaurant to an app - this makes me use my phone even more and I wonder if next time they also ask me to grill the burger myself.Parking: Fills up on a weekend“
“Service was amazing! Garrett was so attentive and would bring everything we needed before we could even think of asking. Service like that is what makes the experience truly memorable. The atmosphere is good too—not too loud and beautiful decor. Ingredients were delicious, but I was not a fan of some dishes (could be personal preference). The cucumber salad seemed too acidic and the pork belly with burrata pairing didn’t go well in my opinion. But again, the quality was great and the rest is personal preference. Would be an injustice if I didn’t mention that trout was absolutely delectable! Might be the best one I’ve ever had. Also, the vanilla soft serve with cardamom crumble was a hit!“
“Super cute cafe with amazing drinks and food with hints of Asian influence. I ordered the black sesame latte and the ricotta yuzu toast. The toast was especially impressive in the way in brought together a variety of flavors. Everything about the interior was modern. cozy and picturesque and I had really enjoyed staying here and working on sketches.I do want to note that I arrived on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty packed and their pastries had already sold out. I would come back earlier next time for the croissants :)“
“The experience I've had coming back to this place was outstanding, I took the opportunity to try something new based on our server's recommendation, and wow they nailed it. This type of interaction provides me with the trust of keep coming back and not get disappointed.“
“A lovely meal. The chef is super creative in the use of vegetables and original sauces. Nice selection of wines by the glass, which our server was happy to let me taste before ordering. Highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the chickpea risotto, which were quite exceptional. The baked cod however was a bit too salty. And we needed to order some bread to cleanse our palate afterwards. They did offer to remake the fish which was thoughtful, but it would have interrupted the flow of our dinner at that stage. That said, it was a great experience overall. And don't skip the s'mores desert!“
“I would highly recommend the black sesame with coconut filling birthday cake. It is so yummy and not sweet. Great and friendly customer service. I have ordered the same birthday cake two months in a row. This will be my Go To place for getting birthday cakes. Please support our local restaurants.“
“Update - new vegan empanadas are great! They are filled with mushroom and vegan feta, very filling and tasty. They have always had vegan options since they opened, delicious plantains rice and beans. It's a local small business with an owner who cares. They added vegan meats now as an option which was something I've been asking for. Updated from previous review on 2023-01-24“
“We had the most delicious meal last night at Protégé. Each course of the tasting menu was perfection. At the end we couldn't choose a favorite because they were all equally incredible. Our server, Fleur, was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine and gave us wonderful recommendations for the perfect wines to compliment the various courses. The whole experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back sometime.Dietary restrictions: They made sure they were aware of all of my dietary restrictions and ensured the food I was served was safe for me to eat by making small adjustments when needed.“
“Great food and service! We went with some friends and the owners gave us samples of their delicious dips with pita bread. The spitfire chicken salad bowl was delicious. We had kalamari steaks and falafel too. Very delicious. We will definitely be back. Reasonably priced good food.“
“What a great discovery for me! I was waiting to order a sandwich close by, but it was taking too long. So, I walked over to Big Brothers Burgers and ordered the classic with fries. Wow! It was so huge yet delicious! Great service, and the ambiance was nice too. Highly recommend!“
“This is our first time going to the restaurant. They opened right before Covid. And have been in business for a little over four years. It was easy to get a reservation and we had outside dining on the sidewalk with two heaters. The service was great. Our server was fantastic. Our table, ordered chicken, fish, and pasta, and the quality and proportions were extremely fine. Generous portions. And the prices unbeatable. And they took Apple Pay at Table. Definitely will make this a restaurant for us to visit the future.“
“I work close to here and love the food. It's a cool spot to get lunch during the workday when the weather is nice.I usually order on door dash for pickup and walk down with my office mates. You can usually get a table, but it does get crowded, especially at lunch time. They have lots of vegan options, which is great! Definitely recommend the vegan potato thali. The only thing that could use improvement is the service. They are always very busy, and have lots of takeout orders. It makes things a little chaotic, and they get a bit mixed up sometimes. Don't eat here if you are in a hurry - you might have to wait a bit for them to sort things out.Overall I recommend this place if you happen to be in the area.Vegetarian options: Vegan stuff! Check it out ?“
“We found this place roughly a month ago, and the owner and head chef named Josh is arguably one of the best steps I've ever met, I come from chefs background used to be a corporate chef years ago, and the food and quality of service at this location is arguably the best I've ever dealt with, including French laundry. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who is interested in an outstanding service, outstanding food and outstanding ambience. We will definitely continue to go back to this location as many times as we can.“
“My skepticism about vegan food and that it may have only limited choices was shattered at this place. Menu is pretty elaborate and can very well satiate quite a few people with different tastes. Drink options are nice too. Definitely recommending this place, and going back some time soon.“
“Sat in the back patio, which was nice and warm and covered. Food was solid. We didn’t like the pear burrata special, but the pizzas were quality (we got the sausage honey and sausage broccolini pizzas). The bread pudding dessert was solid too. Overall, recommend this “
“Great spot for a date or just a night out. There is parking along the front. There are tons of seats available with some near heating like the fire pit or the heat posts. You order abs they bring it to you. The service was quick and the drinks were delivered to our table warning 10mins. The staff is very quick to clean also. The beer selection is great and there is something for everyone!“
“What a hidden gem we stumbled upon! It was 9:00 am on a Friday, right as they were opening their doors, and already there was a buzz of activity with people streaming in and placing their orders. Overall, it was a delightful experience. I absolutely adored it. And let me tell you, their coffee? To die for! (Haha!)Their menu offers such a unique selection of dishes that you won't find elsewhere. I'd even go as far as to say it's one-of-a-kind. I opted for the croque madam, and let me tell you, it was a generous portion size! My boyfriend went for the scrambles, and he was equally impressed. The owner or general manager was incredibly attentive, which only added to the overall positive vibe of the place. Thanks a bunch! We'll definitely be back for more!“
“Random food truck I found on the side of the street lol, but it had good reviews so I had to try it. They are generous in their serving size and everything tasted pretty good too be honest. It's not as spiced as a lot of other restaurants, but that's also ok. I think it may have more turmeric than other places though. It's a one man army and the food is good, so 7/10.“
“A coffee roaster and cafe located in California, USA. It started in San Francisco in 2013, and as the city is named after Saint Francis, the coffee house is also named that way. Like St. Francis, they form a network with small coffee farms around them and work together to achieve mutual benefit. It's a branch located at the Menlo Park Caltrain station, but from a distance it looks like just a counter, so you wouldn't even know it was a coffee shop. When you get close, you can smell the fragrant coffee. Feels like Blue Bottle coffee with a mild sour taste. The neighborhood itself is quiet and there's a train station in front, so it's a great place to have a quiet coffee.Review on January 26, 2024A cafe located in Menlo Park, California. This is a branch of St. Frank, a roastery in San Francisco. Menlo Park is a city bordering Palo Alto (Stanford) and has a similar quiet and safe atmosphere. Mountain View, adjacent to the south, has an urban feel, while this place has a California feel.Where would you like to get coffee near Stanford, including Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Menlo Park? This is the first place that comes to mind. It's not a fancy place, located in a container in the parking lot behind Mentor Park Caltrain Station, but the coffee tastes amazing, and the atmosphere is great as you watch the Caltrain pass by. Of course, since there are only outdoor tables, sunglasses are a must.St. Frank Roastery has several of its own stores, but also supplies products to other cafes. San Francisco's favorite cafe, Coffee Movement, also uses coffee beans from here.It seems like it was just yesterday that I was riding my bike every day and drinking a glass of Flat White during the pandemic, but time flies so quickly.“
“If y’all don’t know about Ada’s, y’all should — because they got one of the BEST coffees around town. They are locally sourced and get the most organic beans, and make the BEST pastries. And best of all, they are a 501(c)3 non-profit social enterprise running in the heart of Palo Alto. I work at Cubberley not far from Ada’s, so I have been coming by often and supporting.A big shout out goes to Kathleen, the owner and founder of Ada’s Cafe — she’s absolutely humble and very caring at every customer. She goes above and beyond in support of not only the neurodivergent community, but also for the communities in need in Palo Alto.I ordered a 16oz latte with whole milk on a Friday — and they honestly served it with SO much love and so much belonging. It truly felt like I was at home, but 10x better. The beans had flavor, and the whole milk wasn’t overly saturated. I also appreciated how much love and consideration they put in the croissant sandwich as well, because the ingredients were fresh and not too sweet or too salty at all.It is located next to the Palo Alto Library, and they do close early at 4pm. There is limited indoor seating, but there is a variety of things you can choose from. I would definitely recommend supporting a local business like Ada’s and having your bestie brunch dates here too.Vegetarian options: They have some things you can ask for vegetarian! In fact, most things are vegetarian :)Dietary restrictions: They have different kind of non-dairy options you can choose from! :DParking: Because we’re sharing a parking lot with the Palo Alto Library, there are times where you’re not able to find parking right away. However do not fret, because they usually clear away after a while.Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly - most of the kids from Challenger or nearby kids from the surrounding neighborhood come to get an ice cream scone from Ada’s! No wonder that’s why they were this profit-driven — and they’re still running despite the inflation — they get TONS of business from the kids everyday!Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible! Very wheelchair friendly — and they accommodate very openly about who sits there and stuff.“
“We ate at La Viga Seafood & Cocina Mexicana. It was nice. I thought it would be a bit fancier because I saw it recommended somewhere. The seafood dish with different kinds was really good, especially the shrimp. The tacos cost $6 each, which seemed a lot, but they tasted great. The chips were the best part—they were not greasy and very crunchy. They gave us two kinds of sauce; the green one was the best. The cold beer was also really good with the food. Even though I expected something a bit different, we liked it a lot and want to go back to try more dishes.“
“Two visits about a decade apart; I am a regular! I have nothing bad to say-service is good and prompt, food fresh and hot...had an outstanding draft German Pilsner last weekend. It had been a very long time since I had a draft German beer. Lesson for me? Take a break from the strong CA IPAs once in awhile. :)“
“I have been to this place only a handful of times. Each time the food quality and service never ceases to amaze me. The food is spectacularly delicious. The service is quick. Don' t let that deter you in thinking the food quality must lack. On the contrary, they use fresh ingredients and the fact that they are so busy they food turn over is great. you know you are getting fresh cooked food. Hands down the best pakistani/indian restaurant in the bay area. I recommend the halwa puri thali on the weekends and the spinach gosht on the weekdays with garlic naan.“
“I absolutely love State of Mind. I don't know anyone that doesn't. The quality of their pizzas alone will impress you. This is the kind of place that will convert a "crust hater" into a "crust lover". I recommend the Heat and Sweet or their limited quantity Grandma's Pie. Also, try their "SOM dusted French fries, they're killer! Great selection of craft beers on tap. Relaxed, family friendly atmosphere with a mini arcade area for kids.“
“A nice spot for some drinks, music & rotating food carts. It gets busy so plan accordingly. There is a reasonable amount of parking but again… fills up. Numerous drink options — some tasty sours, hazy & IPAs. The food cart items can be hit or miss.“
“This is my first time visiting Itálico for my birthday! The food is excellent. The service was phenomenal and everyone absolutely delightful. Michael was so attentive and hospitable! He genuinely wanted to get to know my family and I, and was so sweet. Super profesional and kind to all. He made my family feel super welcomed and felt like a queen on my birthday! Our server was also Carlos was absolutely excellent and gave amazing service to us and everyone else!! He was so funny and always made sure we were all good. I recommend everyone try this restaurant! Graziie Mille Michael . -Haydee “
“Don't listen to negativity regarding ALLSPICE— this is a hidden jewel whose cuisine will blow you away for its creativity, flavor and inventiveness. The veggie dishes fully hold up to any of the meat entrees, really extraordinary— light, luscious. The wine pairings are excellent and reasonably priced. Michelin is rarely wrong and here, doesn't even do just to the romantic combination of class and elegance. Best place for date night I know...“
“Vegetarian / vegan wrap perfect for Good Friday. The Turkish double espresso was delicious and not gross like the bitter American roasters. I got fries, but did not realize lentil soup is on the menu. Next time. Operated by family, doesn’t get better than that.Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“I visited this amazing biscotti place. Their biscottis and cannolis were awesome and really good!! The owner was super kind and friendly. I think he is proud of his art. They became one of my favourite bakeries ☺️ I am lucky to have this nice place:) The best biscottis and cannolis I’ve ever tried!!!!“
“What a fantastic experience! The lady who served us was incredibly kind and friendly, and the atmosphere of the place felt so welcoming, just like their menu. While we only sampled the empanadas, they had an enticing variety of other dishes. We're definitely planning to return to savor the Chimichurri sandwich and indulge in the beef, spinach & mushroom empanadas again - these were our absolute favorites today. We highly recommend this spot; plus, there's plenty of parking, and the outdoor view is simply breathtaking.“
“We are faithful diners at this local neighborhood cafe . The owner is always so cordial in his greeting of us and the staff always are so courteous and have smiles despite the busy atmosphere of this Valentine's dinner . The dedicated menu for the evening was sufficient to please the diverse palates ( though our friend who received the duck breast choice was a bit displeased because the slices were very thin and small compared to what was usually served to others ) but taste wise he said it was very good . The seabass and the lamb choices were delicious ... no complaints there !! We love this cafe and look forward to returning and ordering from their usual menu ( esp. the squid ink pasta which is a FAVORITE ♥️) I highly recommend this cafe for a dining choice ??“
“Back in high school, I tried a sandwich from here and felt underwhelmed so I never came back. Returned for the first time recently because I was uncharacteristically craving a sandwich...and I am NOT a sandwich person, especially when it comes to meat-stuffed ones. I picked up a Customer's Favorite sans bacon to eat at home in front of the computer and woah...it totally hit the g-spot. Gastronomical spot! It was so warm and flavorful with melted cheese, turkey and pastrami, complemented by juicy tomatoes, creamy avo and zesty chipotle mayo, all smushed inside pillowy-soft Dutch Crunch. I had only planned to finish half as the sammy was enormous. However, once I started eating I just couldn't stop! Before I knew it, the gargantuan Suanwich disappeared and left crumbs all over my keyboard. Writing this review made me hungry.“
“Ambiance is arty, comfortable and lovely. Menu had great choices and the 3 of us were so pleased with our choices. I brought home the leftovers and they were just as delicious the next day. We had the mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, shrimp and the crab ‘taco'. The winter sangria was delicious and full body with rich red wine and port YUM just right for this time of year!“
“We love Vino Locale! Nice ambiance, great wine list, and solid snacks to enjoy. Of of the best things about Vino Locale is that the wine list isn't just the same 5 wines that you see at many other places, they offer a great variety of domestic & international wines, and treat each one well. I love the Sancerre on the menu, and appreciate that they offer 6oz or 9oz pours, half bottles, and full bottles. The Black Cabra Cabernet Sauvignon and Miraval Rose are also among my favorites. In terms of food items, I usually gravitate toward the chicken skewers are a good option and come with a few flavor/sauce options. The beet salad is good, and I often get their Brussels sprouts (know what to expect, though: they're not fried/crispy, but are tasty - served with parmesan, cranberries, almonds, and optional bacon). The cheese plates and hummus platter are also good, reliable options. Service is so friendly! They have a nice dog-friendly patio (and often have a few treats for pups), and live music most Thursday evenings.“
“Vegan here! I enjoyed my meal at the State of Mind Spice House. Although the vegan pizza could have used a few extra toppings, it was still pretty decent. The “old-fashioned“ soda was a nice addition. The young men working the counter were friendly and fun to interact with. There were a few seats inside, but given the Bay Area weather, it was nice to get a seat outside and enjoy the weather and pizza together.Dietary restrictions: The vegan cheese is a homemade cashew cheese.Kid-friendliness: The environment is very welcoming to children. If they are loud, you should be able to grab a seat outside without an issue.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level, so getting in and out shouldn’t be a problem.“
“Ist time here and impressed. Wanted coffee in a real cup and almond croissant and stayed for the ambiance! Italian music playing in the background and a window seat to view the creek. Talk about relaxing ☺️ A lot of locals here so I know they've found a great spot!!!They offer breakfast and lunch, will have to try these another time. Can imagine this spot with the umbrellas on a summer morning. Give it a try ❤️“
“Alpha Acid is a great place to enjoy a good beer. The menu is diverse enough to cover adventuresome palates (e.g. sours, barrel aged ales), folks who just want a solid, dependable ale, and people who want to try something more approachable to one who's not a hard-core beer drinker. Lots of seating where you can relax and perhaps play a board game. Usually, there's a food truck nearby if you're hungry.“
“Small coffee gem with limited range of food options located at a cozy backyard right off Cal Ave. Ordered a golden latten and a salmon toast and I must say everything was delicious. The coffee had a very good balance between the turmeric and the honey which made this special drink delicious. The salmon toast was also very good with a good amount of salmon. However, I felt like the portion was slightly too small. The coffee shop was very busy on a Sunday morning but service was rather friendly and efficient.“
“My family just tried this relatively new restaurant for brunch on Sunday and so glad we did! It was a beautiful day out and even though there were plenty of tables inside and out, my daughter opted to eat inside. After you walk in, you order and pay before finding yourself a place to sit. We were in a bit of a rush since my daughter had a soccer game nearby, and the employee was very nice and said she would rush our order and put our drinks in to go cups even though we were dining there. The menu offers a variety of options to choose from, including Korean staples like fried chicken and rice cakes, as well as salads, burgers and croffles (cross between a croissant and a waffle). They also serve specialty coffees, boba teas, cocktails, beer and wine. We sampled the chicken croffle, fish and ships and shrimp fettucine alfredo. I must say, all the food was delicious! The fried chicken that went with the croffle was seasoned well and was very crispy, like it was double battered. I had never tried a croffle before, but it was really tasty! It came with sliced grapes and strawberries. My only complaint is that the dish was swimming in syrup. It wasn't overly sweet, but I would have preferred the syrup on the side. I'll know to order that next time! The fish and chips included 2 large pieces of fish and seasoned fries. The fish was pretty good, but the fries were excellent! At first I was reluctant to let my 8 year old order a $20 pasta dish, but with 5 large shrimps and prosciutto mixed in the sauce, it was definitely worth it. It was a generous portion and tasted like carbonara! Highly recommend! My daughter also ordered a mango drink with lychee jelly, which she enjoyed and I had an iced orange grapefruit black tea that was really refreshing. I was pretty impressed with Corner Kitchen. Happy to see that the place had a steady stream of customers coming in while we were dining there. I hope this place stays awhile! I can't wait to go back and try more things, especially the Korean dishes!!“
“I absolutely love this place, the food is great, good quality and reasonably priced.I frequently order for lunch or dinner, and food is always SO GOOD.Visited the place for the first time and is a very clean place, with good energy, and these lovely ladies that were on top of my order and treated me like a queen.Highly recommend the Super Burritos (is my favorite dish here) and quite unique, have not found another place as good as them.“
“Enjoyed a nice brunch on Sat morning around 11 am, was not too crowded and got seated right away without reservations. We had 2 dogs with us and their outdoor seating was pretty nice. I got the Tacos Verdes which were very tasty and the agua fresca watermelon. Service was very attentive and food quality was fresh .I would recommend it“
“Delicious. I don't like that they don't take reservations (annoying, get over yourself JS) but their food is freaking amazing. Will someone please give me like 10 of their scones to eat RIGHT NOW?Hakuna Frittata is wonderful; everything is wonderful. Get here EARLY on the weekends (like, before they open), they get very crowded.“
“This is a really spacious location compared to other locations they have in the area. Many tables for seating! A few people were waiting for their drinks and socializing. Cozy little spot. This is conveneient across from Ramen Nagi and Son & Garden as well.I recommend the Mango Mochi Coconut Pudding and the Jasmine Coconut Pudding! These are my favorites, but definitely get pricey. For drinks, my go-to is the Da Hong Pao (DHP) Latte with Jelly! Very fragrant tea, but still creamy from the milk. A well balanced milk tea.“
“Fun, casual place for meeting a group. The culinary approach is best described as comfort food, with something for every taste. I chose Lazy Dog to for a family get-together because it's close to our Foster City relatives, has easy parking, and a nice outdoor area that is dog-friendly. We all found something we liked in the menu. My husband really liked the Cuban sandwich, my older daughter loved the Kraft macaroni and cheese (nothing special, obviously, but exactly what kids tend to want), while my other daughter wanted Asian noodles, so we shared the yaki soba (which was delicious). Most importantly, my somewhat picky 92 year old grandmother, who medically needs to make sure she eats enough (but can't always bring herself to), ate her entire portion of teriyaki noodles. The lunch portion was perfect for her--she can't eat too much in one sitting. What I liked most about Lazy Dog was the service. Anthony was really great. Some of the dishes we initially tried ordering were unavailable, so he brought free dessert--sundaes for both my daughters. And they were extra fun: bowls of ice cream with little dishes of chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, and sprinkles so the girls could make the sundaes themselves. The other staff were also attentive. When the sun got bright, they brought an umbrella, unprompted, to shade my grandmother. There's a deal right now for one small plate for $5, available all day--a bargain.“
