“When you arrive before opening and see a line that's usually a good sign, and it was no exception here. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly. We mainly got the hamburgers / special burgers and the herb salad. However, we'd love to try the other items on the menu as everything else had was tasty.“
“Celebrated my 57th here. Really chill Place. We sat outside with friends. It rained while we were there but it wasn't an issue. The drinks were good. The hummus appetizer is good but looked kind of blah. The decorations etc really make the place feel comfortable All good Had a great time even though it start to pour during our time.“
“I have to admit, as an airplane nerd I’m perhaps a little biased since this spot is at the Half Moon Bay airport it here it goes!Pilot Light is literally in an old terminal building so to the reviews that say it feels like it…. Yeah. But that said, I enjoy the environment. It’s relaxed and bustling at the same time. There’s a good sized outdoor patio with several tables when the weather is good. There’s usually a few operations of general aviation aircraft every hour. The food: I have yet to have anything here that isn’t good. I’ve tried several meals, and the Huevos Rancheros is definitely a fave. Presentation is always pretty, too! There was one review about the plastic glasses being worse for wear, but that problem is solved by nice aluminum glasses. Even the coffee, which is tasty, is served in an aluminum insulated cup!Pilot Light is definitely on my must go list in the area. The service is always friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: Looks like it would be good.“
“Made the short walk from the resort to this wonderful little coffee "shop". It's more like a stationary food truck. Really appreciated their early morning hours, as I was working remotely on central time so my workday started at 6:30am. Many of the other cafes I looked at in the area didn't open until 7:00am. The Yelp map seems to have them located on slightly the wrong location. They are around the corner. Use Apple Maps or Google maps for the proper location. It's on Harvard.Ordered an iced cold brew with a splash of vanilla syrup, a banana, and an almond danish. The service was friendly and helpful. The cold brew coffee was smooth and delicious and the almond danish was sweet and tasty. Appreciated that they had some fresh fruit and the banana hit the spot.I'll definitely be back while I'm in the area.“
“This place was a huge pleasant surprise. It was a rainy/windy day and we were over in the area because we were just kind of driving the coast. We didn't expect much in this area because we were coming from the somewhat industrial looking side, but decided we wanted to look for a brewery. We googled and ended up trying this place out. Because of the weather, we didn't think there would be anyone else in here and didn't have super high hopes. We were so wrong! When we entered, there was a duo playing live music. They were enjoyable to listen to. There were also quite a few people in there of all ages and seemingly, different walks of life--always a fun thing to see. I ordered a flight and every beer on it was nice and crispy cold--the only way to enjoy beer in my opinion. And the flavors of every one were so impressive. We both love beer and are very impartial to our own local breweries in the town we live in--but coming here made me wish this was in our town! My husband ordered a pint of Sea Wolf and he really enjoyed that. I had the Love Boat on my flight which sounded intriguing to me. It was SO GOOD. It was an ill Ali eery and graham cracker sour. I'm not always a sour lover, but it was the perfect balance. I would say that and the Sea Wolf were my favorites. The gal working, Lauren, was incredibly sweet. We asked for some local suggestions of places she liked for food, drinks, etc. and she was really helpful--gave us lots of great insight. She also chatted with us about her dog and ours...overall just really cool vibes. This will definitely be a go-to spot on all our future visits to the HMB area!“
“Very chill atmosphere and good vibes all around. This brewing spot is very spacious. Lots of seating area and games to play while sipping on a good beer. Service was really great!! No complaints here. Recommend coming here if you're looking for a good time with some company. Cheers!“
“I had the pork cochinita pibil burrito and it was delicious! It was not overpowered by the typical sour cream, lettuce or cheese. The chicken adobo was exquisite! The chicken was so flavorful, tender and juicy! We will definitely come back to try other dishes. Thanks Chef Arturo for introducing us to Mayan/Yukatan cuisine!“
“Best ice cream in the Bay Area, hands down! All flavors I've tried so far (vanilla bean, cassis, mascarpone, hazelnut) were super delicious! Very creamy, lots of flavor, and not too sugary. Also super friendly service, and they even exchange flavors if you don't like some! Which won't happen...“
“Food was excellent. Service was good but not great. Our server was not totally with it. He kept calling for a chicken sandwich when I clearly ordered a chicken salad. The salad was great. We made sure the chicken sandwich we did not order was taken off the bill. Our appetizer never came. We made sure it was not in the bill. Ambiance was good. We like the HMB Brewery, have been there many times over the years and plan to be back. Food is fresh, well prepared, and well presented. We hope the server at our table gets better over the weeks to come. The four stars given for the server missing his mark over the appetizer and the sandwich we did not order. Otherwise it would have been five stars.“
“You would never think this was a fine dining restaurant from the outside. Every detail on the inside is quality. From the silverware to the service, these owners did not cut corners on anything. If you come when it is slow, you will feel like royalty. The lobster bisque is mind blowing. When I say you will lick the plate, I am not exaggerating. This restaurant is a must try for any seafood lover.“
“(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is hidden gem in plain sight coffee house in HMB! Such gorgeous rustic interior decorations! Love the solid wood wall and elephant motiff. Athima warmly greeted us. We ordered the Double Down on the Everything bagel. Bacon, Egg, Sausage goodiness that defines hearty. Double Down is how I Iike it! We also got the Doggy Style...Special. Doggy Special! (For the canine owner in all of us) Sorta impossible for me to order with a straight face. But I did. Is it mischievous me or the words that have a mesmerizing effect? Everyone but the IG model beside me were instantly catatonic. And yes, Yes, YES! They were the best scrambled eggs on Earth! Names do hold magic. By contrast, the Green Pineapple drink exemplified strict good behavior in liquid nourishment! So delish! So green nutrish! The quad shot Gingerbread Cappucino was very Hansel & Gretel good! Heavenly! Especially, for high performance engines like me that run on a higher blood level of cAMP. Isn't that right, ladies? My gosh we just loved this place! The great service, the warm ambiance, and the fab cuisine. Would order everything again...maybe more next time! Super mega thanks, Athima! Woohoo!“
“I've only been a handful of times, but every time has been wonderful! The food is always delicious and fresh, and affordable. The inside seating is cozy and quaint with a dark ambiance, including a piano! The bartenders are always really nice as well. All the staff have very welcoming and friendly energy. The outside has nice fire pits and it's quite literally right by the beach. You can literally walk right into the sand about 100 feet away.I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves delicious and affordable food with a comfortable and cozy atmosphere✨ Plus the beach?! Definitely give them a visit!“
“First time visiting Half Moon Bay and love the vibe! Eating @ this popular breakfast place, Johnny's, added to the overall experience. Decided to check it out after reading all the Yelp reviews. Immediately I noticed all the details that make this place feel welcoming. First, are the fresh flowers at each table and also on the counters! There is a bit of 60s theme throughout, but not overpowering. Service is excellent! The OG Eggs Bennedicte with potatoes was deliciously satisfying! Loved everything and hope to return in near future. Parking was surprisingly easy to find this morning considering it was a week day. I heard parking on weekends and holidays is another story.“
“Loved the customer service here! Loved the Sojourn Blend Lodi and Exploration Blend Lodi-, for the White we also purchased the French Colombard- if you are looking for something fruity and sweet! Very cozy inside with a mini shop for souvenirs and funny decor!“
“This place is the best! We took our whole family here after walking the HMB beach path Easter morning. My husband and I have a 3 year old boy, a 10 month old girl as well as a (lazy) bulldog and everyone enjoyed this place! The food was delish--I had the burger with arugula and buttermilk ranch & my hubby had the fried chicken sando-- to both! The drinks were so refreshing, I had the hazy IPA and the hubby had a regular IPA, the hazy was better imo. The ambiance in the dog area exceeded our expectations. They have music playing outside and it's totally a vibe for the whole family. I would highly recommend this place. Just be aware they are closed Monday & Tuesday.“
“We dropped by Sam's to get takeout last summer. We didn't end up eating it for a couple of hours, so I'm not sure how accurate this review will be. We ordered at the front window and it took around 15 minutes to get the food. It was a pleasant wait since we could walk along the beach while waiting for the food. The seafood cioppino was pretty pricey ($38 at the time). It was quite good -- the broth has great savory and spicy flavor. The shrimp is also cooked really well as were the clams. The one thing I didn't like about this dish was the fish fillet. It was really tough and overcooked. I think it's mostly due to the type of fish, which is prone to becoming tough. There was a lot of fish compared to the other seafood components. This dish was great other than the fish. We basically had it cold because we didn't want to overcook the seafood, but we could still appreciate the flavors. We also got the naked (hot and buttered) lobster roll ($30 at the time). We had it cold, but it was still pretty good. There was quite a lot of claw meat in addition to other parts of the lobster. The main downside of what we tried was the fish in the cioppino. Everything else was good, and I'd go back. I don't know if I'd wait a long time to be seated, though -- maybe takeout and eating soon after is the move. It's a really nice location and clearly a very popular place.“
