“JCB Tasting Salon in downtown Yountville was not on our itinerary for our trip when we found ourselves walking through the front doors with a couple of women we had met down the street at Priest Ranch. We discovered the one of the women had a membership at JCB, so not only did we have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the opulent and extravagant tasting room and the private tasting room in the back of the property. While the exterior looks fairly nondescript, which may be part of the point because you would never think what lies beneath the doors is anything interesting, the interior is like experiencing an acid trip in an extravagant Liberace way but definitely memorable and fun. Their private tasting room, screams, "Take some selfies," due to the wild and artsy furniture and trappings. The rose is also very tasty, very enjoyable, and a great wine to prepare for dinner.“

“Attention. To. Detail. Over the past couple of years I've heard my wife talk about wanting to go to The French Laundry, so this year I surprised her with a very early birthday surprise up in Napa! After coordinating with two other couples and booking reservations, I got an email asking for any special occasions or dietary restrictions. I informed them of the birthday celebration and the fact that we had someone who was gluten free. When we got there they knew our party and wished my wife a happy birthday and brought us to our seats. When we looked at the menu we all noticed that they printed "Happy Birthday (wife's name)" on the top of the menu, which we got to keep after the dinner. A few at our table got the wine pairings which are tailored to how much you'd like to spend and the sommelier did not miss. Each meal was an experience and at one point someone in our party was obsessed with how good the asparagus tasted. They also substituted every gluten item for our party member that was gluten free so they got to enjoy every course, which was a worry in the back of my mind that was put to ease. At the end they invited us down to the kitchen and we got to (briefly) see the chefs at work. Then at the end, each couple got their own menu, wine list of the pairings we had and some goodies for a late night or morning snack. My wife got her own happy birthday chocolate bar from Thomas Keller as well! This was all of our first times at The French Laundry and I don't believe it will be our last either. Amazing experience with great friends and we will be back!“

“Being Brazilian of Portuguese descent and a good cook, my expectations were managed. I didn't check reviews or saw photos but took a look at their menu outside and had to try their Portuguese dishes. The cod fritters bolinhos de bacalhau were authentic and delicious. It's hard to make them and find descent salted cod. The wine flights, white port wine, desserts and the whole dining experience were fantastic. These days most restaurants are very expensive with mediocre or just ok food. La Salette made me believe in great food again. The flavors kept building up and surprised us. We're coming back soon.“

“I’m here in Napa celebrating my birthday and had a tasting booked, the week before my tasting I got a call and Stephanie apologized that they’d be closed for renovations but would reach out to a neighboring tasting room to see if they would hold our tasting which we agreed. We then heard from Scott who let us know the details of our tasting location right across the street. Upon arrival at Gambling McDuck Scott greeted us and our tasting began just before Erin stopped by our table to introduce herself as well. As a bubbles person the tasting did not disappoint as we told Scott we’d let him take the reigns of choosing our flight not only was the champagne amazing with getting to try a new champagne but I can’t say enough about how great Scott was we felt like we were just talking to an old friend while the next time I come to Napa I’ll try some different experiences I’ll definitely be back for BeBubbly!!“

“Huge recommendation to everyone for Kina’s.We dined at Kinas tonight after having been awol for a while. Wow! Just wow! The food is just great. We all shared the nachos as a family appetizer and the flavors were bursting in every bite.My daughter had the burger and loved it. It was enough that she brought 1/2 home and there were enough fries for the entire family to satisfy our craving.We both had the pozole (just one of 7 soups). The broth had a great mild spice and the soup was surely enough as a meal. They serve a side of chili oil to spice it up if you like.The food selection is great. I struggled to decide between the Fish Tacos and the soup. Plenty of parking. We have a couple of other regular spots around town and honestly, they simply don't match the flavor and quality of the food. Well done!!! We will be back for sure“
“We arrived at the shop an hour prior to closing to celebrate our daughter's birthday who recently turned 21. We met Ori who was jovial and very hospitable. It was our 1st time here so he explained to us that after the wine tasting he will find the right bottle of wine for each of us. Ori started off with asking if we were looking for red, white, or both. Then the next question was if we like dry or fruity wine. We wanted both so he started us off with a bottle of dry white and asked us if we liked it then based on your answer he will let you taste different type of wine from small locally grown winery until he found the right bottle for each of the taster. We went thru the same process with red wines. Even though Ori does not drink wine, but he is very knowledgeable enjoys his job, very lively, fun, patience so it made our wine tasting experience very memorable . If you have never drank wine or does not know what you want to drink, I highly recommend visiting Ori and go thru the process. It will save you tons of money trying to figure out what kind of wine fits your taste. My wife and daughters walked out if their half drunk due to the amount of wine Ori offered to us. “The most beautiful landscaped vineyard in Rutherford. The Cab Franc is out of this world. Well worth a stop to enjoy some grape while you walk and take in all this property has to offer. From the sycamore trees to coy pond and all in between. Peju is a new favorite of mine and we look forward to visiting again. ??“

As I was passing by Alpha Omega, I noticed their beautifully decorated Christmas tree sparkling in the afternoon sunlight. “Stopped here on a whim, the wife had seen this while driving by previously and thought it looked cute. We normally sit outside with our dog but they are very dog friendly so sat inside, light rain that day and it was a bit chilly. That said they do have a very nice patio with fire pits. They owners were really nice and accommodating, very knowledgeable on wine and there is a great selection. This is not your normal run of the mill Napa wine selection, there are wines from all over the world and some very interesting ones. The prices are pretty reasonable also. They do a blind tasting, wine by the glass or bottle. Definitely worth stopping by.“

But let's talk food and drink: yup, the frose' is worthy of the hype. The strawberry was my favorite, but the frozen gin and tonic was really nice too- a really good balance of herbal and sweet, with a touch of mint. But I was really impressed that the bar stocked a Hendry Albarino- not usually available outside of the winery. Food was great too! My arugala salad was delicious as was my husband's roasted chicken sandwich on Model Bakery focaccia- yum! I'd suggest reservations as this is in the Oxbow Market which can get crowded.“
