“What an amazing experience at Monarch Casino in Blackhawk, CO! The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooftop pool is absolutely stunning—definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The staff went above and beyond, and I have to give a special shoutout to Simon for his exceptional service. An added bonus was the outdoor firepits and hot tub, which offered incredible views of the mountains—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the blackout curtains made for the best night’s sleep of our whole trip. It was so nice to be able to sleep in and enjoy a later checkout time of noon. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!”

“Pizza here is amazing. Worth the drive from Denver. Been here several times. Every time the pizza is hot fresh and made with the best ingredients. My favorite pizza is the chicken pesto. Also bonus points for having other options besides a tomato sauce base. Would recommend and it’s less expensive than casino food.”

“Great food and Roy is a great guy. We like to come up for lunch while out on a ride. The last time we were here last month (August) we split a pizza for lunch, was great. I said I wanted a sundae and Rot took me back to the kitchen and built this huge sundae. Roy and Barb are super people. Dave & Connie”

I wish they had good gravy for chicken fried meats and biscuits, but it's not... it's weird.
Servers definitely hate their jobs. You can distinguish the new peppy employees from the old grumpy ones. Water cups are usually dirty (I bring my own drinks now) Salad was brown, limp, and sour. Fries always come out cold (you shouldn't make these until the rest of the food is almost done). Honestly, we only go when we get free comps... we make it work...”

“My grilled chicken sandwich was burnt some on both sides. Fries were great. Speed wasn't a priority but it was past 1am so I was patient since they were open so late on a Sunday night.”

“Now I'm from Mississippi and I only visited this place once, but the staff I met was friendly and the bbq sauce on offer was different from what I'm used to but it was delicious. Their cole slaw was definitely different from what I'm used to in the south but my fiance and I loved how different and light tasting it was. I'd definitely come here again when we vacation in the area again. Their pork belly burnt ends nachos are amazing as well!”

“I dine out often. Out of all my experiences, Devan Hayes was the best waiter I have ever had. He made sure my boyfriend and I were more than satisfied with everything from food and drinks to seating and ambiance. Every time he came around our table, I could not stop smiling. He is so accommodating. He truly understands the luxury of fine dining. He did not rush us, which is a common issue I have. My boyfriend and I were very specific/ picky about how we used our rewards points and he was so happy to accommodate us. I’m am SO impressed & very surprised when he told us it is only his 2nd week. DEVIN IS THEN BEST!! I hope everyone experiences a server like him. He truely makes the dining experience great. ❤️”

“I only go for the all-you-can eat crab legs and they are always delicious. I wish they’d drop some Old Bay seasoning in their boil, but other than that the quality and freshness are thumbs up. I say freshness but I guess I mean they give you a steaming hot plate of legs.
Last time I went I had a slice of blueberry cheesecake and their peanut butter cookies. Both of these were surprisingly better than your average dessert. After stuffing himself, my husband got a prime rib and it was weird. Like maybe it was a pressed meat? Idk! I’m still giving the food 5 stars because crab legs and I keep thinking about that pb cookie.
The service is always quick and friendly. They do a stand up job of keeping plates cleared off the tables and your drinks filled. Sometimes I just gotta have crab legs and for $50 all you-can-eat, this is one of the best deals in the area.”

“Ameristar is a really nice resort! It has a beautiful hotel, with a pool and roof top hot tubs. The spa is very impressive. The 2 floors of the casino are filled with a wide variety of slots and table games. Unfortunately, the table game minimums are too high for me. But the bars have video poker . Overall, this is a great resort!”
