8 Best Craft Breweries near Breckenridge

Broken Compass Brewery Main Street Brewery • $
520 S Main St Unit 2V, Breckenridge

“Absolutely a must stop!!!! They have a shirt that says drink beer, pet dogs - how can it not be fabulous?! I drank a beer (super good) and petted a bunch of dogs while I was there so they also delivered on expectations ? Seriously though, a great place and will definitely be on my must stop list if I'm in Breck again.“

Highside Brewing - Breckenridge Brewery • $$

“Imagine a brewery. Imagine a brewery's off-site taproom. Imagine a brewery's off-site taproom with one bartender (motivated and moving quickly, but perhaps less help than might be needed when it gets busy - which it does). And then imagine a surprising set of beers that are all brewed by the namesake brewery off-site. The standout for me was the barleywine - you don't find them often these days, and this was quite a nice one. The ginger cider was also quite brilliant. The remainder were good, not great, but you cannot knock everything out of the park. The imperial stout had nice body and flavor, but there was just a touch of fusile alcohol in it that was minimally offputting. I drank them all, appreciated the time and space, and was glad I stopped in. It can be a bit loud, so be aware if you have sensitive ears or are trying to have a conversation with more than 3 people.“

Broken Compass Brewing Brewery • $$
68 Continental Ct Unit B-12, Breckenridge

“Love the beer, music and dog friendliness. But wish everyone was expected to keep their dogs on leash. The “free roamers” ruin it for those of us with dogs on leash. They beg for and take our dog’s food and knock over beers. Apparently they’re owners are “special.” ?“

Outer Range Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“Always better to apres at Outer Range than at the ski mountain. Great views, some of the best IPAs in Colorado, good mix of locals and tourists, and lots of different spaces to hang. Also includes a coffee bar and a Thai chicken food counter.“

Steep Brewing and Coffee Co. Brewery • $$
195 River Run Rd, Keystone - 10.02 miles

“My go to place for a legit coffee before a day on the mountain. The bake goods are fresh and the coffee is delicious. In an area that is largely corporately owned, this great spot maintains a local vibe that pairs perfectly with an outdoor playground like Keystone.“

Highside Brewing - Frisco Brewery • $$
720 Main St, Frisco - 7.16 miles

“Very comfortable seating area & very spread out, so it is easy to move around. The staff was good, the beer was average. There are better local breweries from a quality perspective. I enjoyed seeing a pale lager & kölsch on the menu. To have 3 milk stouts & another imperial milk stout seems unnecessary. A dry & roasty stout would have been great to see, especially in the midst of a blizzard. The Ginger Cranberry sour was a big standout. The food & bbq smelled great, but we had just eaten. Overall, I would visit again if I didn't feel like driving somewhere else, but for the beer nerds out there, I wouldn't consider this a "must visit."“

“Authentic staff and a great line-up of very good beers. Cocktails are available too and others in my party mentioned they were good as well. The pizza here is pretty good, but for the price I was hoping for a little better; there is just something too gooey about the cheese and all the pizza we ordered seem slightly undercooked so there may be a dough issue.“

“This may be a much better bar experience than a bbq experience. We served ourselves so technically I give ourselves 5 stars for getting our own chairs ready and moving tables, and also we get 5 more stars for walking to the bar and ordering then going to pick up the food at the window. As luck would have it I got the jerky, hard tack style ribs, and while those were ok, they didn’t fall off the bone as much as remind me of the rugged tough mtns we just skied. Fully finished all of them though, almost out of spite. Like skiing a triple black diamond- I know I can do it and I WILL get to the bottom no matter how many trees I hit! Personally I think they sat on the smoker 3 hrs too long. The absolute best dish was the brisket green chile bowl. Stick with that and you’ll have a 10 star dining experience. Pin ball machines were fun. Lively place and felt festive, and the staff was kind enough to help when we started setting up tables and chairs to sit at. As much as we wanted this to be great bbq, it just was a better bar to go sit and have drinks at.“
