“Because it is a restaurant on the Michelin guide, I gave it a try. There is no doubt that this is a Western-style Chinese restaurant. The cold dishes were okay. We ordered bang bang chicken salad and beef tongue and tripe. Although bang bang chicken salad has nothing to do with authentic Sichuan bang bang chicken, I actually tasted the taste of Qianlong cabbage. The beef tongue and tripe is the best in the show, and the chili oil is very good. Twice cooked pork belly (twice-cooked pork) has a lot of meat, but the meat is cut too thick and does not stir-fry out the light nests that twice-cooked pork should have. Moreover, the twice-cooked pork should be stir-fried with black bean sauce and sweet noodle sauce. The twice-cooked pork here only has the taste of sweet noodle sauce and not the taste of black bean sauce. Stir-fried shanghai bok choy (stir-fried shanghai bok choy) is not stir-fried, but is made in a way similar to the soup of baby cabbage. Moreover, this soup should be made with a lot of relish, not boiled broth.
All in all, foreigners who just want to eat high-end Western-style Chinese food can come here, but Chinese people who want to eat hometown food don't have to try it.“

“The food and service today was amazing! Everything was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The weekly dessert option was the perfect finish to the incredible meal and fantastic beer and cocktail selection. The scallion pancakes were my favorite. The noodles and fried rice with corned beef need no description. Once you try them it’s pretty much understood you WILL be back for more. I always find either the atmosphere, food, or service to be one of the stars of the show when visiting a new restaurant but honestly there was no way I could pick what this restaurant did best. The staff is welcoming as soon as you step in the door and helpful with any questions. It’s small but cozy and very clean. Whoever came up with the concept and menu is a genius. The decorations are perfect and the counter service with food and beverages delivered makes ordering easy. One of the top 5 Casual dining experiences I’ve had yet.“

“Great Chinese cuisine! We had the pork soup dumplings, steamed bao, and shao mai, which were all extremely delicious and freshly made. I'd recommend this place to anyone with a craving for dumplings. The restaurant is very cozy with nice music. Worth the drive if you're far out!“

“Good, almost great. The food is good but isn't very authentic and seems to lean heavily on salt and sugar to make it tasty. Having Chinese characters/Pinyin on the menu (where I was the only Chinese person in the entire restaurant) feels like the food should be authentic. Also, serving rice in a takeout container feels a little offensive given the sacredness of rice as the foundation of a Chinese meal.
However, the spice is nice and the flavors pop well if you're not expecting truly authentic flavors and are used to Westernized cuisine. Definitely above average for Asian food in Denver, but I'd recommend South Federal/Broomfield/Aurora for better and less expensive Asian food.
For the price and all the added service fees, I would have expected full service and food served in non-plastic dishes. It's a nice way to try some dishes without venturing out too far.“

“Dumplings: very good vegan dumplings!!!!
Veggie noodles: fresh and not too oily.
I do with (a) larger portion size and (b) more veggies with the noodles.
Small seating area that was comfortable. Outdoor picnic tables available.“

“The restaurant itself is a bit modest and don't expect a fancy ambience. Disposable cutlery and simple furniture, but clean and homely. The food is phenomenal. I felt like I ate at someone's house. The ingredients were healthy and the preparation was also excellent. Not oily or salty, all the flavors were balanced. Extremely vegan friendly. We ordered mapo tofu without meat, stir fried broccoli, and veg lo mein. Everything was excellent. Owners were friendly. Seemed like a small family run place. Reasonable prices and huge servings. We had enough leftovers for next day's lunch.“

“This place exceeded all expectations. We ordered the sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, egg drop soup, crispy dumplings, and received free crab cheese wontons for spending $30+. The portions were so large we could have made plates for 6 people. Well worth the money and everything was delicious. This is the best Chinese I've had in Denver!
Parking: Next to 7-11“

“We have been coming here for a couple of months now and love the food. Really good prices and for the amount of food served.
There’s about 3 places closer to us but all have had horrible experiences and this place has been nothing but amazing!“

“The entrance is a little hard to find, due to the main stairs being blocked off, but if you go around the building by the dumpster there is a hidden staircase. As soon as you walk in, the lights are down low, but the atmosphere is very familiar, and calm. The service is excellent, i was treated with love and care, and the food was most definitely made with love. The food was more than delicious, and i love how the woman always checks up on the costumers. Great restaurant for a first date, or a calm meal and conversation. 5 stars.“

“I highly recommend the Mongolian Beef—it was very tasty and full of flavor. The Singapore Street Noodles were also good, with a nice spicy kick. The Red Velvet Cake was enjoyable, though not particularly extra-ordinary. The service was attentive, and the restaurant has a lovely, well-decorated ambiance that adds to the dining experience. They even gave us fortune cookies before we left, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend trying it out!“

“Amazing. Better than places we went to in NYC and Washington DC area. This is authentic cooking that is relatable, flavorful, reasonably priced. Packed for lunch mid-week. Given the prices now of going out, ditch the hipster places and come here.“

“Without a doubt my favorite Chinese Spot in the area. Super fast service, flavorful food, and great prices. This isn’t the average plastic $.99 Chinese food. They’re also one of the only places still serving actual fried egg rolls, making Lotus the king of Chinese side dishes. Always very friendly, too.“

“We greatly enjoyed Hong Kong Cafe. We had never been there and we found it on line and noticed that they had very good reviews. We had a great meal for 13 people. The service was courteous, fast and excellent and the food portions generous and delicious. I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.“

“This place is a hidden gem in Lakewood! It's located in an older shopping center so it's not super easy to find, but worth it if you're in the area.
We ordered the Hong Kong Special Pan Fried Noodles along with the Volcano Steak, which they actually lit on fire!
The food was delicious and the staff was quite attentive. I will be returning here soon.“

“Please note this review is about the CHEF'S COUNTER EXPERIENCE, which they make a point of saying is separate from the main restaurant experience.
To be honest, I was pretty disappointed. The meal (two tasting menus plus two wine pairings) came out to $700 and it simply wasn't worth it. Part of the issue is the 22% service charge which they include automatically. I already don't like when 18% service charges are included automatically. 22% is obnoxious.
The service was very good, but not good enough to pay that much for. The food on the other hand was OK. I give the dishes an A- or B+ on unique and interesting. But some were too salty, and the overall flavors just didn't wow me enough to warrant a $700 price tag for dinner for two. The wine pairings were excellent though, and they served some very good and interesting wines.
I'd like to try the normal restaurant at some point, but wouldn't do the chef's counter experience again.“
