“My husband and I dined at American Steakhouse for the first time last week. It was a rainy day and we had come out of the DMV starving and the smell got us inside. We were r pleasantly surprised at how budget friendly the menu was, the freshness of the sides and entrees and the multiple additional hot sides we were offered. The star of the show was Lisa. She was so kind and professional and greeted us with a genuine smile. Since it was our first time we asked for recommendations and she happily told us about some of her favorites. We tried everything she suggested and it was all good. She was multitasking and took care of every table like it was the only one she had. She made our experience that much better. We will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: We had our 7 month old son with us and there was plenty of room for his stroller and for us to tuck him away so he could sleep. Even with a lot going on up front you don’t feel it once you’re in the dining room. He slept the whole time!“

“Over the last week I’ve had the pleasure to be waited on by Kelli in the bar, and Pedro in the main dining room. Both were attentive to my needs. I did not want for anything throughout my meal. They were on top of the service. I wish them both well and thank them for exemplary service. Thank you!Parking: Super easy parking with ample spaces.“

“We decided to try The Smithy for our anniversary dinner out. It has kind of an up to date 70’s steakhouse vibe. It’s one of a dying breed that still has the old school salad bar that’s included with your meal. It had a nice steakhouse menu with a nice variety of selections. I got the French onion soup starter. The flavor was good, but I don’t think the cheese was Gruyère that is what’s supposed to be used, I’m pretty sure it was mozzarella. For our Entrees I had the porterhouse and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly to perfection to a nice medium rare. Both came with a baked potato that was cooked perfectly as well. The only knock I have on the potato is the up-charge for the bacon and chives of $2 each. Especially when you can get bacon bits included with the salad bar and the amount of chives were negligible. We decided to have the brownie sundae for dessert and that was a nice throwback too. The waiter said they had a good cappuccino so we gave those a try with the dessert. We were kind of disappointed with those as well as they were basically instant coffee with some cream and topped with whipped cream, not a cappuccino. Overall the food was very good. Our waiter was very helpful, personable and friendly as well so that was nice. This was a very nice steakhouse with great food. It has a few areas that could be improved on a little bit, but the good far outweighs any negatives (I won’t say bads here).I would happily go back again.“

“I love this restaurant! The best food you can get. Specifically the chicken and honey mustard is astounding!Parking: The to-go spots are full pretty often. On a busy weekend you may have some trouble finding parking, at least in the front of the restaurant.“

“Overall food was delicious. Fried calamari was a bit overcooked. Ceasars salad was delicious as was filet mignon, garlic mashed and sautéed spinach. Joseph, our waiter and staff, is very attentive. We've been to the Stamford location and a great experience as well. Given the size of the room, we were elated that it was quiet to enjoy our company and talk.“

“Priceless. My dad and I come here year after year…porterhouse for two. 5pm! Tomato and onion salad. Creamed spinach and a baked potato. Shirley Temple and an Arnold Palmer. Sinatra on the radio. All just as it should be!! I treasure this time with my dad and suggest you bring yours to Joesph’s.“
