“I went to Southern Dishes, Seafood, & Desserts in Meriden today. When I say they truly have southern soul food, it’s an understatement. The food was definitely well seasoned, chicken falls off the bone, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious!”

“We have never gotten a bad meal. Best prime rib around. Best stuffed shrimp also. I do think the shrimp got smaller. Prices are fair. My only complaint would be that the carpet is disgusting. It HAS to be over 30 yrs old maybe 40 cause I've been eating here for many yrs now”

“This was the first time that myself and my family decided to go to Violis. We had family visiting from Italy and it was very difficult to find a restaurant open on a Monday in my area. It's always a challenge when you find a new place cuz you have no idea how the food is going to be. To our surprise, everything was fantastic! From the servers to the person filling our Waters every time our Waters were empty. And most importantly the food was exceptional. We will be going back there soon and I highly recommend anybody who's interested in going do so.”

“It’s a cheap local dive lives up to what you would need from a watering hole. Inexpensive drinks, not pretentious, mainly plastic cups, good people. First time, walked in and had a small chat with a patron before the night was done. Plus, unlike some other aptly named Irish pubs, they do have Guinness *cough obrians*. Decent draft list too for a small local. Didn’t play, but seems like a good setup for darts too. I might not take a date or the wife for low key dinner and drinks, but after work or a friend for a cheap blow off steam evening? Absolutely.”

“From the moment I walked in , I was greated with a smile and a welcoming feeling, to the beautiful Italian music on a crisp sound system delightful to the ear and a subtle yet elegant interior design. I started with a glass of merlo with thier bread and butter and the chicken soup , perfect portion and great taste with the wine and soup. For my entree I went with a simple ravioli that came with a salad with thier house vinegarette. Soooooooooooooooo good!!!! I 💯 percent recommend this establishment for a lunch or dinner!”

The cupcakes are good, however the cupcake frostings are flat and lack flavor. Everything else is so tasty at this bakery - I think the bakers definitely have the talent to improve their frosting recipe.”

“The food was good, what you would expect from a pizza place, I gave them a four because we decided to order milkshakes, and the milkshakes didn't taste very well, and they had no thickness to them.

The service was exceptional, but when we told the guy behind the counter that we didn't like the milkshakes, he made no comment at all.”

“11/09/24- I stopped by after work heading to the hotel and George was on duty. He was busy, but immediately acknowledged me and went to wash up and came back happy.

We discussed the subs and he recommended #34 Spcy Nachos Steak. He added the way it says, but without green 🫑, extra jalapeños.

This is day two experience and I don’t know if previous reviews were out of anger because I have had great customer service.

11/08/24- I haven’t been to a Subway in years and today I stopped by for the $6.99 special. I walked in and was loudly greeted by Ilvin who was friendly and made me feel like I’m an old customer. He made all the customers feel comfortable and happy to be there.

Subway has so many new meals I asked Ilvin about the different subs. Ilvin did not seem put out and he went over the breads, the meats and all the toppings. He made it easy to order but hard to choose 😋

I ordered #23 Hotshot Italiano Sub based on his recommendation and it did not disappoint because I enjoyed every bite.

He wasn’t stingy with the jalapeños and he added just enough sauce that it didn’t make the bread soggy.

Ilvin explained how to earn points. If he isn’t the manager he is manager material with his positive attitude. I asked about the other guy in the back and Ivin said they are a team. I was impressed he spoke well of his staff.

I leave in a week, but I may start eating a new subway every day thanks to Ilvin and my great experience! Ya Sabes! 😎

Kid-friendliness: I am sure they have a sub for every kid. If the kid is picky or not, chubby or thin there’s a sub on the menu for them.”
