“Naugatuck Nutrition has definitely been a lifesaver in a town that has very little nutritional options and overpriced, mediocre-at-best takeout. Great for when you’re hungover, needing to curb a sweet craving, wanting a light lazy breakfast/lunch, or are feeling sick. Would I say that I agree with the use of Multi level marketing Herbalife? I definitely do not like that part and surely would be happier with a protein mix that includes whole food powders, and more nutrients. It’s understandable how many can see this as overpriced, however as someone who makes protein shakes at home regularly, the prices make sense. You are not only paying for a protein shake, but you are paying for something more indulgent and that’ll taste great, as well as the labor that goes into it. Rather than having one powder you have endless possibilities of flavor combinations and are buying time off of your hands. For me it’s between paying $8-$13 for a healthier meal replacement, or having to opt in to supporting businesses that make low quality, nutritionless food and charge twice that amount… or I cook for myself which I don’t always have time for! It’s give or take. Thanks for being here Naugatuck nutrition!“
“This is my favorite place to get breakfast. The owner and family that run the business are amazing! The selection is vast, and everything I have tried has been delicious. The customer base is friendly, and I have run into people I know coming for a great meal. It is a cozy place. You can dine in or carry out. My favorite place, especially if you want a great bagel! It is a guilty pleasure that is worth it!“
“Stopped in for breakfast today and found my new favorite spot! There were plenty of options on the menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. They make the bread fresh and it adds such a nice touch to the meal. Excellent food with hearty portions, and excellent service too.“
“It was my first time here at their cafe in middlebury. I came in for breakfast. Cute little cafe. It's located in the medical building. Definitely a little pricey but that is because they serve fresh and good quality food. They have quick snacks, salads, and desserts for grab and go. They have a bunch of great sounding fall specials so now is the time to check them out. I got a pumpkin flavored iced coffee which they use the Omar brand which I love. I ordered the farmhouse breakfast sandwich without the tomatoes and on gluten free bread. It was delicious! I definitely wish I lived closer to here because I would be here all the time. But I'll be back when in the area. Quite a selection for breakfast and lunch. I recommend checking them out! Also very friendly staff!“
“What refreshing little neighborhood cafe! It's nothing fancy and exactly what you want a free morning close to home. I didn't delve into the menu but trusted a friend who goes often and I wasn't disappointed! We shared the breakfast charcuterie board featuring Pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, Italian smoked sausage, cheese, tater tots and fried eggs. Add a couple of Americanos and we were set for a couple hours of great food and conversation. Have it there or get something to go and you'll get your day started right.“
“BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I'VE EVER HAD. I love how many options they give you with each ingredient. The steak and egg with southwest sauce on an everything bagel was incredible. Sauce has a good kick, I'd say around jalapeno level of heat FYI. Ignore the review below. Yeah it takes a little longer than Dunkin cuz the food is freshly made to order, duhh.“
“While in the area, we were hungry for breakfast and decided to give Jimmy’s a try. Loved the no frills, hometown diner vibe right away. They had everything you could want for breakfast on the menu. They did a great job on the poached eggs, and the bacon was nice and crispy. Our one critique would be that the corned beef hash didn’t seem homemade. The food came out quickly and our waitress was attentive. I would definitely come back!“
“Went to 88 Keys with friends for an evening out at their reccommendation. We were not disappointed. It is a small place so reservations are required. My husband remarked several times how nice it was to go somewhere that was not super crowded. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed wonderful live music and a good meal. Service was exceptional and the dessert just amazing! It was a lively experience all around.“
“Exceptional! Seriously, the owners and the staff wonderful and very kind. The food was surprisingly good, and I would have to say the best fried dough in an empanada I ever had. I tried the sugar emapanada and it was wonderful! All the food is home made, it is absolutely delicious! The best emapanada anywhere! And the prices are unbelievable, usually I pay $5 per empanada, but here it's only $3, wow, Plus their combos are amazing, and amazingly priced. 5 stars. Well deserved.“
“I walked into this establishment and was blown away by the wide variety of shakes and teas to choose from. The staff was very friendly, and actually helped me to finally make a decision on what shake and tea to choose. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to get some protein shakes and teas to help keep your body and mind in shape.“
“We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! Lots of specialty Italian food, cheeses etc. Super nice guy who made our espresso. We would definitely stop in again for more!“
“I work nearby and I’m not sure why it took me so long to check this place out. First off, their coffee/lattes are fantastic, some of, if not the best I’ve had in the city. They have many flavors and their specialty lattes are all very good. The food is also fantastic. Fresh and reasonably priced. I’m not sure if they bake their bread in house but it’s very soft and delicious, it tastes freshly baked. I haven’t had any of their bakery items yet but I imagine they’re also great. I highly recommend this place for coffee/breakfast. It’s roomy with enough seats to relax and get some work done if you need a place to sit too. The staff is very friendly as well. A nice little downtown gem.“
“My gosh!!! The food here is amazing!!!!!!! I'm talking the freshest salads pilled high with any or all of the options ( there's a ton!) I actually felt healthier after eating here. You can tell they are using quality ingredients. Gluten free options galore. We got take out but they have indoor and outdoor dining. We are local but how lucky for the Rt 84 travelers that happen to get off the highway right there to gas up and eat. A healthy fresh meal on the road is hard to find. What a little treasure in Middlebury, Connecticut“
“I searched high and low looking for a place to make my husband's special birthday cake which was a carrot cake cheesecake. Much to my surprise there aren't many places that make this type of dessert. However, Amy reached out to me and ultimately made the most delicious cake ever! She and her husband were very easy to communicate with and followed through with all of my special requests. I will surely be back for more special occasion cakes!“
“I actually haven't been there but my friend had her purse stolen and her license somehow ended up there. A gentleman, Dave, was sweet enough to mail it to her. Speaks volumes of the wonderful people at this establishment! Heather says thank you so much!“
“This was my favorite study spot in college, now I come here to read before my appointments in Waterbury. I love their specialty drinks, I usually pick a drink from their seasonal favorites when I'm here. They also have a really good chicken sandwich that I'll get if I'm here around lunch time. Staff is always so nice and quick. I feel comfortable hanging out here. The only issue was I noticed a lot of their seating has the pleather torn apart so badly you can't sit on it comfortably. The benefit of this place was their comfy chairs, so hopefully they get those replaced soon!“
“Speak Easy is a local point of interest to stop by and say hello to friends. The personnel working there are quick with service, even when the tables inside and out are full. You can call it the Cheers of Waterbury, because we are not in Boston.“
“My wife and I had the great pleasure of stopping by Cafe Bravada for lunch yesterday. We had the Cuban sandwich and it was the best we've every had. Chef Barnett stopped by our table and he was an absolute pleasure to speak with. His restaurant has a unique, comfortable, laid-back vibe with incredible food. We can't wait to visit again!!“
“I had never been to this bakery before but followed them on Facebook. One day I saw a photo of a cake they posted and thought it was gorgeous. We were planning our son's first birthday party with an "Under the sea" theme. Well....I went to check things out. Amazing little bakery. I tried their canolis, custard cups and cream puffs before ordering anything! I figured if they were good then I'll order more! They were Delicious!!! Best ever!! Rui was a complete sweetheart and bounced ideas back and forth with us and would be our main contact through the owner. They were so sweet, reliable and made us trust they'd do a great job!! I couldn't have been more happy about our order than I was. Seeing our beautiful cake made me tear up and thr cupcakes to go with it matched perfectly!! We will use this bakery over again and again! If you haven't been....do not hesitate!! THANK YOU For making our son's birthday party that much more special!“
