This place was very very good. A classic small off the beaten path establishment with a terrific atmosphere and clientele and good food. Yea...it was a little pricey but it is Connecticut and a terrific last chance station for a good seafood dinner before leaving New England.
I write a lot about Cherry Street. I've been going there for more than 30 years; it's the place to go in New Canaan for burgers, fries and some fresh vegetables, if that's your thing (it's mine and my girls'). The atmosphere is great pub; one can sit at the bar or in a seat in the back and catch a game on TV, or sit in the front and just enjoy the pub atmosphere. I have have been coming here lately for the last 6 months taking my father here for lunch. Cherry Street has been a locals favorite for many years. The food has been consistently great and as advertised. The service is excellent and always makes you feel welcome and like a local. If you are looking for an excellent bar and grill this is the place.
