“Stopped by alone at this beautiful locale for a quick.bite. No all day breakfast but got a toasted bagel, lox, coffee and a hot cup of vegetable soup. Bagel and coffee were great, soup hot, spicy but a bit off (funny, I would say too hot). Order gal even brought soup and bagel to my table. Great crowd on a gray April Sunday lunchtime. Few issues (besides soup): Only cash (but ATM helps), no public restroom, prices no bargain (but standard premium resort pricing around NYC). No problem returning but with others and a full meal not sure I would try. If a bathroom in the area suggest pointing to place along with "no public restrooms". Most waterfront resort areas have something but unfamiliar here as juat passing through. Worth a visit but probably not a detour.“

“Here is another first visit for us, Hornets Nest Deli in Branford. While driving from East Haven through Branford we came upon the Hornets Nest Deli. The parking which is more than adequate was loaded with vehicles at 1:10P.M. thats a good sign for me. So we stopped in, first impression everyone knows everyone, lots of conversations going on very clean and lots of seating. Then you look over to the side wall and see the menu, yikes , many options available panini, sub, sandwiches and wraps, not to mention a very large choice of salads. we settled on splitting a #21 sub, grilled chicken with avocado, bacon lettuce and tomato with a balsamic vinaigrette. PERFECT, fresh bread chicken done just right a great sub. Great menu, great food, great service and a friendly staff, what more could you ask for.“

“Great "little store" for sandwiches and snacks. We tried the homemade chicken Parmesan sub and steak & cheese on a hard roll. Great bread with sesame seeds, very fresh and soft! Tasty sandwiches, made fresh by friendly, hard-working staff. Ate on their back patio table set up, which was nice. The only big disappointment is they only serve coke products and I hate them so I could only give 4 stars for no good beverage to go with my lunch. We will definitely be back when out this way again! I'll BMOB next time!“

“I fill up my tank with gas there. Occasionally, I have purchased their baked goods. These are locally handmade and absolutely delicious. I've heard the sandwiches are excellent too. Since I usually just stop for gas, I haven't purchased any sandwiches. There's a whole kitchen in the back with professional cooks. Service is excellent.“

“This quaint and picturesque area has been my favorite place to relax usually after visiting my dentist in Branford but I never stepped in this establishment till yesterday. I tried pastrami reuben written on blackboard menu and was I surprised! It came out piping hot after about 5 minutes of prep time, perfectly grilled crunchy butter toasted delicious bread, succulent and juicy pastrami, sauer kraut done just right, and whatever dressing that complmented overall taste. I savored every bite of this amazing sandwich as I watched people walking and doing their thing by the dock.“

“Best cold cut sandwiches in east haven. I been going to the deli since I was super young my grandparents lived on Gerrish Ave and we are now in the same house so The deli is definitely are go to store. Love Nam and Aum if u want an amazing cold cut sandwich this is your place you won’t be disappointed like stop n go where they put two pieces of meat. Not the deli though they load it up.“

“Went to Stellato's Deli today to grab lunch. Ended up ordering the 3.1 Panini, chicken was tender, thin sliced prosciutto with tomato, mozzarella and pesto. Great sandwich, full of great flavors , hit the spot. First time visit, will be back. Plenty of free parking in front of Deli.“

“I went here for lunch for the first time . I have always wanted to go but I have never been in the area for lunch time . It's a very cute Italian deli for take out. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and added fried peppers on a hard roll. This was amazing! Most places do not make eggplant right however, the sandwich was excellent. It was thin enough and enough breading and the sauce tasted great as well. I would definitely come back just for the eggplant. I also ordered the #6 fresh mozzarella with tomato and roasted peppers, pesto, balsamic and I added pickled eggplant. This tasted great as well. I got my husband a fried breaded flounder grinder. it comes with lettuce, tomato cheese and tartar sauce. He doesn't like tartar sauce, so I had mayo on it instead. He stated that the fish was fresh and tasted good however, it didn't have much flavor. He felt that he would want flavor in the breading in order to order it again. Overall, very happy with the lunch order and definitely would go back..“

“Best neighborhood stop for a quick breakfast or sandwich. Staff is always very nice and attentive. Love the omelets, grab and go breakfast sandwiches and all the little salads in the cooler. Also appreciated are the few tables that you can sit and eat at. A true hidden gem!“

“Stopped by looking for a snack and man did Amanda deliver. I got the chicken bacon ranch on a grinder and a side of pasta salad. This is honestly one of the best CBR I’ve had.The chicken is super moist, coupled with heaps of crispy smoked bacon, which you can really taste. The ranch gives a creamy base layer that ties in the thick cuts of lettuce and tomatoes. This is all gift wrapped in a layer of cheddar cheese. The bread was crispy and held the insides of this sub together, without leaking through.I’ll be back to try the whole rest of the menu, you should too!“

“My boss bought me a blt-tuna sandwich for lunch and I really enjoyed the entire sandwich. The roll and bacon has a great taste and texture and the tuna tastes fresh and just plain yummy. Oh, and the owner, Cody is very kind and welcoming. The only thing I wish is that they could provide healthy selection of snacks and produce. It’s like every other convenience store packed with snacks that are great for the senses but horrible for the body. Providing more fresh produce and healthier pre-packaged snacks for children and adults can help sustain a more balanced energy for the day.. That’s all. But, the food Cody and his chef makes is really good and he seems to have great sense of character, which is soo needed in our society. I will definitely suggest this place for delicious affordable eats. ?“

“Saw Vinny’s on the news last night because they allow people to buy meal vouchers for anyone who needs a meal to come in and use. So I decided to try them and buy a couple of meal vouchers. I got the #58 (The Leo - similar to an Reuben but cole slaw instead of sour kraut) and it was a really good sandwich - a good bread to meat to sauce to everything else ratio. It was better than a very popular NYC deli that I tried last month (and much more reasonably priced too!). I also got a bottle of Vinny’s root beer, which had a really nostalgic taste to it. The staff was really friendly and the place was really clean. I’ll definitely be back to try more sandwiches and a couple more meal vouchers*.*Help other people when you can, even if you don’t see the results. You never know when you maybe the one asking for help.“
