“Easily accessible and in walking distance of the New Haven green. Got brussels sprouts and a large pizza. The brussels sprouts were cut and fried in a unique way I had never seen before but it was quite delicious. The pizza was also quite good although a little too much garlic for my tastes (and i love garlic)“

“Literally just left after having the best lunch! My fiancé and I are new to CT and we’ve been desperately trying to find a cool spot with great food. We got the miso and lime mussels and poutine with our beers and it was SO GOOD! Simple but delicious. The portions were huge. The service was great and the beer was even better! “Nestled away from North Main Street is this hidden gem of Italian food. Their marinara sauce is delicious and their portions are just right. It can be a little noisy but it's a good dinner spot for the area ( even if it may take a minute to find parking don't let that deter you.)Parking: Not a lot of parking but worth the effort.“

I needed to burn off some anxiety while waiting for my husband's surgery to finish, and one of the nurses was kind enough to give me some ideas on where to go. Naturally, I immediately got lost, but it resulted in my stumbling into this gem, so no complaints here.Pa's is set right beside the water with easy access to parking. They have an outdoor pickup window, patio seating and live music in the warmer months. The inside is small, but solid. The furniture is beautiful and sturdy. No wobbly tables at Pa's! There are some long seating options, too, so it would be easy to bring the whole family.The menu has a lot of options, which I love. I settled on Pa's Cubano with sweet potato fries and maaaaannnnn did it deliver. Salty, tangy, a little bit sweet, and the cruch factor was on point! The perfect combo if you ask me. The fries? BOMB. 10/10 will go back again. I can't wait to bring my husband there once he heals up!Live in or around Guildford? Visiting friends? Just on a vacation from life? “Great place. I’ll have to make it a point to work it into the calendar more. Beer was excellent. 24 different beers on tap I believe. Burger was great - big and delicious and my wife enjoyed her wrap. Bonus points for the King Diamond and Rob Halford photos on the wall. I didn’t get to check out all the prints. Cool spot. “Gayle, the owner of What's Cookin's, has carved a place among the very finest food for every palate. She has the most hard working staff, who create so well together. They provide a lovely room in which to dine, and the notable artwork on the walls, and propped up on the refridgertors make it interesting and anusing. The workers are exceptionally polite and engaging, if you want to, but will give you your space for dining quietly. I love going there, and I am pretty sure that you will too.“

“Their vegan options are plentiful, and every dish we had was delicious. We had the Vegan crab cakes, and the Vegan layer dip. The previous time we had the Vegan burger and Vegan tacos, which were delicious also. Staff are courteous and attentive. The view from the restaurant is nice, and the decor/atmosphere is spot on! “My visits have been quite frequent lately, as I have been impressed by the great atmosphere and the impeccable service provided by our server, Brianna. She is truly amazing - always pleasant and willing to make things right if they happen to be amiss. Moreover, the food at Homes is simply amazing! I highly recommend that you give it a try. They also offer a gluten-free menu, which is a great option for those with dietary restrictions. I believe you would enjoy dining at Homes as much as I have.“

“We just did take out and it was great! My husband had the salmon, I had the short ribs and we got an order of the hush puppies. Everything was hot and tasted great at home. We also had an order of the cheesecake egg rolls which were a great sweet treat. Definitely will be back!“

“This is one of the top three bars in New Haven. The owner takes pride in sourcing the most interesting and delicious wines. The ambience is mystical, intimate and charming, all at the same time and the music selection is always on point. “This was hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. My special guy's father is friend's with the owner & we brought family visiting from Italy for dinner. This was my first time trying the food, everything was delicious, portions huge. You can order larger, family style meals several days in advance & it's BYOB (love it). I was very surprised by everything as the outside along with the name of the restaurant doesn't remotely sound like an Italian restaurant. I would definitely take the ride just to eat here again.“

“We had a great time at this fantastic diner! We stopped in while at the flea market and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. I had the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time! They were huge and fluffy with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The very helpful and kind waitress made my delicious coffee perfectly. Others in our group ordered the grilled cheese with tomato, the hamburger platter, the steak burrito, the parmesan wings, and a bagel with cream cheese. It is a tough group to impress and they were all very happy! My husband wants to come back ASAP for more wings! Very friendly family owned diner that made us out of towners feel very welcomed!“

“We come here almost once a week with our two elementary schoolers. The staff is always kind, solicitous, and patient, even when one of our kids wants a number of "customizations" to her mac and cheese order. We always look to find a table near the one tv that isn't playing sports but rather is playing funny videos to keep our kids engaged so that the adults can catch up on our days. The cocktails are good and filled to the rim. And, we always appreciate the rotating specials menu so there is something new to try each time for the adults. Can't ask for much more in a go-to neighborhood restaurant.“
