“Here is another first visit for us, Hornets Nest Deli in Branford. While driving from East Haven through Branford we came upon the Hornets Nest Deli. The parking which is more than adequate was loaded with vehicles at 1:10P.M. thats a good sign for me. So we stopped in, first impression everyone knows everyone, lots of conversations going on very clean and lots of seating. Then you look over to the side wall and see the menu, yikes , many options available panini, sub, sandwiches and wraps, not to mention a very large choice of salads. we settled on splitting a #21 sub, grilled chicken with avocado, bacon lettuce and tomato with a balsamic vinaigrette. PERFECT, fresh bread chicken done just right a great sub. Great menu, great food, great service and a friendly staff, what more could you ask for.“
“The Service was awesome! I loved the staffs attention and care to its customers. My only issue was with their pizza recipe ( they needed to add yeast to the dough i think and less herbs in there sauce). There prices and everything else is great ! Store was clean and well organized.“

“Great "little store" for sandwiches and snacks. We tried the homemade chicken Parmesan sub and steak & cheese on a hard roll. Great bread with sesame seeds, very fresh and soft! Tasty sandwiches, made fresh by friendly, hard-working staff. Ate on their back patio table set up, which was nice. The only big disappointment is they only serve coke products and I hate them so I could only give 4 stars for no good beverage to go with my lunch. We will definitely be back when out this way again! I'll BMOB next time!“
“Best cold cut sandwiches in east haven. I been going to the deli since I was super young my grandparents lived on Gerrish Ave and we are now in the same house so The deli is definitely are go to store. Love Nam and Aum if u want an amazing cold cut sandwich this is your place you won’t be disappointed like stop n go where they put two pieces of meat. Not the deli though they load it up.“
“Local store since 1921. Lots of regulars here, but welcoming to all. The ladies behind the counter are super sweet! There is a nice covered patio for eating outside. The sandwiches are good - the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is a little lean so I'd suggest a double egg!“
“I definitely recommend Atticus Market! I had the mushroom sandwich which was so good. As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find good food of substance. This sandwich was well balanced and had good flavor! I also had a side of hash browns which are some of the best I’ve ever had - SO GOOD. My only complaint is that the store is cramped if there’s more than a handful inside.“

“I fill up my tank with gas there. Occasionally, I have purchased their baked goods. These are locally handmade and absolutely delicious. I've heard the sandwiches are excellent too. Since I usually just stop for gas, I haven't purchased any sandwiches. There's a whole kitchen in the back with professional cooks. Service is excellent.“

“This quaint and picturesque area has been my favorite place to relax usually after visiting my dentist in Branford but I never stepped in this establishment till yesterday. I tried pastrami reuben written on blackboard menu and was I surprised! It came out piping hot after about 5 minutes of prep time, perfectly grilled crunchy butter toasted delicious bread, succulent and juicy pastrami, sauer kraut done just right, and whatever dressing that complmented overall taste. I savored every bite of this amazing sandwich as I watched people walking and doing their thing by the dock.“
“I went here for lunch for the first time . I have always wanted to go but I have never been in the area for lunch time . It's a very cute Italian deli for take out. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and added fried peppers on a hard roll. This was amazing! Most places do not make eggplant right however, the sandwich was excellent. It was thin enough and enough breading and the sauce tasted great as well. I would definitely come back just for the eggplant. I also ordered the #6 fresh mozzarella with tomato and roasted peppers, pesto, balsamic and I added pickled eggplant. This tasted great as well. I got my husband a fried breaded flounder grinder. it comes with lettuce, tomato cheese and tartar sauce. He doesn't like tartar sauce, so I had mayo on it instead. He stated that the fish was fresh and tasted good however, it didn't have much flavor. He felt that he would want flavor in the breading in order to order it again. Overall, very happy with the lunch order and definitely would go back..“
“Went to Stellato's Deli today to grab lunch. Ended up ordering the 3.1 Panini, chicken was tender, thin sliced prosciutto with tomato, mozzarella and pesto. Great sandwich, full of great flavors , hit the spot. First time visit, will be back. Plenty of free parking in front of Deli.“
“Stopped by looking for a snack and man did Amanda deliver. I got the chicken bacon ranch on a grinder and a side of pasta salad. This is honestly one of the best CBR I’ve had.The chicken is super moist, coupled with heaps of crispy smoked bacon, which you can really taste. The ranch gives a creamy base layer that ties in the thick cuts of lettuce and tomatoes. This is all gift wrapped in a layer of cheddar cheese. The bread was crispy and held the insides of this sub together, without leaking through.I’ll be back to try the whole rest of the menu, you should too!“
