“Loved the cozy tavern feel with bare wood and wrought iron and fire place in the left dining room. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was fantastic! Definitely returning more in the future.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance and dining room all level with the ground, no stairs.“
“My Mother, and her friends, absolutely adore this place. And Dave, yes THE Dave, himself... is a great guy. Always willing to go the extra mile for his customers and friends.Recently, for my Mom's birthday, I had to accompany her here... much later than I wanted. And even tho I was tired and ready to go to bed, I saw how much the locals loved and respected my mom... even when she dropping her glass of chardonnay. After telling me loving stories about her, a woman and her husband looked at me and said, "If you wanna go back home, we will take care of your mom and get her home safe." Scottish Dave's Pub is essentially "CHEERS"... you wanna go where everyone knows your name.“
“LOVE this place. Love the nachos, and others at the table got margaritas and raved about them. Staff is friendly and helpful. Buffalo chicken wrap was also delicious. Come on Monday nights for trivia. Always a great time, but would prefer if the trivia could be read/handled faster, as we usually have to leave after round 2 or 3 of 5. It is way too long.“
“We love everything about this quaint welcoming tavern, especially when Carla makes the margaritas ;)The Ivoryton Tavern has charm, lots of history & the bathroom soap always smells wonderful!Highly recommended if you are in the area or attending a show across the street.“
“Had lunch here after kayaking and I could not love the ambiance more. There's an attached greenhouse that is such a cozy vibe I cannot wait to go back. Cute outdoor area w fire pit as well and I hear they have great karaoke. We got malt fries and they were a perfect start! Salty and malty and still crispy! I got raspberry jalapeño burger. Came with bacon, grilled jalapeños and strawberry jam. Burger was cooked perfectly on a toasty roll. Bacon was crispy and salty and put against spicy jalapeños and sweet raspberry jam there was nowhere to go but flavor town after one bite. We tried the malt salt wings and they were crispy and full of flavor too. Bartender was on his own and took a triple seating when we arrived and he handled it perfectly! Food was quick and hot and we didn't want for anything. A great find and we will def be back to try more of their huge burger menu“
“A home away from “home”. A necessity and lifesaver when visiting relatives and staying with them locally in this basically disgusting and rotten quirky, creative and Artsy community including many historic disgusting feeble minded vintage car collectors?☢️. Which unfortunately has more in common with similar communities out west or Marfa Tx or inner-state, and offers little else in comparison to Essex, Old Saybrook or Mystic which are steps away from coastal New England heaven like Greenwich or Darien. Typically I would stay is Essex, Old Saybrook when in the area which is a relatively more sober and refreshing environment but sometimes that is not an option.Pros; Comfortable riverside environment, Warm genuine service, Ice cold beer, cool jovial bar and excellent approachable comfort food always brings happiness even in critical or emergency situations.“
“Pub atmosphere, friendly staff, winter often not too busy, summers can be packed and noisy be sure to make a reservation. In warm months (if nice out) there is pleasant outdoor seating behind restaurant making it easier to get a table. Above average beer selection with many draft choices several from local breweries. QR code on drink menu puts an informative updated beer list on your smart phone.“
