“I won't let this take away from my rating, but there was a miscommunication that left me waiting twenty minutes to be served as a single diner, and there was an innocent little beetle on the table. Otherwise, the servers and owners were very sociable and friendly, and the food was great.“

If your looking for a great hamburger I recommend the smash burger that's been a special this month. it's like a big Mac but made with fresh ingredients and is so much more elevated. “This is my favorite restaurant in town. I’ve been here several times for both dine-in and takeout. The food is fresh and delicious. I love that they use local ingredients and I love that the takeout does not include plastic containers, plastic cutlery, or plastic bags. I also like that the menu changes up from time to time. “The kind of restaurant I'll remember as a "must-go" for years to come anytime I'm in the area. I started with the peasant bread, and that alone would have made the visit worthwhile. The beet salad, grilled salmon, and homemade ravioli were uniquely flavorful and fresh too. Between the classy and casual ambiance, the fresh food, and the top-notch service/ hospitality, West Street Grill delivered in every way imaginable and blew past all expectations. The staff are so passionate about their craft, and went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible dining experience. The entire staff and owner couldn't have been more welcoming. “Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons. Food is a notch up from usual bar/tavern fare as orders are prepared individually on a grill behind the bar. Have had numerous burgers and they are quite juicy while prepared as ordered. Fries are crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. My wife says the crispy chicken sandwich is the best she's ever had! Oh, the beer selection is adequate and cold. What more do you want? Torrington's version of CHEERS!“

“We stopped in for late lunch/early dinner after scoring a walk in at the Smash Room across the street. We did not have reservations, but it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. The hostess was extremely pleasant and helpful. We thought the atmosphere was very inviting, casual and a bit of a throwback.Our server, Scout, was excellent. He provided specialty drink, beer, and food suggestions for those in our party needing some help deciding.The menu is basically tavern fare. The lunch menu is an eclectic mix of pizza, handhelds, salads, and a few entrees. The dinner menu adds more entree choices. Our group had the cauliflower app, drinks, handhelds and salads, which we found all to be very good.Parking: At busier times I can see that the size of the parking can become problematic. Street parking is extremely limited due to the odd intersection location and number of nearby commercial businesses.“

“The food was absolutely delicious ? the service could have been a bit better in terms of friendliness and attentiveness. No issue on my end with the time it took to get my food as it was being cooked in the back so it came out hot & good. They have somewhat of a bar and although I didn't have anything besides water/soda to drink the drinks I saw being made looked very tasty and refreshing. I will definitely be circling back to try some other items. I had the beef turnover, steak rice bowl, oxtails (to go), and my friend had the pork chop of course rice and beans. The portion sizes were filling couldn't eat it all in one sitting. If you're thinking of trying I recommend you do. Enjoy...“

“Sunset Grille hosted our baby shower of around 60 guests and they did an amazing job. The food was fantastic, the venue was beautiful, and Kathy did a wonderful job planning the event. “Been in the bar previously, but this time ate in the restaurant (cellblock). Service was attentive, menu is casual and food is very good. Sales were fresh and crisp with generous portions of chicken added. Marketplace I'd very comfortable and seemed to draw many locals and families.“

“Went out to dinner here on Friday night. The parking lot was packed. And I know why. This is an old style Italian restaurant. Not fancy but absolutely delicious. I had chicken cacciatore. My wife had a bowl of pasta. My friends had the seafood dishes.the seafood dishes were outstanding. The owner came to our table. They were very friendly. Prices were reasonable, not inexpensive, but not extravagant either. I will definitely come back.“

“My family and I decided to eat here for my daughter’s birthday lunch. We had Jake as our server and he was fantastic! So personable and always had a smile on his face. My mom has some dietary restrictions and he was quick to suggest something from the menu that she ended up loving. We usually visit the Southbury location but will be coming to the Middlebury location from now on and asking for Jake every time. The food is always good and with such an extensive menu, there is something for everyone! We will be back!“
