“Food & service have been nothing short of TOP TIER at Sol Café. In my humble opinion, one of the most underrated and deliciously curated Latino restaurants in all of Connecticut! I mean that whole heartedly and this place has continued to exceed my expectations. I’ve been a customer for almost 2 years, and I can’t be any more satisfied with my experiences throughout my time here! Cheers to many years to come!?“
“Great place, definitely like your 2nd Home with the couches, fireplace and games. Would totally visit again, unfortunately not close to my 1st home. Great food with many options, only marked down because of nothing traditional on the menu which is good and bad. Can't always do the same burger and fries kind of thing.“
“One of the better dining experiences that can be had in Connecticut. Michelin star quality without the price. The staff is extremely personable and makes you feel as if you are the only person in the restaurant. They are very knowledgeable about the menu. The presentation and taste of the food is exceptional. The food is farm to table with fresh ingredients. The dining room is dimly lit and intimate. The experience has been consistent the 5 times that I have visited.“
“I love going here with my family several times. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very nice and staff is very kind and friendly.I also love the artwork and carvings throughout the restaurant.I would love to see them close on Sunday orMonday, so the restaurant and all of the people can get a rest as they are working very hard. Can’t wait to go back.“
“What a WONDERFUL little throw-back of a diner! The servers are absolutely charming (thank you to the beautiful, jewelry-making Christina), pricing is circa 1995, there's a great children's menu -- and there is clearly some skill in this kitchen, generally. I love that you get unlimited refills on coffee ($2), which was actually quite decent by diner standards. Where else can you find that nowadays?! Eggs were well prepared and fluffy across the board. I loved that my veggie omelet ($8.75) came generously filled with sauteed mushrooms, sweet peppers, and onions. It came with toast and a side of either fruit or home fries. The multigrain, which our server disclosed was from a bakery in NY, was fresh, well slathered with butter, and far better than it had to be as a non-headline component of the meal. Home fries were beautifully seasoned, though I do prefer mine a little more browned. Fruit salad on our visit included a slice of melon, a few grapes and a slice of orange. Our eight year old got a children's meal with one egg, home fries, toast and juice ($4.50). She enjoyed her fluffy scrambled eggs, which she ate sandwiched between two halves of a generously buttered English muffin. My only nitpick: You could taste a touch of margarine in the eggs, which I personally detest. Still, the food was head and shoulders better than (and half as expensive as) anything you can find at Mohawk Mountain, where we are usually resigned to grub. We are so, so thrilled to find this sweet little place a hop and a skip away from the mountain. It's a perfect place to refuel after early morning ski practice!“
“The kind of restaurant I'll remember as a "must-go" for years to come anytime I'm in the area. I started with the peasant bread, and that alone would have made the visit worthwhile. The beet salad, grilled salmon, and homemade ravioli were uniquely flavorful and fresh too. Between the classy and casual ambiance, the fresh food, and the top-notch service/ hospitality, West Street Grill delivered in every way imaginable and blew past all expectations. The staff are so passionate about their craft, and went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible dining experience. The entire staff and owner couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm confident this restaurant will host memorable meals and special moments for years to come. 10/10 recommend- I can't wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely meal!“
“We had an incredible stay at Winvian! We were in the Beaver Cottage which was a rustic but luxurious cabin. We enjoyed the food at Maggie's Tavern, Winvian Farm Restaurant and participated in a stained glass making class and had s'mores after dinner one night. Their spa services are top notch and have couples massages in a room with a fireplace and champagne afterwards. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful with Anthony, Christina, and Rachel being particular standouts. We look forward to returning!“
“There aren't enough words to explain how special a place Winvian Farm is. The staff takes customer service and attention to detail to an entirely different level. It's most definitely a high-end resort, but you're not made to feel anything but welcomed and at home. They made this very special birthday celebration a lifetime memory, and we are so very grateful for their efforts.Rooms: We stayed in the helicopter cottage and can't explain how unique an experience it was! The steam shower!! Oh my goodness the steam shower! And the views!! I can only image how stunning it must be in the spring and fall!Food & drinks: Gourmet dining at its finest with a great wine list to match!!Noteworthy details: Spotless property with high attention to customer service and satisfaction. Quiet... cozy... perfect.“
“We had an overall awesome experience. The “plain jane” mac and cheese was so cheesy, a big portion and I loved the bread crumbs. My fiancé got the Mac Daddy burger which has pulled pork and mac and cheese on it, he loved it. What really made it such a good experience was our waitress. I have never had such an attentive, polite, and friendly waitress before. The moment we finished our glass of soda she was there asking if we would like a refill. We just moved here and some of our experiences with the local restaurants were really lack luster, so we’re so happy we found a place that we would return to. Thank you!!“
“One of our favorite places to go hands down! Creative chef Red who keeps things interesting, menu changes for seasons and fantastic wait staff, educated on the food as to what to recommend, bartenders that make a perfect martini… wish we found out about this place years ago, since we didn’t, happy to support for many years to come!“
“It has been quite awhile since our last visit to the Village restaurant, nothing has changed to our delight! Great Service, Good food and my favorite Fried Oysters is as good as I remembered. Such a wonderful meal in a charming pub setting in a beautiful town of Litchfield.“
“Been in the bar previously, but this time ate in the restaurant (cellblock). Service was attentive, menu is casual and food is very good. Sales were fresh and crisp with generous portions of chicken added. Marketplace I'd very comfortable and seemed to draw many locals and families.“
“A friend and I decided to try the Mockingbird on a Tuesday Evening . We had to wait for a seat at the bar. But when our appetizers arrived it was worth the wait . The pork dumplings were handmade and bursting with flavor, the sweet and sour Sauce was perfect, and the Heirloom tomato Burrata couldn’t have been fresher and sweeter , the creamy Burrata, and fresh herbs put it over the top. Our Tacos were delicious , the tacos Al Pastor was tender and flavorful, and the Baja fish tacos had a tasty Beer battered Cod. , the Chef/Owner and the Bartender could have used a Waitress.“
“Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons. Food is a notch up from usual bar/tavern fare as orders are prepared individually on a grill behind the bar. Have had numerous burgers and they are quite juicy while prepared as ordered. Fries are crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. My wife says the crispy chicken sandwich is the best she's ever had! Oh, the beer selection is adequate and cold. What more do you want? Torrington's version of CHEERS!“
