Service was friendly and attentive. The inside is nice and looks recently Renovated. We found the prices to be very fair. He had a burger and I had a steak salad which was huge with a lot of tasty steak and huge chunks of blue cheese. We will return.“

“I’ve always loved wood n tap for many reasons & recently they added another reason to that list. A couple of days ago I had ordered a steak salad & sweet potato fries from them through Uber eats while I was at work. When it was delivered to me, the restaurant had accidentally given me someone else’s order, so I called them & explained what had happened. They offered to remake my food & I could come pick it up at no extra cost, but the only thing was that I wasn’t able to come pick it up because I was at work. When I told them this, a worker spoke with a manager & they offered to have someone from the restaurant deliver it to me! This was so kind & they also ended up including a free app coupon, gift certificate & two cookies. They went above & beyond, I highly recommend wood n tap to anyone who enjoys great drinks, food & service!!“

“We enjoy coming here on our date night. The wait staff are always friendly and efficient. We like the popcorn they serve as a free appetizer. . . wish it was a bit more buttery. Our favorite dishes are the Chicken Pot pie and fried & stuffed shrimp. Their baked potato is cooked/made perfectly. I even eat the skin ! They don't salt it at all like other restaurants do.Parking: Right near restaurant including separate takeout parking where employees bring your order to your car.“

“I wanted to visit my ex coworker Zach @ J Gilberts and maybe get a Burger cuz that's what I had my only time there and its one of the best burgers I've ever had. Plus I didnt want to go too crazy. But when I got there Zach told me about the 16Oz Dry Aged Kansas City Strip Steak Special that they had. I decided to go all out cuz I wantedto see if their steaks measured up to their reputation. Zach recommended a Pinot Noir from Washington that was a perfect pairing for the steak. I gotta say the green beans that I had with a jam and crumbled pecans were insanely good with the garlic mashed potatoes. AND the steak had a nice charred exterior with a perfect juicy medium rare interior. I decided to treat myself and if you are ever thinking of doing the same go to J Gilberts and ask for Zach....you won't be disappointed....you will have one of your best restaurant experiences of your life!“
“Solid food and great atmosphere. The fish really was cooked beautifully and the staff was top notch. Yummy fish and chips.Today we had a couple of apps and they were quite tasty. Calamari was really solid and my buddy got the Buffalo shrimp. They had a special swordfish entree with Lobster risotto and it was really quite tasty. Solid work per usual.Delicious clam soup and salmon dish. The spetzel (sp) was fun and unexpected. Also decent pours for your gin on the rocks. Bombay would be proud. We were warmly greeted by one of the waitresses, and both she and the other waitress, who I believe is one of the owners, were so friendly and attentive while we were there. Our food came out quickly and it was both fresh and delicious. The corned beef hash is outstanding! We both thoroughly enjoyed our experience this morning, and it’s a place our family will visit time and time again.“
“My boyfriend and I ate here tonight 3/14/24 and our server was Victoria. She was very polite the entire time. However, she forgot about my boyfriend’s beer. She was also talking and flirting with a man right behind where we were seated for most of our dinner. They were flirting the whole time, and the man was touching her in which I consider to be an inappropriate fashion. It was not the kind of sight you need to see at dinner and was gross. It took her a while to realize she forgot the beer because she was talking to this person the entire time rather than waiting on us. I recognize that this is not the fault of the establishment. I just feel as though our dinner experience was uncomfortable and feel the need to voice my concerns. We will be back! We love this place. Service could have been better.“

All were so flavorful... amazing!! The pizza was perfectly cooked in their brick oven!The Chefs definitely used the freshest ingredients!Our main meals included mushroom risotto and fish and chips! Again, the fish was fresh, flaky and crispy! The risotto was so flavorful!!Although we were quite satisfied, we still made room for dessert... an amazing carrot cake!!The best part of the experience, for me, was that they were able to accommodate my gluten free requests!! Our friendly Server took extra care in explaining which menu items were gluten free (there were several options... including DESSERT!!) and clearly the Chefs took extra care in preparing my meal!! “Ok, so that was delicious.I saw the ad on that big ol' book of faces for a lobster roll meal priced at $17. Right on rt6 in Andover. Hey, I know that place. I must've driven by 1000 times. They've been there for decades, right? Needless to say, my interest was piqued. 17 bucks is pretty inexpensive for a ct lobster roll. So, pointed the trusty Accord east. Within minutes, i was there & within minutes after that I held in my hands a buttery, velvety rich delicious CT-Style Lobster Roll. A buttery grilled hot dog bun, topped with what looked like half a lobster; one claw, about a half-tail meat & smaller, more delicate picked buttery meats. The whole thing was doused in more clarified butter. Did I mention it was buttery?...soooo buttery. To cut the richness, the roll is accompanied by a small plastic ramekin of rather non-descript, yet perfectly adequate creamy mildly sweet/vinegary cole slaw & a small bag of Lay's original Potato chips. This is a pretty decent lunch-time meal for about the same price as.the so-called birthday meal at that large McCorporate place. The price on that was absurd & really made me Grimace. ... Not Tom's Place, though! Sat under some nice shady trees at the provided picnic tables next to a place where Rochambeau used to hang out. I enjoyed good eats at a classic roadside stand. Highly recommend.Parking: plenty of room for r/v or rig.“

Once we walked inside we saw that there were a few tables open and we were seated immediately. The waitress and hostess were so friendly and kind. The menu had lots of delicious options but I went with a class brunch meal of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and bread. The food arrived shortly after and it was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. I'm excited to go back and try more food on their menu!P.S. “An absolute gem on the main drag in Manchester (not the mall area!) We came in at 5:30 on a Friday and we’re greeted right away. The drinks we tried were both fantastic. We ordered the Brussels sprouts app (my wife loves them, me not so much) and ended up cleaning that plate. We both did salads for dinner. Steak for the wife and I grabbed the cheeseburger salad and some wedge fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Dinner for two with an app and two drinks was priced well. The server was polite and timed her table visits just right. Don’t sleep on this one.“

“Manchester is my home town but I live 2000 miles away, but e when I return home I try to hit Shady Glen. SG is renown for its cheeseburgers and ice cream. Those are completely great choices, for sure, but I go down-menu for a scallop platter or whole belly clams. I get their fries and Cole slaw whenever I can. My mom accompanied me this trip, and just ordered French fries and Cole slaw, with a half-gallon of chocolate chip ice cream. I can't argue with those selections. Perfect. I got a hot fudge sundae with mint chocolate chip, scratching a childhood era itch. I love this place.“

“This was my first visit to Chuck Wagon. Everyone says it's a great breakfast spot and everyone is correct. When I walked in, I immediately knew breakfast was going to be good. It has that great breakfast vibe. There are booths, tables and a counter with stools for seating. We sat ourselves at a table and were immediately greeted, given menus and asked if we wanted a coffee or something else to drink. The waitresses are all "seniors" and fit the breakfast waitress stereotype to the T. The tables and coffee cups have local advertising on them. So great. The breakfast menu is extensive, with eggs, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches and combination plates. There's something for everyone. I am celiac. The waitress understood immediately and offered GF bread or toast. I had a Reuben omelet with the GF toast and a side of bacon. The GF toast is toasted in the same toaster as the regular bread but that doesn't affect me so I had the toast. It came buttered and the little jelly packets are on each table. It was GREAT. The bacon was crisp and thick. Very good. The omelette was large and well stocked with corned beef, cheese, sauerkraut and dressing. Excellent. My daughter had French toast with strawberries. The French toast was thick and well cooked. The strawberries were previously frozen but still very good. She also had a breakfast sandwich which was cooked perfectly and delicious as well. She also got a chocolate milk which was very chocolatey and large! The waitress came by multiple times to refill my coffee which is one of my checkpoints for a good breakfast spot. My coffee should always be full and hot during breakfast, and it was! If you're in Ellington , you need to check out the Chuck Wagon. It's a winner.“

Lots of varieties; meats; veggies; pasta; salads; fruit; sides and desserts. Mimosas; champagne and Bloody Mary's were great. Plenty of parking and fast seating. The hostess allowed us to choose any available table. Our Waiter (Junior) was attentive; fast; accurate; professional and funny?. I noticed the Wait staff and Hostess were dressed in uniformity; wearing white shirts and black slacks. HOWEVER; I could not believe my eyes ? when I saw the 2 guys at the carving and omelette station. They were wearing "street" clothes (sweats) and beanies on their heads. They were not dressed in uniforms; or at least wearing aprons and matching caps or a hair net. Thank God they had on gloves. Totally; totally unprofessional and unsanitary. Everything was good up until seeing that; very disappointing.“

“This is a great spot to meet friends but I do miss the couches on the patio where I used to sit and read in the summer. Their drinks menu is always updated. Got the Chocolate Pecan Martini and my friend got the Sweetheart Martini which has White Chocolate liqueur, Rumchata and Grenadine for the pink color. Both were delicious. My friend ordered the Pear Salad but substituted feta for the Gorgonzola and added chicken. I got the risotto special which came with poached salmon, which I exchanged for grilled salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I usually bring part of my entree home but the risotto was so good and the right size, so I just finished it off! If you are debating what to order, definitely go for the short rib entree - the perfect comfort food over mashed potatoes! I love the cozy couches inside and the dark lighting which gives a very intimate feel. I would love to sit at the bar or the kitchen bar sometime, but have sat in the side dining room, the main dining room and patio at various times. All great spots, although the main dining area was a little chilly by the door one visit and the hostess kindly moved us to an interior table. The lighting in the newer dining area is brighter if that matters to you.“

One sat us, playing with her long hair, and the other one went around checking each table to see if we were doing ok. All the other servers, sitters, bar tenders, and bus people did their hair back. These two need to be watched. I'm pretty sure in some states it's part of a law. I would like you to speak to them. Everything else was fine. We went back there again in the middle of September of 2021, this time we got a better service. We are back in November of 2022 and service is much better. In March 2024 is all good“
