“We were blown away by the exceptional service. The level of professionalism was refreshing. The staff could have been trained at Downton Abby! We have found the gold standard to which all servers should be compared. The food was simply amazing. My Mole Pork Chop was tender and juicy with an unexpected, and greatly appreciated, subtle crisp on the outside. We will be back, w/ friends!!“

“So I just wanted to update a previous review. We had been to the Whitehorse approximately four years ago and had a negative experience. We have been back since and the quality of food is much more flavorful less salty less fatty. The staff was helpful kind. And the ambience was fantastic. They sat us right in front of the fireplace. It was for my birthday dinner and I really enjoyed the entire setting. We were comfortable the entire time and everyone was kind. We have also since been back at a larger family with my in-laws, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, etc. and had a brunch that was fantastic.“

The presentation and taste of the food is exceptional. The food is farm to table with fresh ingredients. The dining room is dimly lit and intimate. “The kind of restaurant I'll remember as a "must-go" for years to come anytime I'm in the area. I started with the peasant bread, and that alone would have made the visit worthwhile. The beet salad, grilled salmon, and homemade ravioli were uniquely flavorful and fresh too. Between the classy and casual ambiance, the fresh food, and the top-notch service/ hospitality, West Street Grill delivered in every way imaginable and blew past all expectations. The staff are so passionate about their craft, and went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible dining experience. The entire staff and owner couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm confident this restaurant will host memorable meals and special moments for years to come. 10/10 recommend- I can't wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely meal!“

“I will start by saying that 4 stars is being just a tiny bit generous. My meal was more like a 3.5. First - it's cash only so keep that in mind prior to stopping in. I went in alone - I was shopping in the area but not from town. Rachel's had pretty great reviews and I was really excited about it. Even though it was lunchtime - I decided on the Irish Benny. I looked at the menu for a while. There was nothing truly inspiring on it. I was tossing and turning trying to decide - I was a bit nervous ordering the hash because it didn't say 'homemade' on the menu. I finally asked and was sold on the Irish Benny when I found out the hash wasn't coming out of the can (not that I don't love that from time to time). It was served with a rather small (but fine for me!) serving of home fries. I did ask for them well done but many of them can out burnt. The bread that the Benny was served on was too thick. It was super tough to cut through. I believe it was grilled on the griddle and was overcharrred leaving it with an odd taste. The eggs on top may have been poached but there was barely a runny yolk so it was hard to tell. There was too little hollandaise. Overall - it was all just a bit flat for me. The do squeeze their own lemonade which was refreshing and delicious! The vibe is cute - rustic and cozy. My waiter was nice - attentive and engaging without over doing it.“

5-Diamond Restaurant at Winvian Farm Fine Dining
155 Alain White Rd, Morris - 7.26 miles

“We had an incredible stay at Winvian! We were in the Beaver Cottage which was a rustic but luxurious cabin. We enjoyed the food at Maggie's Tavern, Winvian Farm Restaurant and participated in a stained glass making class and had s'mores after dinner one night. Their spa services are top notch and have couples massages in a room with a fireplace and champagne afterwards. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful with Anthony, Christina, and Rachel being particular standouts. We look forward to returning!“

“Clean, open, and fun place for dinner. I love that they give you complimentary bread and they had some fun drink specials for St. Patrick's day. The nachos were definitely loaded. “Loved the flavor and cook of the Thai chili wings. We did not choose a protein for our nachos as it was over $7 depending on the type of meat. While the nachos were definitely cheesy.... That's kinda all they were. Lacked the typical veggie toppings. About 5 large jalapeños, a few red onions, and a few tomatoes hidden. We were very impressed with our cranberry walnut salad! I could be wrong but I thought they were supposed to be candied walnuts but they tasted plain. We will definitely go back as we had kind and quick service!“

“Hudson’s is a gem of a restaurant located in the Heritage Village section of Southbury. It’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and each of these seating times offer yummy and satisfying selections. If you don’t see exactly what you’re craving, ask the owner/chef Roy and if he has the ingredients, he always try to accommodate (he has so many times for me). He will even throw out ideas he can whip up for you, many coming out of the seafood market he also owns, which is the freshest around (I am primarily pescatarian so I know the quality is excellent).I eat here often and am never disappointed. The owner/chef is amazing at his craft. I could never stress enough how amazing a chef Roy is. Last night, I brought the burrata salad, french onion soup, grilled cheese, a rueben and the chicken pesto panini to a friend’s house and we feasted and incredibly happy! Tonight I will be back for an amazing seafood dinner and a bottle of wine. Yes…. It’s that good that I can go multiple days in a row.Give Hudson’s a try. Your happiness and satisfaction is the chef’s!Dietary restrictions: Offers glutenfree/ gluten friendly options and can adjust many items for this. I am glutenfree and love to have nany diverse choices!“

“A friend and I decided to try the Mockingbird on a Tuesday Evening . We had to wait for a seat at the bar. But when our appetizers arrived it was worth the wait . The pork dumplings were handmade and bursting with flavor, the sweet and sour Sauce was perfect, and the Heirloom tomato Burrata couldn’t have been fresher and sweeter , the creamy Burrata, and fresh herbs put it over the top. Our Tacos were delicious , the tacos Al Pastor was tender and flavorful, and the Baja fish tacos had a tasty Beer battered Cod. , the Chef/Owner and the Bartender could have used a Waitress.“
