Umaya is well located for visits to the American Art and National Portrait Gallery Museums nearby and the Gallery Place Metro stop. The Japanese menu is extensive and includes Appetisers, Sushi, Donburi, Noodle, and Ramen dishes. We split a Mango Tango Sushi as a starter. Food is decent but I was a bit underwhelmed by the noodles in my vegetarian ramen. They were a bit rubbery but there were different from my friends, which seemed a bit better. We also tried the vegetable croquette which was pretty decent.

The food was pretty good. We went in there with a big party and asked them if they could split up the checks when we arrived. We were told that it would be fine. Fast forward to the end, they tried to give us one huge check. It then took over an hour to sort it out. The manager was reluctant to work with us. We never would have eaten there if they said they could split up the checks for the beginning.Bottom line. The food is pretty good. The prices are a little high.
