I hadn't had foie gras before, so I thought it was pretty cool that I could try it at a place that wasn't a high-end French restaurant. It was pretty good! I enjoyed all of the food there. “The bartenders there serve people that are obviously visibly drunk and falling off their stools! When I brought it up to the bartender, she said I misread the situation and it was none of my business! So, I went to the manager and she repeated pretty much the same statement like it was scripted because it continuously happens! I wonder if the owners are aware of these actions because honestly the bartender and manager should be fired for those kind of attitudes as it's illegal to serve visibly impaired patrons at a bar! Sad! 🤔😔 I actually have to add, it's a shame that the staff isn't the best, because the concept is great, the events are fun and our group which usually numbers 10 to 15 people enjoy hanging out there for the events and the food which is reasonable and pretty good! 💝😎👍”

“This was our first time visiting Hummingbird to Mars. We had heard from friends prior to going about how the place was set up. Our expectations were in line with how the restaurant runs. As a speakeasy, the focus is on the cocktails, which are made painstakingly by hand. Their preparation is true to historic standards and no detail is overlooked. The time it takes to receive your drinks might be a little longer than a traditional bar, but they are WELL WORTH IT.
Regarding the ambience, the location mimics the experience one might have had 100 years ago during prohibition. Upon arrival, you ring a doorbell at an otherwise nondescript entryway where you are greeted by friendly staff who will escort you up a flight of candlelit stairs to your table. The location can accommodate a few dozen people so making reservations would be prudent.
Once seated, you’ll be given an extensive drink menu from which you’ll certainly find a customized cocktail that will suit your taste. Our server was knowledgeable about the cocktails and helped us make educated choices with respect to food and drinks.
Considering we went in December, an excellent Jazz trio literally drummed up the background music…jazz interpretations of Christmas classics, which everyone enjoyed.
In a world of bland restaurant chains, this place stands out like a gem. You will not be disappointed.”

I had the drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mao) and my hubby and the chicken red curry. We also split the spring rolls. Everything was delicious and the portions were large. I ordered my noodles spicy level “hot” and they did not disappoint! My hubby is very picky about spring rolls (well, food in general) and said they were the best he’s ever had. I had the Cabernet and he had the Pino Noir .Both wines were rich and savory. Very tasty. The floor manager even came up to make sure we were happy. That was very nice. we received the check and the server boxed up our food for us. The check really was not expensive. I paid and gave a 25% tip. “There are many Asian buffets these days and while there are some top-of-the line buffets, there's plenty more than are good and there are of course some that are rough because the food isn't rotated to keep fresh food on the buffet. This buffet though is pleasantly good and it has a nice atmosphere.
I like that the buffet's atmosphere is very well done with good decor and not feeling like a generic restaurant. The service is also good and for the most part well done for a buffet as well.
The food is what you mostly expect for an Asian buffet with a mix of Chinese dishes, sushi, a Mongolian-style grill and American buffet fare. The sushi is one of the better offerings I've seen in an Asian buffet; the fish was fresh when I was there and they had an actually good variety of different maki rolls and nigiri. The Mongolian grill has some good choices and the chef does a good job cooking the food up. I did wish they had a better selection of difference sauces to tailor your dish, but what they have works. The Chinese dishes are also pretty good with the normal variety of Amero-Chinese entrees and the fruit when I visit was reasonably fresh.
Overall, this buffet has very tasty options for food and a good variety of dishes as well. For a local, this is a good buffet to visit. But not quite one I'd go out of my way to visit.”

“I was NOT disappointed! I decided to come here for a Saturday lunch after scrolling through the options in Wilmington. I was able to find parking on the street easily. I walked in, sat at the bar right away and was quickly greeted with a friendly bartender. I was super excited to see that they have Leinie’s on tap! As a Wisconsin native I couldn’t pass up the Leinie’s Juicy Peach sour. It was a great and refreshing drink. I also enjoyed the French Onion Soup. It came out piping hot and was perfect. It was excellent. The gyro was simple, tasty, the pita bread was so fresh and soft, everything on this gyro was seasoned perfectly. The pasta salad was delightful just the right amount of zing, with a little tart taste thrown in. The baklava was not overly sweet, just enough nutty taste with som great flaky, light taste from the Phyllo dough. If I am ever in the neighborhood again, I would jump at the chance to grab some eats here. You should too, I don't think you'll be disappointed!”
