“I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.”

“We ate at the chefs counter and had the “off the menu” omakase which included an appetizer, a selection of nigiri, miso soup and a dessert. There’s no official sake pairing but the chef does give a recommendation. We love omakase and have it regularly. Chef Tomo is a delight and truly passionate about his menu. The nigiri was very fresh and was not served “plain”, but was topped with various ingredients or flame broiled. This gave some new flavors we had not been exposed to, some may say this is less traditional. However, it was delicious. The appetizer was so good, topped with uni, need I say more. The food and chef counter vibe were 5 stars no doubt. The front of house leaves a lot to be desired. They were on their phones most of the time, had no clue what sake was on the menu or what to recommend, unable to name the fish, weren’t working in a way that seems “high end” or with superior service, in fact they don’t seem to care about this job or restaurant at all which is sad since they are essentially the face of the place. There’s so much potential here.”

I was skeptical about this place however that quickly change once me and my husband started to eat here. The food is cooked to order and to perfection. I like how they don't season giving you the chance to season your own food. It is a small but big store not only a convent store but fresh food and smoke shop all in one. The workers that I have had interactions with are very professional they customer service is right where it should be. Don't get me wrong I know you get those few that you just wanna snap on. “Old Days has been a consistently good spot, but I’ve noticed a slight decline in food quality over my last few visits. The first two times I went, everything was excellent easily a five-star experience. However, the last two visits felt a bit different, and I suspect they may have a new chef. The drinks are still phenomenal, which is a major plus, but the food has changed slightly.

For example, the beef short rib was still very good, but I preferred the previous version with the rich gravy rather than the jus it now comes with. The latte was solid, no complaints there. Overall, I’d rate it a strong four across the board. I’ll definitely be back, but I do hope they bring back some of the flavors that originally made this place stand out.”

“Zak had been on my list since day one of my trip to Miami, and I finally made it there for brunch. The wait time was about 30 minutes, so I opted for a to-go order. Here’s what I tried:
• Avocado Toast: A well-curated dish. The thinly sliced onions, lime, and paprika dressing were a perfect combination.
• Tomato Bisque & Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Easily the best I’ve ever had. The sandwich was perfectly crisp, and the tomato dip elevated the flavors even further. I savored every bite.
• Mushroom Toast: This one didn’t hit the mark for me. The pairing of the bread with the mushrooms felt off, and the mushroom topping was excessively oily. The cheese didn’t complement the dish either. While it wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t for me.
• Mango Cheesecake: Inspired by seeing others order it, I decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did. Every bite was delightful. The star fruit garnish was a pleasant surprise, adding a unique and delicious touch.

The ambience is bustling yet inviting, and the service was impressively quick. I also appreciated the eco-friendly packaging.

Finally, the Matcha Latte was a solid choice.

“It is a restaurant renowned as the best for Cuban food and as such you have to wait to be served. I went at 1:30 pm and waited around 25 min. There were quite a few people waiting to enter. Internally it is a large dining room, very familiar. Elegant lamps and vintage decoration. The waiters are very attentive and friendly. However, when they brought the food, they literally placed the plates as they will be.
I ordered the typical and most requested, meat with potatoes. An exquisite stew.
To drink, I ordered a cocktail with guava and alcohol, a little strong, but very tasty. And of course I ordered the Cuban coffee.

It was worth the wait.”

From the moment I first considered having it at Il Bambino until the end of the party José was there to guide and help me with all the details. He helped me select three choices to offer as appetizers and as the main entrée based on their most popular dishes, showed me some "party menus" previously prepared in other events to give me some ideas, and made recommendations as to what would be more cost efficient regarding the beverages. In sum, José took care of everything before and during the party and made this an easy and enjoyable celebration for all. Our guests were very pleased with the food, the service and the atmosphere. Kudos to José and Il Bambino.”

“We had lunch at Felice in Brickell today and it was AMAZING. We drove from Fort Lauderdale and its location is so easy to reach from I-95 and we loved the valet parking so prompt. The restaurant has a wonderful outside dining area, made private by luscious plants, fans, heaters, modern furniture and decor, but we opted to dine inside due to the bad weather. The dining room is quite elegant but contemporary, the tablecloths and silverware on point, which is important for us. The overall service quality was superb, from hostess Manuela's warm reception, to Flavio the manager's exquisite charm, to the skilled waiter's attentiveness, and we even got to meet Chef Luigi to compliment him on each of the dishes we enjoyed. Most importantly, everyone was really Italian and spoke Italian, which was so refreshing, since we are also Italian from the actual Country ! We loved the refined ambiance and relaxed atmosphere which made the authentic Northern Italian dishes taste even better ! Food and drink wise: the Mojito we started with was most delicious ! A Bubbly Prosecco DOC was our choice to enjoy the meal. For appetizers we had Tuna Carpaccio with capers, but it was as fancy as a Tuna Tartar, and scrumptious shrimps in pink sauce with a touch of Jalapeno. For the entrees, we went with the New York strip with Truffle and Mushroom which came inside a fancy copper pan; we were impressed by the very generous portion boasting an aroma and flavor we hardly tasted anywhere else other than Italy, and a classic Branzino al Cartoccio, which came inside the actual "cartoccio" it was baked within, and its freshness and flavor were amazing. Side dishes were delicious too: we ordered char-grilled asparagus and the best home made French Fries EVER! All the food was "clean", fresh, cooked to perfection, with no heavy sauce or seasoning covering/altering the actual flavor of the main ingredients like most "Italian" restaurants do here in Sfla. We appreciated that immensely! We "tried" to end with a nice espresso only.....but they insisted we had a bite of their Tiramisu dessert and we obliged. Obviously, it was delicious too. Hence, as far as REAL Italian restaurants in South Florida are concerned, we recommend this place wholeheartedly, and we will be back very soon to taste more of their dishes. OVERALL : 10 STARS!!!!!”

“It is a restaurant renowned as the best for Cuban food and as such you have to wait to be served. I went at 1:30 pm and waited around 25 min. There were quite a few people waiting to enter. Internally it is a large dining room, very familiar. Elegant lamps and vintage decoration. The waiters are very attentive and friendly. However, when they brought the food, they literally placed the plates as they will be.
I ordered the typical and most requested, meat with potatoes. An exquisite stew.
To drink, I ordered a cocktail with guava and alcohol, a little strong, but very tasty. And of course I ordered the Cuban coffee.

“I read all the reviews before going, so I could be prepared. Let me start by saying, if you enjoy fine dining frequently, my review isn't for you. If this experience is a treat for you, read on.

The food was a 10/10. We got the scallops (omg amazing), beef wellington (equally amazing) and salmon (could have been better, not the best I've had). Everything, except thr salmon, was the best food I've ever had.

The staff is on point. Constantly checking in, but not enough to be annoying. My water was always full, food came promptly and even though it was put in at the same time, appetizer and main fish came at different times. I was impressed with the level of attention they showed from clearing our dishes immediately, someone else coming and wiping thr table down immediately after, to the genuine feeling that these people care.

Maybe this is standard for fine dining, but again, this was a treat for us and not something we do often.

Based on another review, I was already prepared to eat upstairs, away from the kitchen because we didn't purchase "VIP." However, we sat right in front of the kitchen. What a treat! We enjoyed watching the chefs work.

Expect to pay about $150 per person. It sounds high, but is worth it. The decor was amazing. I appreciated the little details like the logo on the back of the chairs, the napkins and on the light fixtures.

This has been a bucket list item for me since I was a kid. I thought my "hype" about the experience would be too high but the experience exceeded expectations.

Oh and valet parking was less than $30 and well worth it when you are in downtown Miami. They even allowed us to walk around downtown before retrieving our car.

I will absolutely be visiting other locations and encourage you to check it out. The visit made our night!”
