They took reservations which is a plus and when we were running late, they said don’t rush and we will change it to 7 see you when you get here. we didn’t feel like we upset anyone and we felt very welcomed. We got there and immediately was greeted by Paula (who we found out was one of the owners) and she told us all about the place and the special features that her husband and staff would be creating tonite. Once we sat we were not only greeted by the server who took our drink order but brought fresh bread and bruschetta to the table. (soo good by the way) The wine was terrific and let me tell you what else was. The shrimp 🦐 appetizer, the Pear pasta purses and the escargot. (There was four of us, relax lol) But then came our entrees. I had a taste of everyone’s and they were all amazing but mine was the best. I had the eggplant 🍆 and shrimp 🍤 parmigian. Holy smokes it was yummy!!! We ended up hanging out there for a total of 3 hours, I mean we literally closed the place down but not before dessert!! We had tiramisu, and two others I can’t remember but what I do remember is that their 80 plus year old mom makes all the desserts and there were like 10 or so options. Yum yum yum and more yum. We ended the evening with espressos and more wine 🍷. We had more amazing conversation with Paula and the staff (her family) and then we finally made our way to the car. Long story short we will be back time and again! Amazing place for dinner if you are looking for great food, romantic and cozy atmosphere with the friendliest staff ever‼️ I have never been treated so well at a restaurant before and if there was a 6th star to give I would give them six because it was really that good. “My wife and I went to eat in downtown NSB and our usual favorite was closed, so we walked around and came across Bar Leona. I normally never even glance at bars since bar food is normally atrocious, but after seeing what was on people's plates, we went in and were not disappointed. This is no bar food; the cuisine is obviously prepared by a well-trained chef. I have traveled the world and this is some of the best Italian cuisine I have had. I watched the kitchen and could see the craftsmanship going into the food prep.
The Buratta appetizer is a delicious blended ricotta with a pool of honey and a little spice. My only criticism is it should have a few more slices of crostini to go with the liberal portion of ricotta, but it's fabulous. The meatball appetizer has a generous portion with a well-balanced sauce, not too sour or tangy as with some Italian restaurants. Same goes for the Spicy Vodka ziti, Pasta Bolognese, Seafood Pasta; delicious sauces, well-balanced flavors, and generous portions. I have had some of their specials like mushroom seafood ravioli that was superb; handmade dough and filling, no frozen ravioli dumped out of a bag with a sauce poured on top. The Pork Picatta was a good-sized super tender pork chop over pasta covered by a delicious lemon caper sauce.
I have always gotten superb service whether on a weekday or busy weekend. Their team work together so if one server sees someone needs something, they'll step in and get it taken care of.
They have an excellent selection of desserts that change, and of course a great drink selection.
Prices are not cheap but are in line with this quality of fare in the area. There are not a lot of tables, especially for larger groups, so better get there early to avoid a wait. This place is now in my top two restaurants when I want a good meal.”

“I ordered an ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins for my son’s birthday, and I have to say—the team went above and beyond! It was an unusual design in the shape of a cooked turkey. Kelly the manager called me multiple times to keep me updated because they were having a bit of trouble getting the design just right. I didn’t catch the cake designers name but she did excellent. I know she was stressed. Rather than rushing it or settling, they offered alternative options, took the time to get it as close to perfect as they could, and made sure I was happy every step of the way.
Their kindness, patience, and dedication really stood out. It’s rare these days to find such caring customer service. The cake turned out great, and my son was thrilled. Thank you so much to the staff for helping make his birthday extra special. I truly appreciate the effort you put in!”

Interesting menu choices, lots of fun cocktails too. We had the pleasure of meeting BRAKUS (not sure of sp) on his first day there as a server. He was quite personable, fun, and entertaining! He will definitely be a great asset to the restaurant! The pesto shrimp flatbread and ahi tuna app were very good. My husband had a burger that had ham , cheese, onion rings, bacon stacked on it.. it was over 4 -5 in high.. difficult to eat but good. * I really dislike when ppl give ratings of 1 or 2 ‘based on an issue such as valet, or club colors ’. Not food/service. Doesn’t seem fair. I can see why they use valet, the parking lot has ruts that rainwater accumulates in, ppl would get wet getting in or out of their cars.”

“My wife and I went to eat in downtown NSB and our usual favorite was closed, so we walked around and came across Bar Leona. I normally never even glance at bars since bar food is normally atrocious, but after seeing what was on people's plates, we went in and were not disappointed. This is no bar food; the cuisine is obviously prepared by a well-trained chef. I have traveled the world and this is some of the best Italian cuisine I have had. I watched the kitchen and could see the craftsmanship going into the food prep.
The Buratta appetizer is a delicious blended ricotta with a pool of honey and a little spice. My only criticism is it should have a few more slices of crostini to go with the liberal portion of ricotta, but it's fabulous. The meatball appetizer has a generous portion with a well-balanced sauce, not too sour or tangy as with some Italian restaurants. Same goes for the Spicy Vodka ziti, Pasta Bolognese, Seafood Pasta; delicious sauces, well-balanced flavors, and generous portions. I have had some of their specials like mushroom seafood ravioli that was superb; handmade dough and filling, no frozen ravioli dumped out of a bag with a sauce poured on top. The Pork Picatta was a good-sized super tender pork chop over pasta covered by a delicious lemon caper sauce.
I have always gotten superb service whether on a weekday or busy weekend. Their team work together so if one server sees someone needs something, they'll step in and get it taken care of.
They have an excellent selection of desserts that change, and of course a great drink selection.
Prices are not cheap but are in line with this quality of fare in the area. There are not a lot of tables, especially for larger groups, so better get there early to avoid a wait. This place is now in my top two restaurants when I want a good meal.”
