“First time in this restaurant and I recommend it 100%. The food was amazing. We ordered the peanut butter stew and the Lamb Chebb and the flavors were mind blowing. Mary was awesome and a sweetheart. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit ATL.“

“Makay Chopbar catered my wedding last weekend and everything was a hit! Our menu included jollof with veggies, spring rolls, plantains, meatpies, grilled chicken, tomato goat stew, beef suya, and egusi! We barely had leftovers and all the guests raved how flavorful, tender, hot, and delicious the food was to honor my husband’s culture. It was a joy to see folks who never had this food going back for seconds and even grabbing to-go containers. The communication was impeccable and the chef accommodated special requests for food preparation to use traditional ingredients. The team arrived on time, created a lovely display, and the servers were so friendly. They also cleaned the area very well before departing.Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely order food and even try the their shipping option to VA! Paul runs a honest and affordable catering business. We greatly appreciate the entire staff for making our wedding day extra special!“
“I had an experience here 15 years ago , I really liked it and I thought this year, I'll replicate the experience. To my amazement, it was just as dtrlaran experience like I had 25 years back!!! I gathered it's closing soon after 26 years, I hope you reconsider!“
“This was not a planned visit but I stayed almost 2 hours. I loved the atmosphere. I didn’t eat anything. I had to go to the bar to order drinks. That could have been because we got there early but it was after midnight so I don’t know. I wish they had a dance floor. I didn’t like that we had to pay for parking but I will definitely visit again. That way I can stay longer and get the full experience and rate it. Stay tuned.“
“Great customer service made ordering very easy. The beef and shrimp fried rice was so delicious and adding the shito to this dish really topped it off. I had to try the okra stew with banku, and again I was not disappointed!! They have me as a customer that will keep returning. Just wow!“
“I had an amazing experience with Chef Roast’s jollof rice. It was absolutely delicious, with just the right blend of spices. The packaging was neat and practical, perfect for on-the-go. Most impressively, it was ready for pick-up within minutes. Fantastic service and quality!“
“Forgive me for not taking a before picture. The lady at the counter was very nice. Small shop in a plaza. isn’t the best plaza. Unique smell inside. Delighted to see a good food option in the plaza. I ordered the grilled lamb, lamb wrap, and fried rice/Benechin/Thieb. Rice was the best but I like it better when there are vegetables in it. The lamb meat was fatty in it. I ate all of the rice. My lamb wrap wasn’t the best because the meat inside was over cooked and had a little off taste. It was poorly wrapped, I couldn’t finish it. The grilled lamb had good flavor along with those awesome onions on top. A lot of the meat was chewy and inedible which was a bummer. This is my second time eating from here and I wanted to like it more as it is closer to me than the restaurant I usually go to for this type of food. They are fair priced. Wanted to try the Snapper. The meat pies didn’t look filled so I didn’t order one. I can’t say that I am converted.Parking: Plaza needs updating and uplifting. Plenty parking everywhere. You can park upside down it’s so much space“
“This is the first affordable West African food I've ever found stateside! $7.50 for spicy chicken and some sort of yummy veggie plasa. I hope this lunch special works out for them, as I would love to see more of these places offering something for less than $20. (side note: if there could be a veggies+yam special at this price, that would be fantastic).Great playlist, too!“
“The food was quite tasty and the portions large. My first time having Gambianian food. I would have liked a medium or small serving option. We could not finish and as we were in a hotel did not have the capacity to store the leftovers and had to discard. (Dinner for 4 $80 we threw away at least $25 to $30.)The space, dining and serving area needs to be renovated to make more inviting.“
“This is by far my favorite choice for African food in Atlanta. I usually order take out as the establishment itself does not offer much seating space and is a little less desirable to the eye. However, this is an example of not judging a book by its cover because the food is delicious!“
“What I really wanted was Amala with Ewedu + Gbegiri, but it wasn’t ready yet, so I opted for Pounded yam and Ẹ̀fọ́ rírò.The food arrived with a rich aroma of Iru, the vegetables were nicely cooked and the meat… Assorted — huge chunks of cowleg, beef and Ṣhaki (tripe).Nice meal.I’ll be sure to return next time I’m in Atlanta.“
