“I stopped at this location on Christmas Eve.. Knowing it was a holiday and most restaurants are closed, I wasn't sure what kind of service to expect or how busy they might be. As to my surprise everything went perfectly. I got myself a BLT with cheese on Texas toast and some good ole hashbrowns scattered, smothered, and covered!! “In a couple of words Cotton Calf was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I went on a date night. We had the calamari, signature cocktails, chopped salad, Delmonico ribeye, truffle fries, and the bread pudding for dessert. We got to sit at I guess, what would be considered a chef's table directly across from the kitchen facing the kitchen so that we could see the staff and all the food being prepared which was really interesting and entertaining. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous, the ambiance was on point for a date night and we were very well attended to without our server being overbearing. Everything that we had food-wise was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The drinks were well poured and delivered above and beyond expectations. This was our second time going and we had the same experience the first time we went. The bread pudding was the best I have ever had in my life. My wife and I always order bread pudding when we see it on a menu and this was top notch. I'm not going to say that in this case you get what you pay for because we've been to other restaurants that we could eat at for about half the price, but in this case I wouldn't change anything and the high price tag didn't lessen my experience at all. We will definitely be going again.“

“I’m new to the area, so I decided to try some local establishments. First on deck? Sam’s on Main Mediterranean restaurant. It was okay. We had to move twice because the air conditioning was blowing directly on us and creating an uncomfortable dining experience. Once reseated in a decent location, we ordered appetizers which came out really quickly (fried green tomatoes and calamari). Both were delicious! Our server was nice enough, (a young man whose name escapes me, but I think he’s a member of the family who owns the restaurant) anyway, aside from him, we felt sense a little unease from other patrons and staff due to our race. I’m never one to play the race card, but, you could sense “we” don’t frequent this establishment often or something, because my friend who arrived before I did mentioned the looks and unwelcome reaction she received when she entered. I felt it, but the way my confidence level is setup, I could care less what anybody thinks or feels about me, and wish somebody would say something inappropriate while I’m out spending my hard earned money. But, I digress. Suffice it to say, there were noticeable racial overtones. Some subtle, some not so subtle, but, overall it wasn’t too uncomfortable to leave, but definitely worth noting. The food was good. I had a gyro with the house potatoes (great choice), and my friend had the lamb burger (she said the party was too small for the price) with fries. The taste and quality of the food earned them 5 stars. The service would get a 3.5, because the waiter did not come back and check on us frequently, nor did he bring needed items in a timely manner—napkins, ketchup, water refills, etc. We enjoyed the meal and the fellowship with one another, but honestly probably won’t be back. Perhaps a to go order? Perhaps.“

“Awesome place. Was looking for lunch and was thinking fast food, but those crazy prices might get something good. So tried this place was reasonably priced and about same price as what fast food charges. Food was filling, place was nice inside and seemed like a nice communial place to gather. Great experience and food came out hot and fresh, faster then waiting in the fast food line.“

“4-21-24 When we pulled into the parking lot at Papa Jack's, it was a mad house. People were trying to park while others were in line for the drive- thru. When you walk in, you stand in line like in a cafeteria. They have their menu on a board of what they're serving on that day. I had the pot roast ($1.50 extra & they were very frugal with the potatoes & carrots), mac & chz, cabbage & cornbread. For 3 of us, it was $42+ a tip, which = $50. The cashier asked for a tip & I'm not even sure who it went toward considering we had to carry our own food... We did meet a man & had lunch with him. It was nice meeting & talking with you, Dave!! ☺️ Hopefully, we will cross paths with you again soon while here in Buford.“

“This is a small quaint restaurant that has the mom and pop atmosphere and southern hospitality, geared more towards the older generation it’s a peaceful spot for a good meal. The food is everything you expect from a southern cafe with all the flavor and hospitality along with it. The food is priced in low range and you will get a good meal for a few bucks.“

They have Fish Fridays, where they sell "Shrimp Mac" (shrimp in Mac and Cheese with seasoning) and other seafoods. They also have barbecue on Saturdays. The staff is very wonderful, and they speak both English and Spanish to entice more people of the Dacula community.“

“This is our very favorite spot, we’ve been dining here and enjoying drinks for three years now. On our latest visit, we sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by Rayna. She is an amazing bartender and was so impressive serving all of the tables in the bar area, while making drinks for the entire restaurant. “Excellent restaurant if you are in the Winder area. I can't vouch for all locations but there are big differences between locations. The Winder location was great. Besides the fact that their Cuban is not really from Cuba like the menu states it was still delicious and the fact that it was bogo night for wraps made it better. Go see Samaria and get her to tell you about the wonderful deep fried cheesecake they no longer have on the menu. LoL!!“

“I’ve been here plenty of times and I have had a pleasant time each time but the other night I came and one young lady really went above and beyond for me in the drive thru. After a long day I decided to stop here to get food for my family and this young lady was not only sweet but also very very patient with me and answered all questions I had about anything in my order. “Wow! 10/10! Don't listen to those other negative reviews. This restaurant is AMAZING with a beautiful view and the staff makes you feel so special. Our waitress, Chelsea, was waiting for us to decide on a side dish. We were debating between the grits and fruit bowl. When she came out, she brought both out! We also wanted to share our food and she gave us separate plates instead of just cutting it in half or bringing a side plate. The food was delicious! Worth every penny“

“Went to Philanthropy Grill for lunch and they did not disappoint! I had the Haddock fish and chips and a Peach Crown Royal lemonade. The fish and fries were seasoned just right, the coleslaw was good, but babayyy that Peach Lemonade was the bomb! The young lady that waited on us was exceptional in making sure we were ok. “Went with the wife to kill some time on a Friday. Our drinks were great and Jessica the bartender was very nice. Alex and Sidney helped us with our appetizers, which were amazing. We had the shrimp and ahi tuna. On the way out, we talked to Mars, Brandy, and Lauren. Mars and Brandy had both waited on us before, and I remembered how attentive and happy they were. “My son wanted Waffle House for his birthday, so I took him here. It’s a small parking lot and they were packed when we arrived. Luckily we didn’t have to wait long for a table, but that told me it was gonna be good food! Pam was an absolute doll helping my kids order and checked on us frequently. “This is my favorite Waffle House location.They are always friendly and the food is delicious.But the experience I had last Friday was special.I was visiting with my son and eating a meal around 3pm. I was in a very depressed mood because I had an upsetting incident with someone else earlier in the day. Suddenly the person who was making the food in the kitchen left a plate of food on my table in a to-go box. I looked at him and said, "This is not ours." He said with a very kind smile, "This is on the house." My son whispered to me. "Mom, he saw you crying." I was very moved. Even if it was just a plate of food, it was worth more than that to me.It made me think that this is a world where a wound caused by a person I used to know can be healed by a complete stranger. “Changing my original rating. Went today with the family after church. We were sat promptly and the waitress was nice. However, everyone in our party of 6 was very dissatisfied with their food. Tortilla chips came out stale and ice cold. The chicken tenders were over cooked. The French fries were soggy and full of grease. The lettuce in my Mahi street tacos was brown and sour tasting. The pulled pork nachos had a large bone in it and again the Tortilla chips were stale. And no we didn't speak to a manager because there wasn't much staff present or anyone that even remotely looked like they had any authority. Unfortunately this is the 2nd bad experience we've had. We will not be back. The price was not worth it at all.“
