“Such an unassuming little place if you're driving by, by you will not regret going in and having a meal. CASH ONLY SO BE PREPARED! They are the definition of a good southern home-cooked meal. Everything my husband and I have gotten, from breakfast to lunch to dinner, has been filling, delicious, with the best side of southern hospitality and conversation. I love their burgers and tots and country fried steak! We just live around the corner and we still kick ourselves for taking 3 years to try The Dinner Bell. The owners are the sweetest too! So friendly and fun to chat with.“

“The best restaurant experience we have had in years. I just cannot say enough great things about the food, the service ( the team work was incredible) and the zero proof menu blew me away.. I’m a retired drinker and it just made my whole day having fun and artfully crafted drinks to choose from. From one restaurant family to another we wish you all the most success. Lang ( don’t hate me if I’m getting it wrong, it’s been a couple days) was spectacular. So kind, so knowledgeable! Also, the bartender was crushing it..making the beverages, and helping their team by running them out. I’m rambling now but kudos to yall! Cheers to many more years!“

“We made a reservation and were given a nice private table by friendly staff. I noticed the wall next to our table even had USB ports to charge your phone! We decided to try the cocktails and were happy to find they were expertly crafted and delicious! My husband had a bourbon - The Frazier Fashioned. I had a drink called Fear and Loathing which was just the right amount of tartness plus a slightly smoky flavor from the salt on the rim. Main course was NOLA poboy for me and husband got the Chilean salmon with grilled caesar romaine lettuce. Poboy shrimp was just right spicy and smoky with the bonus of a buttermilk biscuit in the broth. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right- moist, flaky and yummy. Dessert was coconut lime tres leches prepared by their trained pastry chef. We loved the tangy creaminess of this dessert! We will be back!“

“I had been hiking in the park all day and my hiking partner made a reservation for us. Even though I was embarrassingly underdressed for such a classy place, they not only allowed me in, but they also made me feel like royalty while I was there. I can't remember when I have experienced such friendliness and hospitality from a restaurant staff. And the food was just as good as the service. The honey almond chicken is amazing!! The Next time I'm in the area, I will probably drop in again. Highly recommended.“

“A brunch all day restaurant is the perfect addition to the southside. I walk here, but there is a nice free parking lot adjacent. The bagels are the real deal, the tots are delicious, great options for everyone. I have loved everything I’ve tried. So far, my favorites: the French toast, the avocado toast with egg, and I love their thin crust pizza. Drinks, coffee drinks, great service - all the things that make me happy!“

“I ordered the quesobarria plate and my wife had the chicken mole. Simply put, I was blown away by the quality of this food. It's obvious the owner takes deep pride in his food and it shows. I love hot sauce and he brought out a house made pineapple and a mango hot sauce. The pineapple hot sauce changed my life. I can't wait to try more items on their menu“

“This was our first time. We went to the location at Cherokee Blvd. LOVED the French toast and Farm Stand tacos. But we were placed right between two other families and felt like I was at their table. It was really loud and I struggled to talk to my husband for hearing the conversation within elbows reach of me.“

“I have been on a bit of a BBQ tour lately and thought I would put Sugar's on the list. I'm glad I did. I had the ribs with greens and mo' rockin stew. I thought the ribs were really good. Very tender, moist with good smoke. They have several sauce options that not only have good flavor but we're quite distinct from each other which was fun and delicious.I don't have enough experience with greens to compare but they were tender and not bitter and I thought really good with the clearly great sauce. The mo' rockin stew was nice too. Kind of a chicken and bean soup that was a nice change from the usual baked beans. The meal came with cornbread muffins. They were good with corn kernels and pieces of jalapenos. They were moist but probably the least noteworthy part of the meal.The restaurant sits up on a hill and has a nice view of Chattanooga. You can sit inside or out on the deck. There are goats on the property which are fun and friendly. The waitress was polite and pretty on top of everything. The cashier/hostess was a nice surprise. Energetic, friendly and engaging she was a nice throw back to classic American hospitality. Overall the whole experience was really enjoyable. I will definitely be back. “Mary’s plate lunches are the best! No cans in her kitchen. Homemade desserts are delicious. And the grill is manned by Christopher and they will melt in your mouth YUMBO! The staff is attentive to your needs and they love the customers. No wonder they have been and stayed in business since 1918. Family owned and now run by the 4th generation. I’ve even seen the 5th and 6th generation helping when they are “in the weeds”. You owe it to yourself to eat there.“

“I travel the state as a safety instructor. Was here about two years ago and had the best meatloaf ever. (Don't tell Mom). Returned to have it again yesterday but now they only serves it on Sundays. Had chicken fried steak instead and it was fantastic! Can't speak for the entire menu but this is a fine place ran by wonderful good people! I am never disappointed.“

“The food is delicious. It's your typical American food -- hamburgers, French fries, tuna sandwiches, meatloaf, etc.... The service is great. There's all tables and also "bar" seating. Not a whole lot of room if you have a walker or wheelchair. That's the only downside.“

“The food was a “greasy spoon” kind, and PERFECT! The mushroom & Swiss burger was great, the tomato was ripe, and the fries were crispy. I ordered the fried pickle spears also and as a foodie - they hit my spot. My husband ordered the onion rings and the bacon cheeseburger. The onion rings were the battered type (my fav) instead of breaded. The waitress was very friendly, the restroom clean, and the old man sitting by the register was chatty. He engaged my husband in a good conversation. Overall, it was a splendid experience.Parking: It’s a favorite eating place for firefighters and their fire trucks were parked on the street. It was pretty tight in the parking lot.“

I have a grilled chicken salad that was fresh and cold. My husband had an impossible burger that he said was good. Staff were friendly and there were tables to eat in the restaurant.“
