“Wanted something a "Little Sweet" and found it. The taro mochi violet was excellent. Not to sweet and just right. The guy that was working the front was very helpful and even gave us a sample of some amazing soon to come to the menu item. He was so happy when we told him we loved our items! Can't wait to go again.“

“Fooki is an amazing spot as a solo diner, date night spot, or with a group of friends you want to catch up with. I ordered the Seafood Laksa, which was very flavorful and if you end up saving the leftover curry coconut creamy broth, would be ideal for layering on top of any appetizer. The Shrimp Paste Noodle Soup could've been improved upon as the broth wasn't too memorable, however the hand made shrimp paste was fairly unique. If you have a group bigger than two, would recommend making reservations to play it safe!“

“If you’re looking for those super fluffy Japanese souffle pancakes, this is the place to get ‘em. Aside from the pancakes, which are delicious on their own, they have creative toppings like Biscoff and Crème Brûlée and Brown Sugar Boba - those sauces will have you licking the wax off the plates lol.I also appreciate how you can order the drinks at varying degrees of added sweetness - for smoothies 25% is about right for me. They’re always coming up with new and seasonal flavors for the drinks as well - you’ll have a hard time deciding between a tea, milk tea, smoothie or milk shake.Parking is plentiful in the area; closest garage would be the Hmart one and you can get validation with a purchase in the market. On Sundays, street parking is free and the area is pretty safe during the day - just don’t go into the bathrooms at the park nearby.“

“Been there more than 2 dozen times, seriously, I have the stamp cards to prove it! Our go-to is the Thai milk tea and regular milk tea. Their brown sugar boba is the bomb, chewy and soft. We've had their excellent smoothies, yogurt drinks, and teas.“

“I love to walk here when I'm taking a long walk. The service is great as are the drinks. I like to get the papaya smoothie and add boba and the boba is perfectly made. It also doesn't freeze with the drink, so it's delicious to the last sip. The atmosphere is cozy as it is just an ordering window, but there is a place to sit if you're looking for a reprieve from the sun or your walk.“

“I love this place! So much different options that your regular boba spot doesn't have. Highly recommend the rice yogurt drinks if you like texture while drinking a creamy smoothie. Very clean on the inside and the staff is always so nice. Also you really can't beat the price!“

“We Were looking for something different and of course had to buss out yelp to look for a different dessert place and we found it. Located in the same shopping center as foodland in Mililani...actually right next to foodland. A very small restaurant with maybe a dozen seats or less with a korean icecream trinket vibe....Ok I just made that up just look at the pics...:) The menu has alot of differrent selections.....Bingsu being their special offering. (Soft fluffy flavored ice nothing like shaved ice) smoothies cold tea drinks and a tyoe of fruity korean waffles. The owner was the only worker and he was pretty cool and patient...of course we was the only one there (prob bc it was like 7 and it was raining) Definetely someplace to try. It was definetely different..prices wasnt cheap but now nothing is...Anyways it was a cool experienxe and we will be back.“

“Uncle's Chicken is a small chicken shop located near Sakana in Kalihi. I placed a 5 chicken sandwich order around 11:20 and was quoted 15 minutes. I left downtown to grab the food right after and my food was ready by the time I got there. Very impressive chicken sandwich. I got the spicy one and it was only spicy in certain parts of my sandwich, which is why I gave minus one star. It seems like I was eating the original sandwich and put hot sauce in one spot of my sandwich. Other than that, the chicken was moist and crispy. The bread was so good. Seemed like a sweet bread bun. Definitely put the sandwich together. I think one thing I wish they included was pickles. That would make the sandwich complete! I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area. Their boba drinks look very impressive too.“

“I really appreciate YiFang's ingredients and toppings. Some (or all?) teas are imported from Taiwan and their focus is on incorporating fresh fruit flavors. Also this is one of the few places on island that I know of with green tea jelly! I prefer the non-sugary flavor of green tea jelly to balance out tart and/or sweet flavored drinks. My personal favorites are pairing it with citrus teas or their current specialty drink - green plum green tea. Specialty drinks usually change through out the yearFYI, most of their drinks have a recommended sweetness of 50-70%. (The recommendation list is posted on the counter - but it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it) Adjust accordingly depending on your preference.Lattes (aka milk teas) tend to be served somewhat layered. Mix before drinking if you want evenly distributed flavors.Parking is tricky. As far as I know, options are mostly street parking on Makaloa or Ke’eaumoku. They have a rewards stamp card if you're a repeat visitor!“

“Currently, my go-to place for boba/bubble tea because they have cold AND hot options, and are fairly priced. Lots of businesses have upped their prices, but Wen's is kept to affordable prices. The service here is consistently patient, friendly, helpful and kind. They also have deals if you're enrolled in their rewards program. The place itself is smaller but super homey. Cute wall of sticky notes for written messages and fun doodles. I personally love their range of tea options. Love the classic milk tea hot with boba (warning straw can melt if you don't use a metal/plastic one). I also enjoy their iced fruit options.“

“I had very high hopes for this place.A few weeks ago, I stopped by for the first time and got beef curry and gyoza to go. It was spectacular! Decided to go for the ramen next visit. And I did.I wanted to get the thickest, most robust flavored soup, so I got the "Special" tonkotsu black garlic ramen.I really liked the visual presentation. Very vibrant, neat and appetizing. As with most ramen takeouts, the soup and noodles were packaged in separate containers. Before pouring the soup into the ramen bowl, I took a little sip.It was a tad disappointing, as I had such high hopes for this shop. The soup was a bit on the bland side. I guess the fried garlic chips are supposed to carry the flavor but there's nothing else. What I did notice was a slight slimy texture and a hint of odor. This probably indicates that inferior pork bones were used to draw the soup stock. For those of you who don't know how tonkotsu soup is made, ignorance is bliss. If you knew exactly what's in it, you may be traumatized! So, I'll spare you the details. What I will say is that hours of boiling the pork bones is needed to extract the umami, but other ingredients are crucial too. Grated ginger, garlic cloves, salt and pepper are some of the common items that are used. Despite the shortcomings of the tonkotsu soup, I have high hopes that Rakumen could be a top contender in the ramen world if they tweaked their soup just a little bit. Use better quality pork bones would be one. Adding a bit more flavor would be the other. *I had some leftover soup, so I added a little grated ginger and garlic with a few drops of la-yu to it and already, it was about as good as the other ramen shops in town. I give them 4 stars despite the seemingly harsh critique of their tonkotsu, because of their prompt and courteous service. But most of all, I believe that they will only get better.Looking forward to visiting again to up them to 5 stars!“

“I liked this place.. and would love to go again. Unfortunately I don't have images to share but next time I pick up a bit I promise to share! I ordered the birria melt (comes with consommé) and the salted lemon tea drink. My partner in crime and food ordered the lobster melt and we shared the prime rib fries with added bacon and cheddar.. I know. That's just too much. But we did it anyway muahahaha!! This was really good. I like the ample outdoor seating and the counter ordering setup. The staff was nice and the portions were large. I'll definitely go to this location again. I personally haven't tried the Chinatown location, but I like the airport one very much.“

“We were greeted by two lovely young ladies. We ordered "2" Macha Frappuccino with coconut milk and ube cake. The Macha frap tasted like the Japanese Macha ice cream from Tanaka of Tokyo or from Dave's Ice Cream. The Ube cake was soft and not overpowering in sweetness it was just right. We were greeted as we exited and we enjoyed our refreshing drinks and soft ube cake“
“The owner was very friendly. Steve made sure that we felt at home. He is very personable. Steve took our order then joined us on the other side of the counter to chat with us about our time in Hawaii. He even gave us other recommendations for food. Drinks were also very good. I got the Rose Green tea and so far, it's the best I've had! If I had more time here, I would definitely come back. Steve said he is opening a location in Cerritos, CA called Cali Tea this summer. He opens the time I visit family, so I will definitely be paying him a visit!“

“Came back to give this place another try and was greeted by a very friendly lady. I ordered a banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was strong, bold flavor with a hint of chocolatey sweetness. Woke me up and hit the spot. I ordered the traditional Banh Mi. It is a Vietnamese sandwich made with a Crusty French bread rolls smeared with pate, mayo, Asian ham, pickled vegetables, green onion, coriander/cilantro, fresh chillies and drizzle of seasoning. It came warm, crispy with a great crunch and satisfied my craving. Will be back to try more items on the menu and thank you for the good service.“

“A quiet and peaceful café. The only person working there (potentially the owner) was a sweet old lady. Ordered two Vietnamese coffees, one black and one with condensed milk. The lady asked, "Do you want it strong?" Holy cow, lady! Both were quite good, and easily the strongest tasting coffees my wife and I ever had. Finally, the prices are fair, probably too low for this place to make much money, but it added to the feeling of going to a neighborhood café owned by the Oma next door instead of a faceless corporation.Vegetarian options: Tons of smoothies, all fresh fruits. Good prices, too.“

“Was craving some bubble tea while on vacation and found this local spot via Google reviews. We had to go up a tight ramp to find parking on the second floor, then take the elevator down to this shop which is at ground floor. We tried a milk tea and a classic winter melon tea. We found the tapioca here to be the perfect texture. They also sell little stickers but only accept cash or Venmo for those. When the lady working here found out that I was Taiwanese but didn’t have cash/Venmo, she graciously decided to gift me one anyway! So glad to have found this cute and welcoming shop!“

“A hidden gem on the campus of University of Hawaii located at the student center. I had low expectations considering that it's on campus but I was pleasantly surprised that the drink was good and reasonably priced. There may be a line depending on what time you come, especially during lunch hours. But the staff were extremely fast and efficient, you could be in and out within 5 mins if you come during off peak times.“

“I absolutely love this boba shop located on JBPHH. The owner is always so happy to chat with the customers and each drink is made to order. The dragon fruit drink is full of flavor and the color is vibrant. I also ordered a mango drink and it was perfect and not too sweet. Plus the sizes are very generous for the price. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Military base access is required to go to the shop.“
