“We have been to Sweet Journeys for their non-dairy desserts a few times before, and clearly we enjoy those. For me, the toasted coconut flakes pack a subtle but powerful flavor punch on any of the flavors I’ve tried.Today, we tried the Journey Cafe side, and ordered the Pizza Al Taglio from the Gratitude Menu. It was WAY more flavorful than I had expected. It was sooooo good. So many complementary flavors, and a little spiciness. The accompanying hummus was also among the best I’ve ever had. It made me want to try The Journey from the same menu, but we’ll have to go back for that. Of course, we followed with some dessert from Sweet Journeys next door. Just go.“
“9th best fish tacos in the US, come and get em! They are delicious! Katie offered great service and pointed me in the right direction when I was debating what to get. There's a beautiful deck overlooking the water with 7 seats and 8-10 tables inside. The deck is a beautiful place to watch the sunset and the moon rise. There's a restroom.“
“What an awesome tour we took. You get to see every part of the development stages of these abalone. They also have other projects that are going on as well so you get to see their seaweed and learn about the type that they grow. The tour is complete with a taste of some sea grapes and abalone prepared 2 different ways (I love them over the grill wrapped in foil). We opted for the BBQ addition. 100% will do it again. Touring with 6 children, the outdoors were a perfect place to let them play while the BBQ is going. The menu was superb. We were greeted by Minoʻaka, who gave us the low down of the locally sourced course (surf & turf) and prepared our tent and BBQ grill. By the time we finished the tour, the propane BBQ was heated and ready to go saving us wait time. 100% recommend the tour as the guide is very knowledgeable about the farm, missed her name as were late to join the tour. 100% recommend paying extra for the BBQ (you donʻt have to eat the abalone if you donʻt like it but the steak and lobster is pretty tasty).“
“I highly recommend this gelato business! It is the perfect place to go and get some gelato, and then walk across the street and watch the sun set into the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Plus, there are lots of shops to browse around before you go satisfy your sweet tooth.“
“Locally sourced food prepared daily. The freshness of it all comes with every bite. Reasonably priced but it is a la carte so be mindful. You'll wish you another stomach once you're full. Go and try them, you'll be glad you did. My next visit to Kona, I'm going back!“
“First time trying real poke! Not a big fan of anything raw but decided since I'm in Hawaii, I need to try poke. This place was pretty straightforward with its options and had great ones. I went with a poke bowl with rice, shrimp, and dynamite (not really sure all it had) but nonetheless it had a great flavor.“
“Though I have yet to visit this store in person, I recently sampled some of their cookies (thanks to a close friend's cousin who brought a box over from Hawaii to Los Angeles) and my goodness gracious!! These cookies were delicious beyond delicious!!! I may have to fly to Hawaii JUST to visit this store to buy ALL their cookies!! Not kidding!!“
“This was a great place to eat. The food tasted amazing (definitely certified ono aka delicious) and very filling. The staff was friendly and the service was relatively quick. All of the ingredients were fresh. It was very close to the ocean and local shops, and there was a bathroom inside (which was an extra bonus if you've been out and about). I would definitely recommend it to others!“
“Fun cool treat to enjoy after a long beach day. Delicious and full of flavor. Enjoyed sitting and relaxing while watching a pick up game of volleyball right next to the shave ice shop. No public restrooms but the girl at the counter was nice enough to give me the code for the locked restroom around the back.“
“If you want to find Kona coffee shop and experience Kona coffee - this is Kona coffee shop that you need to visit. The shop Location is great, close to pier and other tourist attractions. Friendly and quick service. And the coffee drinks that we bought were actually really great and tasty.“
“Its a completely vegan and vegetarian restaurant located in the middle of a parking lot in Kona. The food options are amazing. Variety of vegan burgers, vegan pizzas and salads on the menu. We tried the taro burger and a pizza. Also this place has some amazing smoothies that you must try.The guy who took our order was really sweet.“
“This was the culinary highlight of our trip to the big island! Sam and Jennifer are super kind in explaining the business-all local ingredients! Premium ingredients (local chocolate, Kona hinted brownies-Mac nut base ice cream)-wowza! Serious stuff! Come support this incredible shop. Yum!“
“This shop is a small counter-service spot with some outdoor seating available. The bowl was cool and refreshing, and the fruit toppings were fresh, but the açai base was too sweet for my liking and was likely store bought -- you couldn't taste the sourness that you'd get with a fresh base. There was a lot of granola, but it was a quality mix. The small (16oz) bowl came out to a little over $12 which is the cheapest I've seen on the downtown kona strip. Service was very quick and polite -- maybe only 3minutes between when I ordered and got my bowl. They also serve shaved ice and drinks, however I only tried the açai.“
“Very touristy stop to get coffee. Lots of offers to taste things and shelves of options to buy things for travelers. Service was great and very patient with my daughter changing her mind all the time.Kid-friendliness: Very patient with my daughter and they were sharing kids books with us while there.“
“This is the coffee shop you’ve been looking for. Exceptionally fresh, delicious, and a warm welcoming couple who are clearly very serious and passionate about coffee.Without question one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. We feel so lucky to have met Matt and Lisa at BerryBird Coffee at the Ali’i Marketplace on Tuesday and we loved the coffee and our new friends so much we came back with the whole family on Thursday! My first visit we had the pour over grown in Hawaii, which was phenomenally smooth and rich. It left me thinking about it for the next two days.On our second trip we had pour overs of both their medium roast and a Columbian bean Matt was kind enough to share from his own personal supply! The family really enjoyed the espresso and vanilla bean latte, with the vanilla beans grown locally as well. Lisa made us a very refreshing cooler with some tea made from coffee pulp and a citrus jelly which was perfect on a warm day. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re on Big Island! Thank you Matt and Lisa!“
“Super friendly! Let us try all their drip coffee blends and Mac nut products. I ended up getting an iced americano and my partner got the coconut drip coffee. Best coffee we've had so far in Kona! Store was clean and they have cute outdoor bar seating with a great view.“
“Presentation is super cute, and flavors are excellent. Great but expensive açaí & pitaya bowls, and fancy coffee options. Service is a bit slow and there’s not a lot of seating outside, but still an easily accessible spot along the main road along Kona coast.“
“We were so happy to pick this spot for a coffee and chat before we departed. I loved my Ube cream foam cold brew. The kids had fun, the atmosphere is right up my alley and the kids shared a little vegan lemon cake. Lots nearby to walk to and parking was sufficient.“
“Willie's chicken is definitely hot, those who like it hot should definitely try the Lava …. This is an excellent hot dry rub. Paige has a healthy respect for people on vacation... very generous pours. The atmosphere and ambiance is second to none. Affordable prices, friendly and fun setting, indoor and outdoor seating and the most important thing is the food is great. Shawn, Soren and Ky..... thank you all for the invite and the hospitality, definitely a highlight for us.....you have people ready to move across a whole ocean. Looking forward to the next time already!“
“This is not the easiest place to find because there are no outside signs. It is located within the International Center food court with about six other food businesses. It's best to park at the back of the building. The food here is authentic, well prepared, and quite tasty. This building is outdated and uninspiring, but the common area of tables is open to outdoors and airy.If you found this review to be helpful please consider adding a thumbs up. ?“
“Kai is definitely one of my top places to lunch . The best and closest ocean view, the pizza is the best, their service is always good, parking is easy across the way! And most importantly I feel that they are one of not the most integrity driven food options on alii drive , while other establishments sometimes rest on a steady new supply of tourists and take advantage… I’ll be back soon“
“Our cashier Ren was so nice! Gave us the full Aloha service! Was extremely accommodating with providing a variety of gluten free options and not just generic GF pancakes but a variety of flavors. Nice comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Short drive to the beach if you want to take your food and go eat at the beach. The macadamia pancakes were amazing. Super fluffy and moist eggs were cooked to perfection in. The spam was delicious! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options“
“Excellent coffee and latte, excellent smoothie, excellent paninis. The pickles on the side were delicious. A little expensive, but pretty comparable pricing to everything else in Kona. Other places we ate were just as expensive and a little disappointing, Hungry Honu was not at all disappointing. Among all three sandwich and drink selections in our party, all were excellent.“
“We ate at Poi Dog Deli twice while on Big Island. It was fantastic. We loved the casual atmosphere, the popcorn, the staff were very friendly and the sandwiches were delicious. It can be very difficult to find places for my husband to eat out while traveling with Celiac. But they were knowledgeable about gluten cross contamination and had GF bread. My husband didn't get sick either time.Dietary restrictions: They were great with Gluten Free/ Celiac.Kid-friendliness: Our 11 year old son loved it just as much as we did.“
“Hands down the BEST poke of Kona Island. We tried all highly rated places and only this one really hit all the high marks. High-quality rice cooked to perfection (we had a lot of bad rice at other places), amazing fish (fresh and perfectly seasoned) and fantastic price. We are surely going to be back. 本当にご馳走様ですた!“
