“Arvo in Waimea is a nice and quaint cafe that is pleasing to the eyes, ears, and mouth. As soon as you walk in, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The menu is simple but has everything you may crave. I tried the Nutella Toast and Smoked Salmon Toast. They were both masterfully made and well-presented. They looked like works of art and tasted great. I also tried an iced vanilla latte and that was nice and creamy, not too sweet, and delicious.The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. It seems like a great place to study or do work. There's plenty of seating indoors and great outdoor seating as well. All in all a great cafe with nothing to complain about.“
“On a crowded Monday afternoon(roughly 12pm) The hostess hustled to fill every seat in the house. She quickly kept the lines moving and offered us 2 seats at the bar. I typically don't like bar seating because I enjoy the space to eat comfortably, but the WNBA draft was on so we accepted and I'm so glad we did!We were helped by Quincy who was bartending that day. She was friendly and answered all of our questions pertaining to the menu and the daily specials.(You're in for a TREAT if they are serving the lilikoi cheesecake!) I ordered the brisket nacho house fries (also a daily special) and my wife and I split a Paniolo burger...As a burger snob, (former employee at In N Out burger) I have to say this is a top 3 on the island! (Ono Loa Grill, Johnny's burger) The nacho fries I ordered without the sour cream but, it was still loaded with flavor and was served on a boat-like tray that made sharing a breeze! Now, back to Quincy, I hope she is acknowledge for her hustle and hospitality! It was packed! But we never felt like we were ever waiting around long! It's because she wouldn't allow it! Every plate that emerged from the kitchen looked amazing and I cannot wait for my 2nd visit to The Fish and the Hog!“
“JoJo's is a classic. Getting into this one is more difficult because the restaurant space is so small. They have additional covered seating nearby, but be warned, it is well loved by previous shave ice enthusiasts--it's sticky! Bring baby wipes or something for your hands and faces.“
“Paniolo (cowboy in Hawaiian) town is a ranch town. The town has many fashionable shops, and this cafe has a very Waimea-like atmosphere. Freshly brewed coffee is aromatic and very delicious. The cakes and bagels are all delicious. Please come and visit us! I want to live in this city!“
“Food truck located at the Midweek Farmer's Market (on Wednesdays). Definitely wish we knew about the ordering ahead, because it takes forever, but it's certainly worth the wait. The Reuben is unbelievably tasty. One of the best we've ever had. Pro tip: If you wanna make the most of your time, hit up Red Barn right when you get to the Market; place your order; and then bop around the market as there are some unique vendors that you can't find anywhere else. The people working the truck are super nice and friendly. Thank you“
“Found this place on our last day unfortunately! we would have ate here everyday if we would have known how good it was, some of the best food we had our entire visit here. We had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and spicy mayo, and regular waffle with the best whip cream and butter, ube latte, and peanut butter açaí bowl. You could tell the food was made with care.“
“I never review anything online, but our family's experience here was special and renewed my faith in humanity. When we got there, the man behind the window asked what both my boys wanted, but I told him that I only had enough for one shave ice (it's cash only). He then said that he would give us 2 anyways! It was such a sweet gesture. A lesson to us all, and my kids especially, that kindness is something we should practice more often. Oh, and the shave ice was great and he gave me a spoonful of coconut ice cream too which was wonderfully sweet and creamy. Please support this place.“
“We were recently on the island and were looking for a place to stop for lunch. Saw the sign on the side of the road and decided to take a chance. As voted by our family of 4 it was the best place we ate on our whole trip. DO NOT miss stopping here for food!!! The lady that took our order and brought it to us was amazing! The service was fast. The food was mouth watering! If I could give this place 10 stars I would!“
“This place has the best atmosphere you could have in a coffee shop. If you been to Starbucks. You will never want to go back. The food is amazing and always fresh. FRESH! Starbucks has so much trash waste because it's all processed frozen food. I see the employees make me food from scratch!! Amazing!!! Kua Swell bubble drink so freaking good. The service is unbelievably considerate and nice. They would even answer questions outside of Coffee. Very informative. I got there pretty late and I was having a good drink and food to eat. Apparently food ended 20 minutes after I got my food. I came back to get another drink. It then got ruined by a really rude customer... I asked him about his intel hat because I really wanted one like that! He told me "find it yourself, I work for intel." I was like uh ok it was just a question. He then proceeded to harass the employees! Like dude why are you yelling at the people who make your food? The sign clearly says closing at 4pm. The way the lady worker didn't raise her voice and tried to help with all his concerns while he was snapping at her was beyond comprehension. How did she have the patience for him? I had to speak up and explain to him "they are closing up so some things are closed, for someone who works at intel how can you not process that?" He then made more things to complain about. The umbrellas was one of them. They didn't even buy anything and didn't even sit outside... they were at this point loitering.. I was able to look up who this guy was.. apparently a mean doctor and a teacher. A lot of people talk about how rude he is to his employees and students. I believe them. He made my drink sour but honestly other than that weird encounter.. I'm going to complain to the intel higher ups about this guy since I work with Microsoft. “Such a quant restaurant. Every meal was delicious, especially the enchiladas! Food came out quickly and the staff was nice. It was a cute little restaurant and the cat wandering around was an added bonus. A great food stop if you're in town!“
“Great food! Wow we were impressed. A lot of plate lunch spots can be so repetitive but this one stood out.We got one of everything and didn’t regret it.Got the kalbi ribs , chicken, pork belly(taste like an amazing pork chop) and mahi w/creamy sauce and capers. We asked to get everything a lil more browned and he did and it was so tasty. My family of four(who are picky) loved it…not picky cause they don’t like anything but picky cause we cook so good at home, we’re not easily impressed.Lots of love was put into the food. Marinated , browned, and good portions. The only critique is that the fish could’ve used a dash more of salt but I understand that when it comes to fish you don’t want to over season so u can taste the fish. But it was still cooked really well, fresh and did enjoy it.We also enjoyed the little bit of Kimchi that was added, nice touch. And I think it was grilled? The Mac salad was bomb and so was the saimin was better than the norm. Had a bit of smokiness.We needed up get everything if u go.But There were a couple tables there.This spot didn’t have many reviews so we were hesitant but we’re really glad we went and we hope more people start going and support this food truck. We loved it. We live on Oahu but if we lived on island this would be one of our go to spots. The owner was super nice , friendly and helpful.Thanks chef! ?“
