“Baked goods and breakfast galore! We had a huge cinnamon bun, breakfast sandwich, latte and iced coffee. All the baked goods looked delicious. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating.Parking: The lot is a good size, but it can be a challenge to get in and out of if traffic is heavy on the main road.“

“Visiting from California and stopped here for a treat. I got a slice of the blueberry pina colada pie and it was sooooo yummy!! Expensive, it’s $7 for a slice of pie, but it was a delicious special treat. My family also got the cheesecake and snickerdoodle cookie dough and they loved those as well.“

“This place is a staple for us to visit when we are in Kauai. They have some of the best pizza in Kauai. The atmosphere has a very down to earth local feeling. Service is great. Love the whole wheat crust and their dessert pizza is absolutely outstanding.“

“Great ambience with the koi pond and open, airy seating area. The truffle fries were alright, great portion size for 2 even 3-4 people splitting it. We both ordered the mahi mahi. There were not many vegetarian or shellfish-free options. Service was wonderful, and we loved the drink refills.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options (excluding salads)Dietary restrictions: Difficult for shellfish-free/kosher dietary restrictions.“

“Omg, the bowls were amazing. This place is literally a hole in the wall (there’s an order window, and that’s it) and the food is incredible! Best place I’ve been to in Kauai! Well worth stopping by, particularly if you’re looking for vegan options.“

“These are the bowls! Loved the hulk. Didn’t love the non-açaí bowls (except the hulk because it also had açaí) but that is likely a preference thing. The açaí bowls have an exceptional consistency. They are not icy or crunchy but instead very smooth. The toppings were fresh, generously portioned and very tasty. If you are looking for the place, just enter the grocery store and walk to the back. The juice bar will be on your left.“

“Best shaved ice on Kauai (we’ve tried a number)! Glad we found the new location, which is great. Quick drive from Poipu, much more outdoor seating and parking. There’s a couple other food trucks, some cute craft shops, and a bar backing right up to the forest.“

“Just a couple young girls running this place and doing an awesome job. Ordered the root beer float shave ice (scoop of vanilla ice cream). My husband ordered a cherry one (scoop of macadamia nut ice cream) with a white cap. They tasted so yummy. Service was great and with a smile.“

“A great little ice cream shop with delicious vegan options. While sorbet is not particularly appealing when what you want is ice cream, the sorbetto here is close enough to vegan ice cream that those who can’t eat dairy can have something as great as those who can. Both ice cream and sorbetto had tons of options and great toppings.“

“Delicious. And a big thank you for trying to be mindful of our waste impact on the ?& the island by using earth friendly packaging/utensils. I was looking everywhere for a great shave ice business that also believes in social responsibility. Mahalo! ❤️“

“JoJo's is a classic. Getting into this one is more difficult because the restaurant space is so small. They have additional covered seating nearby, but be warned, it is well loved by previous shave ice enthusiasts--it's sticky! Bring baby wipes or something for your hands and faces.“

“As always, everything was perfect. We went for Mothers Day Brunch and the food was great! Omelet station, chocolate fondue station and a BYO Waffle station, along with all the buffet options. Fish and prime rib were perfect! The waffles were in a warming dish and I was concerned they'd be soggy. They were not. Somehow they managed to have a little crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Lots of yummy toppings made for a perfect desert for us. Service was warm and friendly. All made for a very special day.“

“We ate here four times for breakfast while staying at a nearby resort- it’s that good! We pretty much had everything in the menu and it’s all delicious (the French toast was a stand out). Food is prepared very quickly with fresh, high quality ingredients. Portions are generous.“

“I really HATE sharing good places, only because it makes the line even longer, but these folks not only need a shoutout but another Crack. Phenomenal Mexican food for the Island. Quality eats, good price, great service with hard working folks. Mucho mahalos. Burritos, tacos, bowls all good“

“Phenomenal pie (it was a garlicky white devil) but one of the most unique and flavorful in a while, along with being a staff favorite. Mac and cheese was good but not excellent! Definitely would come back!! Also very affordable for portion size.“

“Delicious coffee and tea. Their building is a really cool historic building in keeping with the "old town" area. It has the most amazingly beautiful tree out front that canopies the entrance and part of their parking area. Relaxing vibe!“

“Amazing view, service, cocktails, and food! We’ve been here a couple times before and always loved the experience. Our server was very accommodating even with some guests particular entree adjustments. The tequila cocktail with ginger beer was phenomenal! 100% you need to visit if you are on the island??“

“Food:Possibly the best poke we've had. Went almost every other day while we were on south shore. Fantastic fish, perfect sauce blend that added to the fish without distracting from the flavor. Their poke does have romaine lettuce in it which I know some people aren't a fan of, so if you don't like it, just order it without it.Location:Nice clean little eating area. Decent parking right next to it, but plenty of parking nearby. Old Koloa Town has plenty of cool shops, so we frequently grab food at Big Monster, then grab ice cream nearby and walk around exploring.Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Couple of vegetarian options, but if you're vegan, why are you going to a sushi truck in the first place?Parking: Some spots right next to it, with plenty more a short walk down the block.“

“I’m writing this review 2 years after eating here because somehow I forgot to and I’m still thinking about the meal I had at Japanese Grandma’s Cafe. I had the Hamachi Kama which was amazing, but the strawberry cheesecake was mind blowing. I still think about it and now I just spent the last 2 days in Kyoto trying to find something that compares. It’s impossible! Someday if I ever get back to Kauai, Japanese Grandma’s will be one of the first places I go.“
“Phenomenal poke! Was told it was some of the best poke on the island and it lived up to the hype! I tried 3 versions and the avocado was my favorite but all were simply amazing! Arrive early as they often sell out. They are also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays“

“Wow this was the best poke bowl in Kauai. They had several different flavors, toppings, sides and a huge portion for the price. No wonder there was a line wrapped around the building. I highly recommend picking up and eating at the pool/beach.“

“We were on the island for over 2 weeks and came across this amazing restaurant. They have the best quality food and it's inexpensive. We ate there three times before we left the island it is our go-to on the island of Kauai. Absolutely the best bar none.“

“I had the mahi-mahi with asparagus and mashed potato potatoes I think. The fish was good, but it needed the sauce that the mahi came in, which was fantastic. Asparagus cooked perfection. I had a side salad which was actually surprisingly big but it’s just iceberg lettuce carrots nothing special. I’m not a big beer fan so I didn’t buy any beer so I can’t help you there.“

“The best açaí ive ever had!! This is definitely an island gem . Must try them out . It’s a local family operated place offering up the best fruit desserts n snacks . For refreshing and “not too sweet” desserts go check them out! I had the drango fruit bowl minus granola the owner was kind enough to sub it out with extra fruits ???? every bite was magical!“

“Absolutely ridiculously good ice cream - the ooey gooey pineapple cake flavor in particular is just toe-curlingly tasty, with real chunks of pineapple upside down cake mixed in. Soft and creamy and scrumptious - lots of fantastic and unusual flavors.“

“Our server, Tina, was wonderful. She took great care of us and made the entire evening fun. We were seated on the balcony so noise level was low and view beautiful. Food was back up to the standard of Merriman's of old. Delicious, fresh and attractively served. Good cocktails. We'll be back.“

“Best mahi mahi tacos I’ve had in a while. Their shrimp burrito was great too (tortilla was a bit oily but I think that’s a feature). Dirty rice and refried beans were incredible and tasted good. Went there right before closing time (around 2:30pm) post Waimea canyon trip. There was still a few people ahead of us ordering. Seating was a bit tight. Highly recommend this place if you are near the Waimea area.“

“I have never left a review for any restaurant but our incredible experience made me feel the need to dive into these foreign waters - even went to the extent of creating a Google account to do so:My wife and I had the most spectacular experience at La Spezia tonight during our honeymoon. The atmosphere, staff and food were all absolutely incredible (highly recommend the lasagna and special barrel buffalo trace (if available)). The owner was the friendliest guy we have ever encountered at a restaurant - he did everything in his capacity to make our experience special and did the same for those around us.11/10 would recommend and hope to have the luxury of coming back again one day!“
“This was exceptional. We all had a wonderful time and performance exceeded our expectations. Staff was wonderful! Kind and very organized from start to finish.Vegetarian options: The food could be better for vegetarians. The fresh fruit was delicious, as well as green salad and Pineapple upside down cake. Other items were noodles and vegetables ??“
“We've been to a LOT of luaus on Kauai and this is hands-down our favorite. They have the coolest pre-show activities, the best photographer, and some of the tastiest luau food we've ever had.I highly recommend splurging for the VIP tickets. You'll get the best seats, a special appetizer, and first crack at the buffet. The show is fantastic and quite enthralling. And the location is amazing. It's right next to the beach so you get the best sunset photos. If you're in the Poipu area, this is definitely the luau to book!Kid-friendliness: My 9yo LOVED this luau! He got to do all kinds of hands-on crafts before the show. And he really enjoyed all the food options.“

“Visited with a party of 8 for breakfast, a were seated in about a half hour. I personally had the Loco Mocco for the first time, it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Others in the group had the Banana and Macadamia nut pancakes and would also say that they are one of the best things they have had in a long time.“

“I had, BY FAR, the BEST smoothie I have ever had from here. It was a Hanalei Turmeric Colada with chia seeds and beet powder. It was so delicious and refreshing, I swear the vitamins and nutrients of the fresh ingredients invigorated me. This place was suggested to us by a local which is always a good sign. The staff were so friendly and nice and the location is great. I strongly recommend this place when in town!“

“The breakfast buffet was incredible. Everything I had was delicious. I started with eggs benedict, pork hash, frittata and bacon. All were incredible fresh, warm and beyond delicious. The bacon was some of the best I’ve ever had. I fished with two plates of pancakes and French toast topped with whipped butter, toasted coconut, chopped macadamias and warm coconut syrup. It was to die for. They have a small bar with various concentrated juice shots. I had the carrot/cantaloupe/ginger and the green apple/celery/kale. They were both like shots of energy and very, very good. Our server, Jean was so friendly and helpful not only with food suggestions but places to visit on the island, a truly great server. It is well worth the price and we might go back tomorrow because it was so good. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry. I highly recommend it.“
