“We just enjoyed a delightful dinner that was too tasty for us to stop and take a picture. We had the teriyaki chicken and the grilled ahi. The service was over the top and the patio was perfect. Thank you! You have fans from Texas!”

“I only give 4 stars because 4.5 was not an option. We did the full experience- grotto tour, garden walk, then luau. Well worth the money. We went with another couple who’ve done other luaus and they said this one exceeded the previous ones in every way. First the fern grotto boat tour. Very kid friendly, very beautiful. The small walk to fern grotto is very low impact and easy for all people able to ambulate. However, so many bugs and bug bites do bring bug spray!!! We used bug spray and still got a bite or 2 but our friend did not and was eaten alive. Next, entered luau for garden walk. Was given a shell lei and photos were taken for purchase. Then they offered the garden walk as a tram tour. It was cute and knowledgeable. But definitely rewalk it at your own pace after. 10min paved easy walk around the garden including the areas where luau is performed etc. they open the luau with a ceremony where they pull the large pig that was roasting underground out onto a platform so it can be served for dinner. Very neat. Then dinner is served buffet style. Very well labeled food ingredients that will include allergens , if any, for each food. Easy to navigate for food allergy families like us. GF options. 1 item contained shellfish. No nuts at all. They did some hula dancing while eating then we migrated over for the real show. It was very in depth, very informative and very well executed. I was sooo impressed.”

“Went to hukilau for 37th wedding anniversary. Oct 15. Was dying for prime rib. Didn’t care about price I wanted Prime rib so so bad. All we get here on Kauai is choice. There is no fat in the meat no marbling and you can’t cut it with a fork. You have to slice every bite. That is choice. And if you’re good with that. Then the rib is great. It was cooked perfectly. But I wanted the prime rib. Prime has fat all thru it and so tender the meat falls apart. Little pieces of fat around the edges and you can see the marbling in the center. I actually asked the waitress what was on my plate (which I have never ever done before) and she said it was prime she even went to the chef to check. He too said it was prime. I have cooked a lot of prime rib in my lifetime so I feel like I know what talking about but I felt like I was being blown off like an unknowing tourist. All I know is that my meat did not look anything like what is in the photo of their prime rib on the website with photos of their menu. Love this place otherwise. Been going there for 30 years. Incredibly nice waithelp and an incredible view for a romantic evening.”

“A local secret. Yes they are at the markets but they bake in a little side street behind kuhio highway. If you go through the little door in a non descript wall ( after having woven your way through the cars waiting at the safety test centre) you will be rewarded by sweet treats galore! Do not miss the chocolate banana, the pear and fig or the Portuguese sausage croissants. Haole girl will have tou howlin' for more”

“Great local roaster that knows how to roast to bring out the natural varietal profile. This was our go to morning cup everyday while vacationing in Kauai. You can get any bean on the menu as a pour over. It was my first time trying coffees from Thailand and India. The baristas know how to pull an espresso shot. Nice crema and rich flavor. Not knocking the iconic Kauai Coffee, but if you like coffee that's roasted to bring out flavor profiles natural to the bean, Imua is the place for you. ☕”

It was a surprise to find out Grammy nominated Leilani Rivera Low would be leading the show, learning about her father and family history. Very interesting and she was a talented singer. “One of the best Garlic Shrimp place on the island so far (we tried 8 others prior). Large shrimps (around 5 pieces) with shell on, head on. Comes hot, spicy, and garlicy. Friendly owner Nd quick service. Not too many shades to sit when it gets crowded.”

“We were in Kauai for 3 days and on our first night here, we decided to try Coconut Thai & Chinese Cuisine. We liked it so much that we decided to come back the second night.
And how could we end our trip in Kauai without eating there for our last diner. So here we are for the third time in a row. And we are not disappointed at all. We loved everything that we had here. We tried the padthai, the coconut curry, the Pan Fried Lo Mein and the Fresh Kauai Shrimp. It was EXCELLENT. We truly recommend this place. The waiter Silo is so nice and the food so good.
If one day we have the opportunity to come back in Kauai, we will be back at Coconut Thai & Chinese Cuisine ! Thanks again Silo 🫶🏽”

“This is helpful when you are in a pinch but you pay for the convenience. To go food is disappointing compared to other nearby options. Don't order the boneless ribs, it's actually 2 strips of flank steak reheated on a flat top, not the same thing! Sushi Shiono makes good grab n go sushi and the Wine bar has some great options, for late night too.”

Cool to see they’re still making really good food in this tiny shop off the main road. Note that they have a menu that’s bigger than what’s up on the big board. Try the meat jun.”

We ordered bigger plate of chowmein, fried rice, Beijing beef, black pepper chicken with watermelon mango refresher. The prices in Hawaii are definitely more than other states for same chain.”
