“I had the BEST French Dip sandwich I have ever had right in Grinnell, Iowa at the Frontier Cafe !! It had the perfect Au Jus, and that is very important to having a wonderful French Dip . It had great tasting sliced roast beef a perfect hoagie bun. Mine had mushrooms onions provolone cheese cooked to perfection!! It's a spacious restaurant and I love the service and the perfect diner interior.If you are ever close to Grinnell stop in and enjoy their many wide ranging menu items from breakfast to dinner . I believe you will enjoy it!!”

“We have always enjoyed stopping by for a good craft beer. Nice selection of beers for all tastes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Grinnell Craft Brewhouse is a mandatory stop when passing thru town.”

“I-80 Dhaba is an unexpected surprise. Modeled after roadside stops in India, they serve all-veg tandoori options as well as vegetables and dumplings in delicious gravies and excellent, thin, and crispy naan.”

“El Cascabel is the best Mexican food in Grinnell. The have a variety of dishes. Their menu has a mix of vegetarian, beef, chicken, pork, and seafood options. There are also several options for beverages. The horchata is my favorite but it seperates quickly so make sure to drink it fast.

The service is good and the staff is attentive. The chips are delicious, but the salsa is nothing fancy. I always ask for the to bring me a spicer salsa and mix it in with the first salsa.

Lastly, El Cascabel is right next to a perpendicular railroad intersection. The first one I have ever see. It is quite the experience when a train goes by especially if you are seated at the Southeast corner of the restaurant.

“The owner does a wonderful job of running this business, making sure people are having a relaxing time/atmosphere. The people who go here were just here for a fun and relaxing time as well. It's nice to be able to have a place to socialize which is safe! We hung out and played pool, hung out with the bar's cat, and met a family. It was nice to see people out, socializing, together.”

“My nephew was visiting Grinnell from Philadelphia, so we were scoping out places for him to visit while he was in town. I came across Grin City Bakery, more importantly this glorious photo of a Blueberry Fritter Loaf. After which I gave him clear instructions: I don't want a t-shirt, I don't want a sweatshirt, I don't want a hat. Bring me back a blueberry fritter loaf. I got it two days after he purchased it, and it still tasted fresh & heavenly. From what I gather, everything the bakery has to offer is worth stopping in on visits to the college. Keep doing what you are doing.”

“I've never been to the Dari Barn until today. The service was amazing, friendless service ever! We ordered the barn burger and pig pen fries. Pig pen fries are a meal of themselves. The food was Extraordinary. Bit pricey, but where isn't these days! I will Definitely go there again when I'm in the area.”

“Pleasant atmosphere. I was there during Halloween time and they had costume contests. The music of the 80s and 90s is lively but without stridency. They have a live DJ and several screens”

“Visited on 12/9/23 between 3:45-4pm. Had the $2 value meal beef burritos (2x) along with an potato ole. The ole's never disappoint but the burritos were limp... hardly much meat in them.”

“Extremely positive interaction with the staff and manager here. I arrived only minutes before closing, and with most things in town closed there were few options to eat that night. They not only accepted my order, but were legitimately happy to get me food. The pizza was fast and looked/tasted amazing. Great work PizzaRanch! Nice to know great customer service and good people still exist.”
