“Quite the experience like stepping back in time ! The staff was engaging and took care of us quickly. The counter was full with plenty of walk in customers as well during a Saturday lunch time. Amazed at how fast the ladies churned out the orders. The bowl option is great if you want low carb the rest of my group loved the buns. All malts were delicious and consumed happily. The crew all looked like they were having fun and were fueled by good old fashioned Cokes. The pies ordered by a couple next to me were awesome and in their words delicious. Highly recommend going with an appetite & savor as much as you can. Only wish I had pictures to post.“

“This place is unbelievably so so good. I have tried most of the food they have on their menu and every single time! It's such an amazing taste. I can't believe how many times I think about their food throughout the day, constantly waiting for them to open. When I'm hungry this restaurant comes to mind as my first choice to go to. “This is easily the best Mexican restaurant in Ottumwa, if not the best I’ve ever been to. In the dozens of times I’ve come here over the years, not once has a single aspect of the experience been disappointing. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, the prices are affordable, the restaurant is clean and the staff are amazing— they work super hard and all deserve a raise! I highly recommend Potros to anybody who wants a fantastic meal at a reasonable price.“

“These are the best tacos in Ottumwa. The homemade salsas and perfectly cooked meats make these wonderful. Very delicious!! Service is quick and efficient. More than passable. I've got to try more things on the menu. They have many different kinds of meats like chicken, asada, pork al pastor, lengua. The server went right to the favorite, asada, and I had to clarify that I wanted something different. Its okay. I look like a guy who would order asada. I always ask. I would suggest a better menu that fits what is on the menu. All the meats available would be great. Ambiance is typical taqueria decor, but most people coming here are really looking for the great food. It's clean and well lit. You know you are in a great taqueria when the language being spoken predominantly is Spanish. I love this place.“

“Delivered to me in my semi truck while held up at a nearby shipper/receiver. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, which probably had a pound or more of meat on it, and the firecracker fries. The fries were more like sliced baked potato than french fries, but everything was good, delivery was fast and more than enough food. Sure beats the cold turkey sandwiches and potato chips I eat most of the time. Thanks!“
