“Chef Travis is an amazing cook by far! We went once and he was sold out of the birria tacos, stopped by last night to catch the and ended up getting a special for the bourbon chicken he had. The sauce was so flavorful and the chicken was so tender. He shows us such great hospitality & is an amazing cook. We will continue to support him and his journey as long as we see that big space ship down there! 🤍🤍”

“Just WOW!!! We had the Traditional Gumbo and Pork Jambalaya today. FANTASTIC dishes both!!! We fell in love with the food in N.O. years ago and have been searching in IL for something even close. This place hits!!! 🔥🔥🔥 The pork Jambalaya had a pulled pork that was melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned goodness. And the gumbo....most of the time, I leave the "gravy" because most times its meh. This one was perfect and had just the right amount of heat. Will definitely be back soon!!!”

“My wife and I, our niece and her boyfriend went to Joe K’s for brunch on Saturday, February 14th at 11 am. It’s a popular time so we had a short wait (10 minutes). Our server, Renee, was very friendly and efficient. Food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious.”

“Their loaded potatoe soup is more like a loaded mash rather than a soup, although really yummy. I wanted to order a sandwich but noticed the sandwich assembly station from the register and noticed the kitchen staff wearing no gloved making sandwiches. I would fix this just to instill a better idea of cleanliness.
My first time coming the staff were extremely rude and rushed us to order with an empty restaurant. This time was slightly better.”

“my 4yr old grandson and I go there as often as we can. Great service and great food. Definitely beats McDonald's were he usually wants to go. He eats biscuits and gravy sausage links and fried potatoes there. when before we went there he wouldn't eat anything but McDonald's. so glad to have this place to go to. “As a representative of the Hispanic community of all of St. Louis, I give my stamp of approval to their chorizo burrito. The flavors were wonderful and it had a bit of a spice kick to it (Mexicans love that!) The coffee was delicious! I give it 5 out 5 green cards. 👏🏽”

“Chubby's grill and garage is a wonderful place to grab a big juicy burger, fries, and appetizers. Great food specials weekly, as well as drink specials. It is family friendly. The staff are all super friendly people. The owner is a stand up guy, and you can tell he really cares about his customers and he treats his employees with love and respect like any great owner would. I would HIGHLY reccomend this place to ANYONE looking to have some great food, drinks, and fun. The hours are 11am to 11pm, kitchen is 11am to 10pm. this place is an absolute gem 💎.”

“Old Bakery Brewing absolutely delivered. It was super busy because of Eagle Fest, but the service was still fantastic—friendly, efficient, and on top of everything. The food was excellent, and the beer was, as always, great.

I had the birria grilled cheese and it was phenomenal—rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best things I’ve had there. Even with the crowds, the staff handled everything smoothly, which really says a lot.

This place continues to be one of my favorite spots in Alton. Great beer, great food, and great people. Highly recommend.”

“What a great experience. Our server was so great. And the food...... We started off with potstickers and they were spot on. The Caesar salad was very good (but it was a Caesar salad, so not too hard to get right). My tuna was cooked to perfection and had the most amazing seasoning. My wife was crazy about her Grilled Chicken Pasta. There was too much for her to eat, so we took it home and out son raved about how good it was. The warm gooey butter cake for dessert was sinful. We each had a couple adult drinks and they were excellent and pretty potent, definately not watered down. It was quiet and the lighting was, what I would call classy. Not bright, but not dark. We will 100% be coming back.”

“Celebrated a friend’s birthday and the evening could not have been better! Our server, Rose did a fabulous job. 4 out of 5 of us had never dined here before and Rose was so helpful with her recommendations from the menu. We started with a couple appetizers, toasted artichoke hearts and stuffed mushrooms. Both apps were very good. My pepperloin with a side of blue cheese and bacon potatoes was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. Tony’s is a great place for a special occasion or a date night. We will definitely be back!”

“This is a perfect good ol'tavern. Exactly what I like if I go to have a drink. Bartender s are great, atmosphere is fun and friendly, it's a cheers for the motorcycle club and friends. Always a good time. Sam and Woody are not serving you it Missy, Michelle, or as they call Cheyenne " the new girl" you can't go wrong with any of the three. And if you are lucky enough to run into Elliot or some other regular faces, you have a great day ahead!”

“I've stopped in here a few times since I live just down the road from it. The times I've gone in, it wasn't too busy, but they tell me they have a good time on a Saturday night. It's really not your best bet if you want food. They serve your basic frozen pizzas and the like, but nothing remarkable. Sammi's Subs, next door, is another story though. EXCELLENT sandwiches (but they aren't open late). Like another reviewer said, I think Norb's is a great dive-bar with some pool tables and darts. Probably the most fun if you bring a friend or two, and preferably ones who like to play pool or darts. I believe they were cash only at the bar, and they didn't really have a lot of drink specials when I went. So bring cash.”

“Hong Kong House - How Happy I am to have you opened again! The ONLY Chinese Restaurant in the Alton area that serves REAL Chinese Veggies in their meals - NOT frozen peas, carrots, & corn. I ordered the Veggie Fried Rice - served with thinly sliced carrots, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, baby corn, and bamboo shoots just to name a few. We also had Hunan Chicken Combo Plate with Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon - Yummy. Again lots or real fresh veggies without being over loaded with huge chunks of onion. Love Love Love the food here”
