“We were in attendance for Monthly Girlfriend luncheon. Only 1 of us 4 had visited Hendel's in the distant past and she chose the restaurant. You don't see a lot of truly warm and cozy restaurants nestled within the neighborhood that's prospered. The food was good and service was excellent and as we have visited restaurants month after months, it's obvious that cooks aren't same. There is space for indoor & outdoor eating with limited parking. Nice afternoon luncheon experience ?Parking: Free parking in rear where u have a short walk from vehicle into establishment, but if full being that it's sitting in residential area, one can park on side street, no meters, & without inconveniencing residents.Kid-friendliness: Kids were running around where we sat indoors but no one seemed disturbed by their antics ?”

“I ordered tonight for carry out and there was a small hiccup (no biggie) with our order they called right away to fix it. Picked up our meatball sub, a Naples pizza, a create your own, and garlic bread. This food was delicious, I’ve never had such a amazing white pizza (no red sauce) in my life. The meatballs were so tender and my picky kid ate all but one! The garlic cheese bread didn’t last long here it’s as good as home made (maybe better). We will definitely return and recommend. I hope next time we can dine it, from what I saw they have a pretty large dining room that can accommodate a nice crowd. The employees were incredibly friendly and warm. “I was in town for the tenth anniversary of the brewery Side Project. However, I also wanted to check out the craft beer scene in St. Louis in general and read that this place served a lot of Narrow Gauge beers from their brewery next door. I got four of their beers and they were all great, especially the mild which was amazing and probably one of the best milds that I've ever had and they absolutely nailed it. It is a style that you don't often see outside of the UK either. I also got some food too. I had the chicken wings first and they were nothing special. Next I got the stuffed meatballs and they were absolutely divine. Service was good too and friendly.”

I suggest calling early on the weekends, because it can be a long wait (but it is SO worth it). More toppings than you can imagine, and the recipe hasn’t changed with the new owners (no matter what any of these neigh-sayers say! Would also like to commend the two ladies who were working last Saturday. There was a very rude guy complaining about the time it was taking, but he showed up an hour early. So it seemed to us that it was his fault. He threw a fit in the dining room and there were people dining in!!! He was so rude. I was happy the owner came out and told him to calm down. “Now THIS is what I'm talking about!! Reasonable prices, solid portions, delicious food. Their crab rangoon is on the sweeter side, and each piece is thoroughly stuffed with filling. Their steamed dumplings are the best I've had in the Lou, and only second to Wo Hop in NYC! They probably aren't house made, but still, they tasted great and were perfectly steamed--not rubbery, not mushy, not soggy, not gummy, not dry. 10 for $8 is almost cheaper than getting a bag from your freezer section. Most restaurants would charge that price for 5. Their hot and sour soup hit the spot, too. It was a *little* underwhelming, but it had plenty of fillings and was still all around delicious.Absolutely fantastic. I'll definitely eat here again.Oh, I almost forgot--their house-made dumpling sauce is the best I've ever had!”

I was disappointed that I was not allowed to reschedule due to illness, and there was no policy that I saw about rescheduling .I asked if I could reschedule and was told that ," the chef has already prepared the food and that I could come pick up the food and leave since I was not feeling well ." I think the point was missed in that offer , because for $50 and such a beautiful establishment I wanted the experience not just the food. I wanted to sit in the place with my friends and enjoy the ambience. I understand that the chef did not want to waste food and time; but again, there was no policy about rescheduling there is a policy about cancellation. I ended up leaving early because I felt awful .”

I went in and asked for Mei Fun and was so delighted when the person taking my order offered Singapore noodles instead! It was so good! “This is a great little hole in the wall but amazing Chinese restaurant! I stumbled upon it while having a craving for Hot & Sour soup. The location is easy to get to off Lindbergh. I was amazing how many locals were inside ordering food and taking it to go. It seems to be mostly a to go spot. I was given some recommendations right there from some of their most loyal customers. Hands down their general tso chicken was indeed great. And the soup I craved didn’t disappoint! I’ll be back.”

After getting home from our trip to the farmers market I opened the still warm sweet potato tamales eager to dig in. But to my disappointment it was so spicy that I had to spit it out and put out the fire in my mouth with ice tea. I love your tamales, and in the past the only one I could eat was the sweet potato tamale. And I am fully aware that the degree of hot spices a person can handle is on a person by person basis. But I would suggest that you should be able to make a tamale that tastes like a tamale, but without the hot spices for those of us who cannot handle heat in the slightest. I have no idea what has changed in your recipe for the sweet potato tamale recipe, but whatever it is it has convinced me not to return for anymore in the future. That was the last remaining tamale I could eat. And I'm sure that I am not the only one this has happened to. Good luck with your business. And thanks for the past tamales. And the 2 I couldn't eat went to my daughter's family. They love hot stuff.”

“Have been several times with friends in the last few months after a long (17 years or so) hiatus after a bad experience. Food has been good and the service excellent, and they are very accommodating with working seating to fit several wheelchairs/other mobility devices together.Wheelchair accessibility: They were great about setting up the seating with multiple mobility devices (six of us, with 2 chairs, a walker and 3 ambulatory). Restroom had a nice accessible stall.”

“Ashley S has always been my favorite worker at this store. She’s so helpful in explaining what’s in every smoothie. I’ve never had a problem at this store. She actually stands up for her employees and loves them with all her heart. I can tell in her demenor. Night shift is also very dependable. The kids are fast and great at what they do. But Ashley S by far is the best employee there. Consider her a raise. She does her job to the fullest with the biggest smile on her face and always always always very very polite. Helping other employees and other customers in the store. Also trying to upsell the merchandise. I always buy something from them everytime I go in.”
