“No photos of the food. I tend to always enjoy the environment. Nonetheless this was my first time visit to an African restaurant as I look to explore different foods. The hospitality was great! We were greeted right away and since the place wasn't packed, we sat wherever was open. Food was good. I had lamb and shrimp with fufu. Overall the experience was good. I would go back just for the service.“
“It’s about time Chicago gets solid West African cuisine. Dozzy didn’t disappoint. Had the Designer Jollof Rice Bowl and it was delicious. I combined it with a couple orders of the shrimp suya sticks which put it over the top. Now, I loved the jollof, but that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the shrimp. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The herbs were perfect and it was grilled just the way I like it. I’ve known Dozzy for a long time and I’m so happy he’s sharing his gift to the world. Y’all get some.“
“Vegan and non-vegan options. The place isn’t big, but it’s cozy. It feels like your at your close friends home and they treat you like family. Went with my vegan wife and my two sons. We all loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s a hidden gem. The food was insane. First time trying African cuisine but won’t be our last.“
“Look I'm not a super adventurous foodie. I live a block south and ride my bike past every day. It's always packed with taxi cabs. So I knew that was a good sign. I was apprehensive but the moment I asked one of the cabbies standing out front a question he insisted that I should try the food and I instantly felt welcomed. Everyone was so nice and the food was amazing. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. Maybe a bit spicier next time.“
“I was brought back to my childhood favor food, delicious and amazing. And the taste was the same. Like it's name the garden, it is really a place where you are transported in memories through a good service and a great atmosphere. Words don't make justice to that place go see for yourself.“
“The Egusi was so good. Me and hubby went. Let me tell yall it was amazing. Service was good. The owner was patient and kind to explain the drinks. We also had the meat pies. They were very good and flavorful and homemade. The Egusi is spicy so maybe ask for no Scotch pepper but I enjoyed it very much. 10 out of 10 for me. It was smelling so good that I just dug in without taking a picture. Them folks know flavor frfrWheelchair accessibility: Its spacious and doesn't have a step up so a wheelchair would easily fit through“
“So good! We had breakfast here and specified vegan/vegetarian. The dish with beans (foul?) and the vegetable dish were both amazing. The bread was thin like injera bread but different, a little sweeter,The staff person also brought us some oatmeal and spinach to try and that was great, too.“
“This place offers you the rare opportunity to taste Ghanian food. Some dishes are very spicy so be careful. I highly recommend anything with plantains. The only reason I gave it fewer stars is that they don't have prices on the menu and I kinda suspect they just pick a number based on how you look. I had an appetizer that cost the same as an entree and was definitely overpriced. But, it was all delicious!“
“There are a few tables here, but most people I saw order for takeout. Once upon a time, during the pandemic in August 2020, my best friend and I ordered here. We reallyliked the food. I went back inDecember 2023 after her memorial service & the food is still yummy. If I remember correctly, I ordered the goat and rice dish both times. Hugeservings. I made at least 2 meals out of my 1 order.Rest in Peace, dearest Ai (1981-2023).“
“I had the Jollof rice with two meats. I found the meal to be very tasty. The chichen was a little dry but the beef was really good. I had the plantains also but didn't realize that they were a separate price only because they were offered with the mael. Overall the meal was really good ?“
