“What a great place to eat!!! Today was our first day to visit Diamond’s but definitely not our last!! Everything ran smoothly like clockwork and it was busy busy busy. We were seated promptly, had drinks served within minutes. Order placed and our server was FANTASTIC!! She said she’s worked there for 17 years, that speaks volumes about management. Our meals (spaghetti and all you can eat catfish) were delicious!“
“I come here once every month and our waitress is always very sweet, I love her and if you come on a day she's made cupcakes buy one! They're delicious and she undersells herself so tip her well! The hell they have there is also very nice, love the people, very cozy atmosphere and the food is always hot and delicious!Parking: Large parking lot, usually openKid-friendliness: Lots of menu items kids will like, juke boxes and pool tables as well“
“One of the better breakfast spots in town. I love the pancakes or biscuits and gravy. Portions sizes are large so you get what you pay for. They have a large open area so you don't feel like you are crowded. Staff have always been friendly and the service is quick. Great diner to eat in!“
“I'm a big fan of hamburgers, and this place not only didn't disappoint, it was super impressive. The Pulled Pork sandwich was fantastic and Ribs Banjo were Tasty. I was here on business and my hotel was close by, but I also ate here twice. Super good and I'll be back again!“
“This is my favorite place to eat in Decatur! I’ve eaten here many times and every time, the menu is just full of total bangers. Like every single thing I’ve had here is amazing. I have dreams about the butter board appetizer. I haven’t had one thing from here that I didn’t like. 10/10 would totally recommend.“
“We ate here around 7:30 am I had the biscuits and gravy and some cottage potatoe best breakfast I've had will come here again they made us feel like we knew them for ever best environment to be in love the staffKid-friendliness: They loved us and our children like we knew them for years first time being in there will come back“
“In a city not known for culinary excellence, the Gin Mill is the exception. Had a delightful pork chop dinner recently. The decor with its high ceilings and beautiful bar is way above average. Slight complaint was caesar salad dressing was rather excessive and mediocre. Service was attentive, perhaps a little too much so. Given the local alternatives, I would go back in a minute.“
“We took our daughter and grandson here a couple weeks ago for an early dinner and our server was amazing and very friendly. My daughter and I both had the taco salad that was on special and it was so big we could have shared one and still had left overs. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and white gravy. The tenderloin was as large as the plate. The gravy however was not a white gravy but instead sausage gravy. I’m not a chef but I do know the difference between white gravy and sausage gravy. Who wants sausage in their mashed potatoes that’s served with pork tenderloin? Lol.They have their regulars who sit either at the counter or share a large table and I’m sure talk for a hour or so daily, that tells me the rest of the food must be decent. I was not impressed with paying almost $60 for three adult meals and a child’s meal but nowadays it’s to be expected I guess. If you haven’t tried them I suggest you go and see what you think. Very clean tables and floors.Parking: Handicap parking available and plenty of other spotsKid-friendliness: Nice child menu selection, high chairs available if needed, lids for drinks when requested.“
“Super friendly staff, family owned business. Food was delicious!! I really liked the cream of tomato florentino soup and the escargot. Friday specials can be found on Facebook. Highly recommend. Ambience is good, not too loud; great for dinner conversation. Bartender Ryan was really great!“
“Standard dive bar with good food. Mainly an older quiet crowd. It gets younger on nights/weekends. Dinner for 2 with couple beers and couple rum/cokes will run $40 to $60 before tipKid-friendliness: Kids welcome anytime kitchen is open(closes at 9)“
“Who says you have to leave Decatur to find great food?Downtown has some nice spots including Taproot on Merchant.Check out their 8oz filet mignon! Delicious..and the hearty Chicken Primavera soup is also quite good..... except for the overabundance of PEAS!! Lol...like a third grader, I had to pick those babies out so that I could enjoy the rest of the soup! Thanks for the great service Jim and Allie !Cmon back to downtown Decatur for an evening out!...“
“My 1st time here. (I'm not from Decatur). Loved it! Great atmosphere, clean, polite staff, and the food was delicious. (I love your chili too!) Prices are reasonable. It was an all around great new experience for me and I will be bringing new customers back. See you soon!“
“When we visit family in Decatur we always plan a dinner at The Wagon. We love the casual atmosphere and love the food & drinks. Love the fried chicken, green beans & mashed potatoes. The mushroom appetizers are absolutely amazing. Service is usually exceptional also.“
“This was our second time visiting, and it was just as satisfying as the first time! My husband and I only had evening drinks . The bartender was friendly, and she smiled a lot, and even though it was a busy Friday night, she did a great job of making us feel welcome! The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. It was a good vibe! I saw families enjoying dinner options, groups of people enjoying after work drinks, customers picking up take out orders. I highly recommend visiting .“
“We held a work party in the back room. The weather was great so we were able to open the doors in the back and be outside. The food was amazing, pricing was very reasonable for the amount of people we had, and the touch tunes machine in the back room was great for music.“
“If you like Fried Fish...I recommend the Fish Dinner (served on Fridays)...the fish, I believe is cod and very flaky...the Corn Meal crust is to 'die for'....because it is crunchy and flavorful. It is not soggy like some places I visit...and the recipe? a 75-year old (family secret) recipe.“
“Very welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Our sitting accommodations were met quickly. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks on the menu. Usually, water is the only beverage I prefer, but the Cherry lemonade is a hit! The meal in the picture is lightly seasoned broccli, baked sweet potato with a marshmallow on top, followed by a seasoned to perfection, fried chicken breast. The second meal was fried catfish, fresh green beans, and delicious potatoes! I had heard terrible things about this establishment and didn't experience any of the bad things I've heard. I will be back to try other dishes and recommend this establishment during lunchtime.“
“We bought the RoadHouse Bowl and The Alfredo Pasta Bowl and it was honestly the best place I've been to in a long time. We came here by accident, this was a last minute choice and I am so glad our first one fell through. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and kind. It's been a long time since I've seen such GENUINE customer service. It's a fast food under rated atmosphere, with the food quality close to fine dining. The food came out in less than five minutes. We will definitely be coming back, even though we live forty miles away I will not hesitate to pass up a chance to come dine here again. Wow!“
