“Friend and I were driving from Grinnell, Iowa to Oak Park, Illinois and wanted to stop someplace about halfway for a quick dinner. I saw this place and that it was well rated. We were quite happy to find it.Informal, relatively small place filled with very welcoming locals. The kind of place where you’d tell a friend that you’ll be hanging out one evening so they should stop by for a drink.Typical bar / pub food. Few items appeared to be made from scratch, as evidenced by the box of Hamburger Helper near the bathrooms. But people who come here aren’t coming for fine dining. They’re coming for well-priced, comfort food items and, more importantly, a fun, laid back, social atmosphere.I had shared fried pickles and mushrooms for starters and a grilled chicken with tots. Mmmm.I would definitely come back.“
“Food was delicious, it didn't take long from when we ordered to get our food. Culver's delivers the food right to your table.Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking up front of doors and there are tables you can move a chair for a wheelchair to sit at.“
“I just deleted my last review. I HIGHLY recommend D.Q again. The new manager Anita is awesome! Right when we walked in we were greeted! We had such a great experience! The whole staff has a MUCH better attitude. Working in food myself I know we are there for our guests and this is very clear here now. We will be back weekly again because of Anita. Thank you again for being so nice and friendly and even recommending upgrading our meals which we woukd have never done before because we were never offered. The chili cheese fries are amazing! And HUGE! Didnt even know y'all had them until today. Anita is by far the best manager this place has ever seen. I know because my daughters great grand parents started D.Q. back in the day.“
“Food was way too expensive for what I received. Egg had no taste. This place has biscuits, but no butter to give out to customers? Person on register was not friendly or helpful, but a teammate of hers was. Perhaps she's new? One can hope.Parking: Space to park around the side of the building, as if you are going through drive thru. Otherwise, there is a small lot beside/ behind that is easily accessible.“
“So this visit had to do soley about the upbeat patuent and helpful class of workers this restaurant has.... we pull through the drive thru and place our order, we get to the window to pay for our food and my buddy hands the lady his link card. I totally figured this lady would come unglued and flip her lid but with a smile she graciously took the card and ran it only to be declined. .. she was very friendly and a great sport. So we paid for o ur food and went about our way ..... the food was fresh ,tasty and looked like it would in a comersial. Nice job yall.“
“Food was really good, came out really quickly. Employees, especially the cashier whose name I cannot remember, we're extremely nice, even going as far as to ask if I needed help with my trays. The lobby was extremely clean. I will definitely be going back there anytime I am in town.“
“Been eating at this place since a kid and it brings life to the Nelson locals, the staff is friendly and treats everyone like family, the owner is always in the establishment always checking in on everyone as well as making sure everyone walks out with a smile, I’ve seen negative reviews and I can say with confidence the people leaving negative reviews are not being honest, you get fresh quality food for a very fair price, this place gets packed sometimes so the wait is a little longer then people expect but everything is being made fresh to order, I have some issues with my orders that have been happening more frequently like my fries being soggy and undercooked or my chicken being tuff and overcooked but it’s not very common but still disappointing other then that I have nothing to complain about, come in with patience and a empty stomach and leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face“
“A friend recommended the burgers here and said there was outdoor seating, so since it was a beautiful Friday evening, we decided to give it a try. This little casual place is right along the Rock River out in the middle of the countryside. The gravel parking was plentiful but chaotic. There is also a boat dock if you want to.This is a cash only establishment, we did not know this when we decided to go, but luckily, it wasn't a problem for us this evening. There was live music being played with several people dancing to it.As I mentioned, you may dine inside or outside on the patio under umbrellas at picnic tables. We were unclear if you ordered at the table or inside, but eventually, a waitress came out and said you could order at the table or order inside, and they would bring it out. Our server was outstanding. She had many tables and did fantastic making sure everyone was well taken care of.The menu was pretty varied, and everything that was ordered at our table was enjoyed by those who ordered it. We started with drinks and an appetizer platter, they were both very good. The burger was very good and served with your choice of toppings and sides. we ordered the fresh fruit, and it didn't disappoint as it was fresh and cold. Someone ordered a chicken wrap. It was very good with unique flavors. We ordered the beef taco salad and it didn't disappoint. We will definitely go back and try a couple of the other things on the menu.“
“Don't live here. Game was on. What to do? Chose Lil' Smoked because of the near perfect score. It's well deserved.Had shift change bartenders, beer, bloody Mary and wings. Bartender rocked. Wish I remembered her name. I'd give her some review love. Infectious smile. No volume on the TV's but all on the game. Beer was cold. So was the glass I ask for. Bloody was a 3 on taste 4 on presentation. Bartender 2 immediately added tobasco, lemon and Vodka upon request. No cracked pepper :(Wings were excellent. Sauces all fantastic. I'd really like to try more of their menu. You can always tell when a kitchen cares.Five star kitchen and bartenders. Small ding on the drinks. Highly reccomend.“
