“The Loop has the absolute BEST SANDWICH in North West Illinois. There isn’t a bad option when it comes to the greatness being served up from Linda’s kitchen. While some may think of this hidden gem as just a dive bar that serves good sandwiches; I think of it as a fine dining establishment that just so happens to be in a dive bar.“

“Read about this place on one of the pursuing pork tenderloin Facebook groups. While the tenderloin was more like a battered pork chop sandwich, not my favorite but my guy really enjoyed it, the hand battered buffalo cauliflower was to die for. It was large pieces in delicious crunch batter and served with ranch. That was my favorite!“

“Wonderful place from the owners of Candlelight. They offer the ubiquitous Chicken George with yummy Jan’s sauce. We were served mini cornbread muffins on the table upon arrival. Wonderful. We ordered Burnt Ends as an appetizer. They were so great. I ordered the Chicken Southwest bowl. It smelled divine and was very filling. My wife ordered the Pub Burger and fries. She said the burger was okay but the fries were delicious. My sister had the Brisket Philly sandwich and said it was slightly above average. My parents both got Chicken George. My mom had garlic mashed potatoes and my dad fries. Both thumbs up. I’d say it’s worth a stop and ask for Kim to be your waitress. She’s phenomenal!“

“First timers, we wanted to try it out. Atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The 2 ladies working the bar also waited on the tables. One more person could have helped. The food was good but you will wait a while, so don't be in a hurry. We ordered a pretzel (didn't get) but someone next to us did and it looked good and it is big, perfect for a group. Burgers seemed to be premade patties but taste good. Sweet potato fries are tasty. We may go again. They do charge 3% on credit card. A bill for the 4 was $100.“

“Been eating at this place since a kid and it brings life to the Nelson locals, the staff is friendly and treats everyone like family, the owner is always in the establishment always checking in on everyone as well as making sure everyone walks out with a smile, I’ve seen negative reviews and I can say with confidence the people leaving negative reviews are not being honest, you get fresh quality food for a very fair price, this place gets packed sometimes so the wait is a little longer then people expect but everything is being made fresh to order, I have some issues with my orders that have been happening more frequently like my fries being soggy and undercooked or my chicken being tuff and overcooked but it’s not very common but still disappointing other then that I have nothing to complain about, come in with patience and a empty stomach and leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face“

“A friend recommended the burgers here and said there was outdoor seating, so since it was a beautiful Friday evening, we decided to give it a try. This little casual place is right along the Rock River out in the middle of the countryside. The gravel parking was plentiful but chaotic. There is also a boat dock if you want to.This is a cash only establishment, we did not know this when we decided to go, but luckily, it wasn't a problem for us this evening. There was live music being played with several people dancing to it.As I mentioned, you may dine inside or outside on the patio under umbrellas at picnic tables. We were unclear if you ordered at the table or inside, but eventually, a waitress came out and said you could order at the table or order inside, and they would bring it out. Our server was outstanding. She had many tables and did fantastic making sure everyone was well taken care of.The menu was pretty varied, and everything that was ordered at our table was enjoyed by those who ordered it. We started with drinks and an appetizer platter, they were both very good. The burger was very good and served with your choice of toppings and sides. we ordered the fresh fruit, and it didn't disappoint as it was fresh and cold. Someone ordered a chicken wrap. It was very good with unique flavors. We ordered the beef taco salad and it didn't disappoint. We will definitely go back and try a couple of the other things on the menu.“
